I attended L1B Visa interview at Chennai US consulate. Interview went well. Below are some of the questions I was asked which may help you all...

1. Who is the client?
2. What client does?
3. What you will be doing for them (client)?
4. From how many years your company is doing business with the client?
5. What’s your experience with current employer?
6. What’s your experience with client?
7. What product you shall be working with and how long you are working on that product/project?
8. How specialized are you?
9. Why only you?

This site has helped me to prepare myself by understanding the expectation on interviewer. Thank you,

Vijay

L1 B rejected
I went for l1B interview. I have prepared well for my specialized skill set. But even telling them, everything about my skills , they were not convinced and finally told me to apply for H1B. All the guys (4-5) around me were rejected today on L1B.

Still the key is: Prepare well and try your luck based on visa officer's mood.

Need Help -
Hi,

My L1B VISA interview with US Consulate,Chennai has scheduled on July 12, 2011. In my DS-160, I have mentioned as my wife travel with me. But now I don’t want to take my wife with me for the interview and not booked the appointment for her. Will it be a problem. What kind of question they might ask on this.

Thanks in Advance
Prakash

L1B Blanket Approved
Today me and my family attended interview in New Delhi Consulate for L1B Blanket Visa. It was my second Visa extension.
Q:- In Which Company you are working?
A:- YYYY
Q:-What is your specialised skills?
A:- I have around 7 years of experience in various Software design and development tecnnologies. I also have 2 years of experience in YYYY proprietary tool YYY. From Past 2 years I am the Team Lead of YYYY framework being developed for our client ZZZ.
(Visa officer was listening very carefully and was taking notes on my DS-160 )
Q:- Nobody in the world takes training in YYYY proprietary tool for 2 years, tell me how much of training time you have spent on the tool?
A:- You are correct, I actually spent 7 days of training when I first joined the company but as the XX tool was in development phase I am involved in that from past 2 years as Team Leader.
Q:- What is your team size?
A:- Including me 4.
Q:- you said you are designing another framework for your client? but that will not be proprietary for your company?
A:- Yes we are designing a new framework which will be based on our XX tool. But after the new framework is done that framework will be proprietered by client company YYY.
Q:- So for past 2 years you are deeveloping this new framework dont you think its too long for a software development?(Very rudely)
A:- No sir its not(Confident & Loud) if you look into the critical software framework development process 2 years is not a long time. We have released Phase I of the project which is for US only in 9 months. We have also rolled out phase 2,3. Each phase approx takes 7 months so I think 2 years is well enough time for the development and implementation. (He tried cutting me out but I raised my voice and then he started typing )
After that he was keep typing for about 10 minutes.
Finally, "Sir, your Visa is approved. You will get your passport in 5 days"
There was no questions asked to my wife. Even he asked my wife and daughter to sit down in waiting area.

L1B and L2 Approved @ Chennai
Hi my L1 B and L2 (Spouse) VISA got approved today @ Chennai. Following was the interview sequence

As we were waiting in the interview queue the VO gave us a nod to come forward to the counter.
I nodded back with a smile and reached the counter.

Me: Good Morning Mam
VO: Good Morning

Gave her the folder, which she looked and started typing something,

VO: What would you do in the U.S?
Me: I am a YYYY for YYYY technology and work on YYYY company proprietary tool.
I have helped the development team to build this tool and would be working on the combination of these technologies.

VO: Who is your Client?
Me: There are multiple clients whom I would work with as per their requirement

VO: Where do work in India?
Me: ZZZ, ZZZ

VO: Where will you work in U.S?
Me: ZZZ, YYYY i.e. my company location

No further questions to me...
To my Wife

VO: How long have you been married mam?
Wife: YYYY years, YYYY months

VO: Where did you meet him for the first time?
Wife: YYYY and it was an arranged marriage.

VO: Where did you parents find him?
Wife: ZZZ

VO: Can I see you Marriage Certificate and Photographs?
Wife: Handed over these to her.

After having a look at the photographs and certificate, started typing something.

And finally she said, “Your VISA has been approved and you will receive your passports in a week’s time”.

Me: Thank you mam, Have a good day
VO: Welcome, you too have a good day

Tips:
1. Dress professionally, preferably wear a tie. Remember you represent your company and if you don’t project professionalism, the VO is least likely to think so.
2. Look into the eyes of the VO and answer the questions.
3. Be relaxed, keep smiling and most importantly be Confident. (Keep this in mind that VO’s are not technical people, you have to explain things to them in layman’s terms )

Thanks to immihelp and more importantly the users who have posted their experiences.

All the Best

i attended the interview today with my wife..We had a mistake in our DS160 form (few fields were wrongly filled) and we realized in just 1 day before our interview..

I called vfs helpdesk and they told me to fill form again and keep both (new + old bar code ready). Although i was nervous about it but things went well and the officer only need the latest form.
[Lesson: never go for interview with any wrong information..better to correct it before interview day in DS 160)

Interview details:

interview questions:
Officer were pretty cool overall and it took 2-3 mins

wife: yup..1 month before

officer: have u been to us before
wife: nope..

officer..okay..i am approving your visa ("As other says golden words") Have a nice time in US and enjoy guys ;)

key thing is :
- keep your self cool

L1 B Individual - RFE
Hi

I got these questions in RFE

1. Detailed description of the actions and duties he/she will perform on a daily basis. They’re expecting details.
2. List of these duties which require specialized knowledge.
3. Explain why each duty requires a worker with special Knowledge.
4. Explain which processes, procedures, tool and/or methods the beneficiary will use for each duty and from which company each process, procedure, tool, and/or method comes from (petitioner, third party, and/or client).
5. Identify how long it takes to train an employee to use the specific tools, procedures, tools, and/or methods utilized. Specify how many workers possess this knowledge and are similarly employed by your organizations.
6. Explain exactly how the beneficiary’s training differs from the core training provided to your other employees.

Please submit a record from your human resources department detailing the manner in which the beneficiary has gained his specialized knowledge. Documentation should indicate the pertinent training course in which the beneficiary has been enrolled while working for your company, as well as the duration of the courses, the number of hours spent taking the courses each day, the completion dates, and certificates of completion for these courses.

Did anyone else ge these questions and have got their petition accepted.
It would be great if someone can post their experience on responding to RFE
