My company is at Dallas, Texas, and i want to land at san francisco (no problem with my employer) to stay along with my relatives for some days and then back to the employer place. My question here is, does this way is acceptable for the H1B holders and also with inspection officers at my port of entry (i.e. San francisco)

MY suggestion is take your employer to Labour court, He will pay all your salary.
Labour court take the desion in one week time.
This is the best option before go back to India.
Don't levae that employer.

Dear all
I attended the interview on 7th dec 2005 then issued the 221(g) stating administrative process now received the letter the following contents submit
1. Completed visa application form DS-156. Forms can be downloaded from http://www.immihelp.com/forms/state.html
2. For all males between the ages of 16 and 45, supplemental application form DS-157
Forms can be downloaded from http://www.immihelp.com/forms/state.html
3. One color visa photograph (50mm x 50mm, front-facing, white background)
4. Passport (must be valid for six months at the time of application)
5. Current job offer letter providing a detailed and specific account of how the H worker will be employed during the next 12 months. Be sure to specify location, client and client contact information, nature of the project and duration of the project.
6. Self-addressed stamped envelope
7. This letter in original
But the Above link not responding and My querris is
1. whether i can submit the hand written DS156 and 157 or Online i need to fillup and take the xerox
2. whthere i need to send the Photographs & passport of wife and kid, refer the Sr number 3 & 4 ( they also attended the interview alonwith me last time)
5. how long the process will take

I told him you send to ins.
thyta was happened in 2001 june . now i got oppertunity from us employer , i got selcted as a devolper .

UltimoSoft is bogus
Hi All,
This is to inform anybody either coming to join UltimoSoft (http://www.ultimosoft.com/) or trying to apply visa through them.
This company / consultant is bogus, they do not have any business (They used to have good business by faking wrong Tibco experience of employees, and now the market has realized and they do not have any work - and they will not allow you to work in any technology other than TIBCO). They will not be able to place you, they will not pay you any salary, and you will be total loser. Moreover, they will not even talk properly to you. I have suffered this, along with many others, who after losing so much of time and money are now forced to go back to India as there is no other option.
Please make your decision carefully, and I will suggest that even if you have got visa, do not join this firm. If you join, it will be the wirst decision you will have made in life.

I read some experience that after getting the VISA stamp, people are very happy.
My suggestion is only to prepare for worse when you take flight for US becase if you lucky then you will start getting salary from first day or if your employer putting you on client site then he will say ohhhh i will pay you salary when we get the project and i just pay some amount for now bhal bhal......
It's law you should get the salary from very first day when you land here and join to your company........I faced the same problem when i landed here and my employer start talk all above things and i take him in the court and he paid my salary and then i take the h1b transfer and that company Name come in the INS list so they can't mess with other employees.
Life is cool in India if still you desparate to come US just check thrice your employer or you will be in trouble.

REFUSED LETTER AFTER 221-G
Hi All,
I got 221-G, the Officer asked for all the listed document from employer, I sent all the documents through VFS Bangalore, 2 week late i got my passport with a letter:
" Based on the document you have submitted to us, and the information elicited in your interview with an American Consulate Officer,we are not able to issue you an H-1B temporary work visa, because:
____ Your petitioner does not appear to be either able or willing to provide qualifying employment in the United States in accordance with appropriate laws and regulations.
In accordance with United State laws and department of state guidelines,action on your case has been suspended,and the I-129 Petition for a Non-Immigrant Worker filed on you behalf will be returned to the United State Citizenship and Immigration Services(USCIS) with a memorandum explaining the facts of your case as presented to us at the time of interview. The U.S. Consulate Chennai is no longer handling your case,and will be unable to give you any information on the status of your petition.
For more information,your visa was refused today under Section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act(INA). Essentially ,this section sates that a visa cannot be issued to anyone whose application does not appear to the Consular officer to meet the requirement of the INA or of the regulations thereunder.

Got H1 stamped after 2.5 months (Chennai)
Hi every one,
First of all thanks to every one in immihelp for helping many H1B aspirants by posting their experiences.
Coming to my case,
I have attended my H1B interview on 13th of December 2006.It went like this,
VO: Good afternoon
Me: Good afternoon sir
VO : Can I have ur documents
Me : Handed over DS 156,157, I129 and all
Vo: Which company r u going for?
Me: xxx company
Vo: Can I have your Masters degree
Me: Yes sir, Handed over my MCA degree to him
VO: So, You have an L1 already stamped
Me: Yes sir, But thats from my previous company
VO: Should I cancel that visa as you are no longer with xxxxx
Me: Sure please go ahead
VO: Are you going to work for a client
Me : No Sir , I will be working on an internal project
VO: Could you breif about the project
Me: I have breifed about the product
VO: So who are the clients to this product
Me: Explained him ..
VO: kept on typing for 15-20 mts
Me: I am feeling confident that every thing went smoothly till now just waiting for him to say those golden words
VO: Okay we need some more documents from your petitioner
Me: Sir ,I have tax documents and wage docs with
me
VO: No No we need some thing more than that , i am going to tick them in this 221(g) (blue)form please drop them and don't drop passport

All the time I was wondering why on the earth they didn't asked me to drop passport :(.
I have submitted all the wage docs and tax documents and project documents on 4th of january 2007.I have got reply from after 2months that is on 2nd of march vfs .Got another 221g which says "process completed please drop the passport" . Felt happy and dropped passport on 2nd of march,monday . kept my fingers crossed and keep on checking vfs passport link :). on 6th march , Friday there was a message on site that your passport is been courierd you will be getting in 2-3 days.
Got courier back with visa stamped on saturday.
Finally my 2 cents , 221g holders please have patience expect atleast 2-3 months delay to get response from vfs guys as they need to check the credibility of the company you have applied for.Easy to say all these but tough to face though :) .Also fresh visa applicants please please make sure the consultant you are applying for is not a fake or a bad reputed company which shows wrong reports and all to govt of US.Bottom line is if the company is trust worthy with good track record in paying salaries and taxes and you are clean from your side visa guaranteed immediatly or 2-3 months( in case of chennai).
