First of all, thanks a lot for all the folks shared their experiences, it was really helpful;

Got my L1B blanket visa at chennai consulate today and below were the questions asked;

How many years of exp in xxx?
Who is your client?
what is your india and US salary?
what is the purpose?
What is your specialized skills?

i blabbered for some of the questions but with god's grace that sweet VO approved my visa.

I am not from software background and my company is into core engineering services.

My B.Tech dergree from well know institute from India helped in getting my VISA.

All together specialization skill is important and know complete details about your purpose of travel.

I went for the interview on 22 Aug 2012 to chennai consulate. My experience

1. Present your application at the gate and get your token.
2. Wait in a queue and look at the overhead monitor for your token number
3. Once it arrives go to the counter. In my case all she asked was 3 copies of I129, passport, green hdfc slip and token.
4. She will scan the bar code and bound them with a rubber band.
5. There are 2 counter 6 & 12 where they do the finger print scanning.
6. After that proceed to the next building.
7. At counter number 14 present the set and your DD.
8. Then wait for your turn for the interview.
9. Mine came up.
10. I went to the VO.
11. VO:What are you doing? - I am a S/W Architect with YYYY .
12. VO:You are doing the medical app development? - Yes
13. VISA stamped.
14. Done.

Below are the questions & answers i prepared for my L1B visa. But i wasnt asked much questions. What i realise is most of the rejections are for blanket visa's. So its better to go for individual petitions.

3. What do you do for your company? I specialize in YYYY proprietary YYYY X platform/product/tool, i have created this YYYY X platform/product/tool. I add new features to this platform/product/tool and also develop YYYYY product leveraging this YYYY X platform/product/tool. These products help in achieving ZZZZZ for the company.

4. What is your specilization? I specialize in YYYY proprietary YYYY X platform/product/tool, i have developed this YYYY X platform/product/tool and its core components like AAA framework, BBB framework, CCC framework that provides capabilities needed to build an end to end YYYY specific YYYYY products. These products help in achieving ZZZZZ for the company.

I am on L1B visa, both I-94 and Visa going to expire on Mar 1st 2013. Recently my wife and kid visited India, while they were coming back to US, their I-94 got extended till July 15th, 2015. Luckily, it worked out for my friend and his wife as well (their prior I94 extends Nov 2013, but it got extended till Nov, 2015 while revisit).

Even I went to India, but did not work out for me since my passport expires on this Mar 2013. So, it extended as it is unfortunately.

I am planning to go to out of country (to Mexico) to check my luck for getting I94 extension in last week of this month.

I will update my luck/badluck soon. Friends, welcome to share your experience to others.

Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences. My L1A petition was approved by the team in USA.

The following questions were asked:

I had an ice-breaker moment at the window, which helped relax the atmosphere.

Hi, Thank a TON to the person who has intiated this forum and Thank to all the other people who has shared their experiences its really very helpfull in preparing for the interview.
I would like to share my experience so that you won't face the same problem as i had.
After giving the finger prints they asked me to go to the counter no. 14, when I was about to go to the counter 14 in the next building
one of the helper asked to sit on the chair and wait for my turn. I waited for 10 mins my no. didn't come. I was very worried and said him
(helper) that people who had come behind me have already faced the interview and gone out but i am still waiting for my no. then he said
that i need to wait for my no. again 10 more mins passed but still my no. didn't come. I went to him and asked, again the same answer...
Again after 20 mins i stood up and walked to them (helpers) luckily one of helper saw my DD was in my folder and then he said me that "sir
since you have not presented the DD in the Counter 14 so only your no. didn't get displayed". Pls pay your DD in counter 14, then i said him that i was stopped by one of your person and asked me to wait for my no. to pay the DD then he felt very sorry about that.
Also one more misguiding factor is that the display on the counter 14 was showing some random no. so if any one sees that they will think that they should wait for their no. to present the DD. I noticed that till i was in the building the no. on the counter 14 was displaying the same constant no.it didn't change at all.

Friends Please Note : If you have the Blanket Petition the go to counter 14 and present your DD then only your no. will be displayed for
your final interview.

VO : How many days you are planning to stay ?

Friends what i have noticed is VO's are very cool, take your own time to answer the questions, don't be fast in answering your
questions,they will listen very carefully to each and every answer you say and atmost have a eye contact.
