First of all thank you all for your valid inputs on the process preparation.Also i would like to share my experience to help further.
I have got 7 years of overall experience and in my present company i was working only for last 1 and half year.
The VO was bit rude and i though that this is going be my rejection day.The day started very rough with each counter checking my photo revalidating my papers and asking me questionswhile others were done in 2 mins(quiet humiliating).Somehow came to the fourth counter at last to get my interview.
The VO was rude she wasnt even greeting or smiling and blasting the other guy who was in process.I though it was going to be my rejection day.It went like this.
VO: which company are you working for ?
Me:I have answer.
VO:so how long do you work here?
VO:Were you hired as manager.?
VO:How many people report to you?
VO:So what is this project.
I start saying i handle a account and gave details of my project.
she approved my visa and stamped my papers.
Guys all i wanted to share with my experience is ..Confidence matter 50% and ur lucky matter 30% and ur preparation matters rest.So stay confident and say bold even if u r wrong be confident u wil get the visa for sure. All the best

I applied for product management position for L1A blanket petition. My case was different as I am doing functional management and not resource/people management. It was an absolute cakewalk.
Apart from my petition, HDFC receipts, appointment letter, DS 160 and passports, no document was even seen or touched at any stage in embassy. For my wife and child, it was just their passport (+DS 160, appt letter, HDFC receipt).
VO started the interview by saying "Good Afternoon" and I immediately corrected him with "Good Morning" and a smile. Then he asked me about how long I worked for my company, next he asked me how many resources I managed to which I replied that I was actually a functional manager responsible for product and business strategy. Then he asked me about my role which I described in two sentences.
Then he asked me wife some innocous questions related to marriage date, child birth and my favorite food.
Actually he had approved my VISA even before he asked me the first question as I had noticed him marking the checkbox.
So that was my experience

First of all, I have a difficult time understanding why you guys all get rejected (99,9% of the posters here seem to be from India). The only thing I can imagine would be the lack of experience: most rejected posters have 5 years of less experience in the field. Come on, in the first 5 years you won't even know how to tie your shoe let alone be a qualified specialist for any product... Another one could possibly be the low wages. I saw one guy posting that he would earn 43k/yr. That is really not enough. Double would come closer.
Anyway, for me it was very simple. I have 15+ years in the telecommunications field and received an L1B on an individual petition. Only question asked: which company do you work for? Approved.
It really does not matter whether or not you are dressed nicely, or whatever answer you give to the consular officers. The decisions has been made based on the information provided in the application. So make sure you get that part right and if you can, apply for an individual L1 instead of blanket.
