Hi Guyz Had interview at delhi on aug 3, asked the below questions

I already had l1b blanket since it got expired had to file a new one. My answers were pretty good , I think for some reason they dont want to issue blanket visas . He said lately the law rules for l1b blanket has been changed and then the blue slip saying not clearly approvable and case no and ask to appy h1 or l1b individual

L2 visa
my interview was at 8:45am on aug 1st 2011 at hyd. I went to US consolate at 7:50am. But the security allowed at 8:30am just before 15mins. We were in a queue before the main gate. After
verifying the passport and appointment letter they allowed and directed us between two seperate lines Q1(BEP point) and Q2 and I was waiting in Q1 about an hour. I received all the
documents and they directed me to which counter I need to go. Then I had the security check. I went to counter number 8 and gave the finger prints. Then I took the token number and waited for my turn. My number was called and waited at the specified counter.Two members were waiting before me. I was very curious to see the result of them. Unfortunately both got rejected. At that time I was very nervous and tense. Gave the passport and required documents to the visa officer, then
Me: Wished him good morning.
VO: smiled and took my husband passport copy and asked me " Is he your husband ? "
Me: But I did not understand the question and asked him to repeat
VO: showed the picture again and asked 'Is he your husband'?
Me: said yes
VO: How long have you been married?
Me just 2months
VO: Who is your husbands' employer?
Me: Tata Consultancy Services
VO: What is your husbands' salary?
Me: in US?
VO: yeah
Me: xxx $ gross per month
VO: Can u show me the marriage photos?
Me: I showed few photographs from the album.
VO: said nice nice and smiled. Then said to me " you will receive the passport in a week".
Me: thank you and have a nice day.

L1B got approved on 04 Aug in Hyderabad
My L1 got approved today.
My Interview was at 9.30. I came to consulate around 9.00 AM with little bit tense. Even though,I need to wait for 15 mins. I had started walking towards US consulate at 9.15. All the verification and finger prints had taken. One of the lady guided me to stand in counter 12. I did not understand, I thought it was another verification. But the guy, sitting inside the glasses greeted me "Good Morning".
I said "Good Morning, thank you"
And he started asking questions.
Officer: How long you are working in current organization?
My response: x years y months.
Officer: What is the name of the client?
My response: xyz
Officer: How long you are working with this Client?
My response: x months
Officer: Tell me something about your client, what it does?
My response: xxx is a global leader in business communications systems. And I have started explaining about my client.(interrupted by VO)
Officer: what is the name of the application that you are working?
My response: xxxx
Officer: what is your Salary in current organization?
My response: … $’s.
Officer: is it per month?
My response: yes
The key is confidence.
And my advise is Be confident, clearly convey your message, be precise in your answers.

Hi All
Yesterday i had my L1 B interview thanks for help from immhelp.
We went early but security will just 15 minutes before since i was with wife and daughter i got prefernce and able to finish all by 30 minutes.
VO: Good Morning.
Me : good morning.
vo: give your docs
vo:which compnany u r working what period.
me :xxx for xx years

me : i explained my work and explained exterise in detail.

L2 Visa Approved New Delhi
My L1B visa was put under 221g and we withdrew the application so i can apply for L2.
My interview was at 11:30am and I was one of the last to be interviewed, I noticed that most visa officers were Indian (at least Indian looking). Last time when I went in June majority were non indians.
Also, I noticed that in my batch most were L2 or H4 applicants, but that could just be coincidence. The interviews were going a lot easier than back in June (maybe because its one of the busiest time for them or maybe because it was the last batch). Most of the applicants were getting approved.
The visa officer (an indian lady) didn't ask my any questions or didn't ask for any documents… Only thing I had to show was my wife's visa (it had expired) and she approved my visa.
I was surprised how easy it was...

Me: I am having ZZ years of experience in YYY. and have worked on similar projects in the past. Again interrupted by Conusulate.
Consulate: There are thousands of people from your YYY company who are having ZZ years of experience. What is so special about you ? Which technology are you working on ?
Me: TTTT technology mam.
Consulate: There are thousands of people working on this technology, what is so speical about you ?

L1B Blanket Approved at Chennai Conslate.
Dear friends
I got my L1B blanket approved today, without immihelp I wouldnt have got an Idea of what to speak and what not to speak. This is been like a cookbook. Hats off to you guys, a wonderful reference.
I wore a light blue shirt with a tie and dark trousers ( man had a hard time with the tie coz I never use it, somehow made that knot with youtube help lol)
Question: How long you are with current organisation ?
Answer: I am with YYYY for the past 6 years and 2 months
Question: Was this your first company ?
Answer: No Mam, its my third company.
Question: What is your total years of experience ?
Answer: Its 9 years
Question: What is your specialization ?
Answer: I have 9 years of experiece in Designing and Implementing the Datacenters for different clients. And I have done lot of datacenter migrations during this time.
(She interrupted and asked me)
Question: wait wait wait...which visa you went last time ?
Answer: L1B Individual
Question: Why Individual last time and blanket this time ?
Answer: (I was not prepared for this question, And I dont want to mention about the time taking and RFEs of Individual, so I said I am going for a specialization role, so my employer applied blanket and then started explaining the specialization again) I have completed the Phase 1 of Enhancing our clients datacenter in my previous visit and client was very impressed with my work. I have achieved this with the help of 9years of experience and with the methodologies and strategies of ZZZ. So client wants me in the phase2 as I am having a sound knowledge of the existing environment and I am aware of intricacies in doing a migration of this big magnitude. (she was writing something on my I129s)
Question: Your visa is approved and you will get it in 7 working days.
Answer: Thank you Mam. You have a great day.
My Suggestions : Its very important to maintain the eye contact with the visa officer. Because when I was explaining my specialization, she keeps looking at the computer and thrice she looked at me for half of a second to check whether I am maintaining a eye contact or not, she doesnt even turn her head but just the eyes. I think this gives them an Idea whether we are saying the truth or not.
I collected all the question for the rejected people and anlaysed how it can be answered better.
The specialization question is the key, we have to convince the officer. In my queue 2 guys in front got rejected for L1B blanket and I Just concentrated on the specialized skills and somehow got through.

L1A individual Approved after Blanket rejection

I got an Not Clearly approvable stamp under 221G and explanation that L1 Blanket is only for very high level managers and i can't apply under this section. I could however apply under L1 Individual or H1B. My colleague got rejected too on same grounds from Hyd and he has 2 people reporting to him !. Sheer back luck i suppose or may be were did not project enough confidence.
