L1A Blanket - Visa Approved - 6 Sep, 2012
Hello All,

The interview was about a minute long
The questions asked by the Visa Officer were as follows -
Good morning, How are you?

1) Have you been to the US before?
2) Which company do you work for?
3) How long are you with XX company?
4) How many years of managerial experience?
5) What is your Indian salary?
6) What will be your duties in the US?

The clincher is the salary.
What helps is significant years of professional and managerial experience.

All the best!

L1B-L2 Approved - Sep 5
Hi All... Thanks to this forum... It really helped me a lot. First of all I would like to say that this is pre-determined. The VO stamped my form after 2 questions, not even asked me about my specialization.

1. is it L1A or B ?
2. Have you already been to US with L1?
3. Which company you work for?
4. Who is your client?
5. US designation
6. Indian salary
7. What specialization - I guess i ruined this question, because the VO wanted to know if I do coding or architecture. I said coding.

thank you, your visa is approved. No questions to L2.
My appointment was at 10.15. But I came out at 9:45 :)
Good Luck Guys.

L1 and L2 Visa Approved - Exp.
My experience with L1B/L2 visa stamping at Chennai consulate.

I had H1B which I never utilized and it got expired in 2010. I always worried if VO will ask any questions on it.

Valid B1/B2 visa till 2018 and visited US 3 times on that Visa. I was kind of worried that VO will ask why didn't I utilized H1B and why am I applying for L1-B visa?

VO - Hey, Gentleman!
ME - Good Morning, Sir (loud and clear)
VO - So you applied for L1, what makes you special?
ME - Tried to explain my skills... but VO was not convinced
VO - I don't think you have special skills. Need more clarification.
ME - Explained in detail what I will do and why I am special.
VO - So what.. still I think this can be done from India.
ME - explained in detail why I need to be working out of US than India. (Have dependencies on other teams etc.) and it is difficult to hire my kind of skilled person.
VO - How long you have been working with this company?
ME - Answered
VO - How much will be your salary?
ME - Answered
VO - Okay - Your visa is approved

No answer to my wife (L2) at all.

My observations -
1. On L1 you really need to know your specialized skills. Go in details what is written by Petitioner in your petitions - Job duties, role/responsibilities etc.
2. Company name really matters and it adds value to your case.
3. They also value how well the petition is written.
4. Dress well, body language also counts there as when you walk towards the window VO will observe you from top to bottom.
5. Have confidence and dont be scared/nervous

Good Luck!

BLANKET L1A and L2 APPROVED--cheenai
Thanks to IMMIHELP as all the question asked during the intervew are covered in this forum:

Approved L1B and L2 ON Date 31 aug 2012:

Question asked by consulate officer:

--How long you are working for XX company?
--What is your US and INDIAN salary?
---Are you going for xx product implementation?

YOU VISA IS APPROVED AND WE WILL COURIER IN 1 WEEK.

The rumor all around is incorrect that they are rejecting the VISA, almost all the VISA were getting approved on that day....i dont understand why INFOSYS , HCL,TCS are crying foul.....I think now US is approving the strong cases .....earlier in 2001-2003, it seems they were blindly approving the VISA but now they are approving the strong cases only which is right.......INFO,TCS,HCL are sending ROOKIES and they are getting rejected with less number of experience......which they cannot qualify for WORK VISA......

I think CONFIDENCE, LOOKS, EXPRESSION ETC does not matter at all, it is just if you make a strong case or not.....if yes then you will get the approval else not....

L1B and L2 approved
I was able to get a feeling of the interview even before attending; Thanks to this Forum.

My Questions were as follows:-

1.Who is the client. (asked twice)
2.What is the product
Explain in simple way that a layman can understand.
3.What are you going to do in US for this product.
Explain about your speciality for doing this job and how you are going to do this job in layman's terms. Please avoid words like testing, scripting etc instead use quality check or developing programs for checking quality etc.
More than development/Testing experience they are looking for people having specialist experience in the domain.

As this visa is for specialist convince the VO that you are a specialist with many years of experience in the area you are applying for. Mind you they will be looking straight into your eyes and do the same and give answers in simple English.
4.Salary in India and US
5.How long working for my employer.
The maximum years the best.

To my Wife : How long we have been married and was it a arranged marriage or not?.
