Good news for Admin Process Cases
Hi All,

H1B applicants who got Admin Procees, no need to call or send mails to Chennai Consulate. i.e., you can check your case status from your PC thru the following link.

Got H1B for me and 221g for my wife at MUM Consulate
Dear Friends,

I thank all the people who have posted their experiences in this site.

We attended to Mumbai consulate on 8 th may.
Even though My I797 reffered me to Chennai consulate as we are residing for the past 8 months in mumbai we took appointment with mumbai consulate.
Our Appointment is at 10 am.
we reached at 9.30, there is a huge Q out side the consulate.
VFS officer divided the que into 2lines.

At around 10.45 he allowed us to enter into the consulate.

Step 1 : Security check

Women and children are given preference.

There are separate 'Q' for Men and Women

I was asked to remove my belt and completed security check and they gave me a wooden piece.
This wooden piece should be given to the security person before leaving the consulate. So its better you keep it in your pocket,to avoid confusion.

I have seen people who brought chocolates etc and are forced to throw them outside the consulate.

Step2 : Collecting the Documents(DS156,157 etc)

After security check We are allowed to enter into a big hall.At the right hand side there is a Q and there they asked for Original I797, I129 and Our Original Marraige certificate. They stappeled them to the documents which we submitted earlier to VFS.

Step 3 : Finger Prints

They gave me those documents and asked us to stand at the counter number 1.
There is an American sitting behind glass and a security women standing out side and helping the applicants.

First My wife gave her left and right hand index finger prints.
There is a small cut on her right index finger.
He asked her when did it happened.
She really dont remember as it is a very very small cut on her right index finger.
She gave reply that "I dont remember sir".

Then he made a note of it.
Then its my turn and gave my finger prints.

After finishing finger prints, they Issued a Pink Coloured slip, on whcih there is a 3 digit Number.

From there we went into the middle of the hall and took our seats.

Step 4 : VO Interview

After 5 mins there is an announcement in the speaker as " Number 230 and family,293,345,323,615 and family please come to counter no 8".( there are around 15 counters, first 3 counters are open counters and the remaining we need to go into small room to talk to VO).

We went to counter 8 and the VO is looking in a very good mood and is playing jokes with the applicants.

Before us there are around 5 applicants and VO gave visa to all of them.

When our turn came, VO called inside with his hand.
AS soon as we entered , I wished him with a smile and the conversation went like this :

Me : Good Morning Sir
VO : Good Morning

VO : SO you are going to resign ABC company and going to XYZ company.
Me : Yes Sir

Vo : Tell me about ABC,XYZ and what you do in ABC.
Me : I gave answer about ABC,Xyz and my role in ABC.

VO : whats your salary in US?
Me : $exact fig as mentioned in Offer letter + Benifits

VO : Is this the first time you are going to US
Me : yes Sir

VO : How many employees are there in XYZ?
Me : Exact fig as mentioned in I129

VO : How did you came to Know about XYZ?
Me : I applied through Monster.com

Then he turned to My wife and started asking her ..

VO : Is your marraige Arranged or Love mrg?
she : Arranged
VO : How many of them are there when you first saw him?
She : 5
VO : Whats your first impression ?
She : labalalabala ( The best complement I have recieved from my wife )

He gave a huge smile for her reply.

VO : Have you ever played with snow?
She : NO sir
VO : Get ready to play with Snow.

He started entering some information into his system.

Then turned to me and said "Iam issuing visa to you sir and Mam you need to come once again and should give your finger prints. There is no appointment needed , you can visit me and get your visa stamped after you get healed".

He kept my documents a side and handed over her passport and documents and gave 221g.

We thanked him and left the room.
Before leaving the hall the security person asked us for the wooden block and we handed over him and left the hall.

After 2 days I recieved my passport through Courier.

If you need any help you can mail me.

All the best guys..
