I went Chennai for Visa interview on 29th May
While checking the document the collecting officier asked me type of visa you applied for
Me : L1 B
Doc. Collector: But your document shows that it is for L1-Individual
Me: but i have applied for L1-B
DC: for L1B form I-129s but you have I-129 form. n told me talk to ur HR.
but after some discussion with her, she did something and told me and my spouse for taking finger print.
Me: we had our finger print and went for Visa interview.

Hi Guys..This site helped me alot for my visa interview.Now its my turn to give back..
My visa interview time was scheduled at 7.45am.

2.Dont look/listen at other windows.Just wait for your turn and go ahead.
3.Pratice the regular questions & answers as may times as possible..
4.Once VC ask you a question,think for a second and answer.
Give 100%...Just believe in yourself...&..Go and get it..!!

L1 B Blanket Visa at Chennai Consulate on June 1,2012
I reached the Chennai US Consulate at 11am. I got the token and than waited in line to get my documents verified and get my finger prints scanned. It took about 20min.
Once this was done, I joined another line to deposit the demand draft . Once this was done , I was in waiting area for about 45min before my token number was called.
Token number called and I am up on the booth.
Me : Good Afternoon officer. How are you ?
VO: (No response) Please pass me on the papers.
VO: So what is your project name ?
Me: YYYY
VO: Who is the client and what is it about ?
Me: We are doing this stuff for the client. and blah blah
VO: Your salary in India in Lakhs ?
Me: X lakhs per annum
VO: How long have you been working with this firm & designation?
Me: X years & Consultant.
The officer typed something on the computer and looked at me and said - " I am approving your visa. Let me finish this paperwork."
Again started typing something and than told me your passport will be sent to your company within 7 days.
Me: Thank you so much !
It seemed to me everything was pre-decided before they approved my visa. I did have a great profile which screams specialized skills but was a bit nervous as there were many visas rejected in front of me.
Overall it was a great experience.
Suggestion : Please do not misuse your visa. If you are travelling on B1 make sure to not overstay and do not participate in client billable work. Otherwise it would have serious impact when you are at the door of the consulate again.

Me : ZZZ.
V.O : What is your salary per annum?
Me : Told the amount in LPA.
V.O : Will you be working for any client?
Me : I work in R&D team and ours is a product based company, so I do not work for a specific client.
V.O : How many years in this company?
Me : Close to 5 years. Exactly 4 years 10 months.
V.O : What are you specialized in?
Me : I am a SME in proprietary YYYY and YYY solutions and their interaction with ABC.
I have in-depth knowledge of company's proprietary frameworks using which I have designed and developed key frameworks.
V.O : What do you work on?

We have to be confident and maintain eye contact while answering.

Thanks for sharing interview questions and tips. My L1 - A (Blanket) interview was last week and I cleared it. All the questions asked were posted on this site. Based on my experience the following should be pre-requisites for L1- A (Blanket)
1.Good Experience ( Close to OR more than 10 Years)
2.History of past visits to United States
3.Good Number of Reportees in India and US
4.Package which is appropriate for Managers ( > Rs .10 Lakhs)

L1 B Rejected at chennai consulate

I attended the L1 B Visa interiew on 25may2012 at chennai consulate.
Visa officer asked routine questions and during last visit, i stayed in U.S for 5 months on B1 (oct2011-feb2012).
Q: Why you stayed for 5 months??
Me: for attending business meetings with clients(A,B,C).
he repeated this question for 4 times and checked whether i worked there. but i said same answer.
then i think he did not convienced and he cancelled my existing B1 and told that apply for new B1 as when u require and answer the visa officer that time .
Now please any body can tell me what is the Impact of this, when i will be applying for visas(B1,L1,H1.....) in future from same company or other company.

Hi Guys,
I will apprear for L1B interview in 1 week time. I heard that india and US salary plays important role in VISA approval. I am 4 years old in IT industry and working with MNC here. My indian salary is 6.5 LPA and annual US salary would be 43k + perks. Would it be sufficient? It not then what should be the figures?

Immihelp has been of great help in preparing for the visa interview and so now its my moral duty to post my experience so that it will be helpful to future applicants.
My visa interview time was of 9:00 AM and I reached there by 7:50 AM. After waiting in different queues for the token numbers, finger printing, my interview took place at 10:30 AM.
It was very brief and pretty simple. The following questions were asked:
Me: Good Morning, Sir (and then passed my documents)
VO: Which company are you working for
Me: I am working for <my current company name>
VO: Please pass me your petition
Gave my petition to him
VO: For which client will you be working
Me: Gave the name of the client along with the location i'll be working at.
