So there i was at the entrance of kolkata mbassy for the L1B interview. Scheduled time was 8:30 am 29th july. With all the nervousness and unaware of routes of kolkata I left my hotel a bit early and reached mbassy by 7:30am.
Ah! So there it starts. To my surprise i could find any rush at the entrance of the consulate;showed my apmnt letter to the security person , submitted my belongings at the locker and moved to the waiting area.
After like 15 min. another security person started announcing the token no. with 5 in one slots. and there was my no. called.
Submitted my docs and took a sit for the big thing.
And there it begins all ..!! although this consulate didn't gave me the aura of more nervousness as ppl looked calm enuf. i waited and waited. It was 9:05am in the clock and there was I my name was called.
VO: Good Morning , how r u doing today ? [ was this expected :O]
Me: Very good morning Sir, thank you.
Vo: so , lets start with your finger-prints.
Me: took my ten-finger prints. [ the moment i completed my thumbs. he shooted].
Vo: How long have you been with current company?
Me: 2 yrs and 8months.
Vo: And what's ur role here?
Me: I emphasized on my company prop. tools and kept telling tht i was working on the developemnt of the products.
Vo: { stooped me in betwn] what's ur specialization?
Me: i replied to him saying tht my company product are highly advanced and gave him some name and the product details. with the stress on my long duration with the company. [ I stopped in betwn as he kept typing and wasnt even looking at me, i thot he has made decision, he suddenly looked up and said keep going on Mam i am hearing you out. ;)] I started cont. again.
Vo: What's ur will ur role at the client site ?
Me: I explained it will quite similar , althou i will be implementing the product which i have been developing for last tenure in india.
Vo: Which client are you going to?
Me: Gave him the name and location.
Vo: What will ur end product?
Me: Explained [ this was kinda bluff i gave to him]
Vo: You have a B1 , when did you travelled last?
Me: Gave him month and yera of my last travel?
VO: What was the purpose of ur travel during that time ?
Me: I told him it was the same product for which i am going now.
Vo: So is there any1 goin along with you?
Me; I said No.
He thn loooked at me and smiled Congrats Mam , you r visa is approved , he stamped my papers and returned to me and kept my passport saying it will return in 7 days, wished for a happy stay ;).
I wish to thank all the folks sharing their exp with this site , which helped me in preparations. Thou , still its all luck and coinfidence which speaks, Just Mmke sure you are dressed in a nice formal attire.

L1 B Rejection Kolkata
Hi,
My L1B was rejected for lack of specialized Knowledge.
I see in this forum everyone posting the Questions asked but for the Answers giving YYYY or XYZ.
I would like it if people post answers as to some questions, like what was their Specialized Knowledge, and how they convinced the Interviewer regarding it. That would help others have an idea what kind of answer is needed or how to frame our replies.
We already know what all questions will be asked, so questions are of no help without the answers which will give a better idea.

My visa got approved.
My visa got approved at the counter number 15.
Only below 3 questions were asked.
1. Since when are you working with current company.
A. While i was answering his question VO inrrupted me and asked below question.
2. What kind of special knowladge you have.

3. At your head office there are lot of people who have the same skill set.
A. I am not going work at the Head Office of my org. I am going to work at some other location.
He said your visa is approved and you will get your passoport in about a week of time.

Hi,
My Interview date was 18th july.
I had applied for L1 and L2 for my spouse and My two year baby girl.
Our Visa Time was 8.30 AM
We have Reached @7.30
Kolkota is more organised
out side Embesy they check our document outside consulate then security check is done.
Then we had asked to wait in waiting area and token is given then they called our token and asked to arrange BEP folder as per check list.
The officer checked the order and stapled the photo copy to it.
Me my spouse and my 2 year daughter was also there for L2 so they gave us preference as my child is small and call us for interview our number was actually 32.,33,34 but they asked us to attain the interview at 2 nd number VO was a lady and she was very Cool 

ME :My Role involve Test Designing, test Execution, Test automation, Defect Reporting.

3. Whom will you report in Us?

The VO looked at my application and said L1-A is only for Executives, not project managers ! A few questions about my job profile and asked me to apply under L1-A individual or a H1B.

Hi All. Thanks to this site. It really helps. My L1B blanket visa approved in delhi counter number 13 on 22nd July11. They asked me same qus like
- ur specilization
- ur client
- duration of stay etc
In addition to this, they asked me that u r M.TECH in Textile technology, then how u r in software and how u wil handle work in US. I told that "now I have 4 years exp in IT and Textile is left far behind. Also in my M tech I have taken all computer courses as my university was flexible for the subjects undertake"
This was an unexpected qus. So friends ,if u r from non-cs back ground, prepare this qus too.
