Hello All,

First of all, I would give credit to this site which boosted my confidence levels after going through the questions.

I noted down the basic questions asked and prepared my answers accordingly and went for the interview.

Here is what happened on June 2nd for my visa interview which is scheduled at 10.00 AM.

Ininital checking is done outside the premisis and I was waiting for the document verification and for the finger prints.
Here one unfortunate thing happened.
The visa fee was increased by 1000/- (23000 - old). It is 24,000 for L1 now which my company is not aware since my visa briefing in my company is done a week before.
You can get a DD or pay by cash there itself.
If you don't have the cash, they will give a form stating that you need to pay 1000/- and they will reschedule the appointment a little bit later.(2hrs later).

I was standing in the queue for the interview. I noticed many of them getting rejected and could find many of them were not confident in answering the questions. I was very cool though. All i thought is I am going to loose nothing if it gets rejected.

My turn has come now.

Me: Good Morning.
VO: Good Morning Sir. How are you ?
Me: I am doing good as ever.
VO: Looked at me and smiled.
Me: She went through my application. What is your role in your project ?
Me: Answered the basic funda. Requirements, Design documents, coding and preparing the unit test cases.
VO: Who is the client ?
Me: ZZZ
VO: What is your specialized knowledge ?
ME: I was very cofident here. I was stressing on my specific domain technologies. Not the common the Java or microsoft.
VO: How did you get this specialized knowledge sir ?
Me: I felt this is a damn good question and the rest of the questions depends on my answer.
I said I have been working with the same client and project since 3yrs 11 months.

She took a while for typing and she said what i was waiting for.
"Your VISA has been approved sir. You will get it in weeks' day time."

L1B Blanket Visa got approved on 1st June,2010 at Kolkata Consulate
It was a very tensed day for me.As I have L1B Blanket Visa rejection 1 yr back from Chennai Consulate. So this time I have made interview at Kolkata Consulate. So this may be a point for refusal again.Apart from these I heard that last two weeks most of the L1 B Blanket visa got rejected at Kolkata Consulate.

-----------------------------------------------
My Visa interview details are given below,
Me: Good Morning,Sir.
VO: Good Morning.(VO has already Document). Are all the statements made by u correct?
Me: Yes,with my best knowledge I have filled the Ds-160 Form.(I scared as I might done some mistake)
VO: How long you are with YYYY company?
Me: 3 years 8 months
VO: What is your Clinet Name?
Me: YYYY (He asked me spelling as he might searched in internet)
VO: How long are you with Client?
Me: 3 Years 8 months
VO: You have visa refusal from Chennai Consulate last year. Why do you have applied this time from Kolkata?
Me: I have been in Kolkata on company deputation for last two month. In the meanwhile I applied for visa (I actually caught the purpose for applying at Kolkata)
VO: you can do it.That is not a issue. But why does Chennai consulate refused your visa last time?
Me: 221(g).........
VO:What thay give you explaination.
Me:Nothing. They only hand overed me blue from mentioned 221 (g).
VO: What do you have specilaized Skill set?
Me: (I have explained as per my petition)...blah, blah
VO: Why Chennai consulate reject you visa?(He might thinking other reasons)
Me: that is 221(g) - improper documentation....
VO : (he is not satisfied with my answers). What do you think the reason?
Me: When I applied L1 Blanket visa last time, I have less experience and less specialized skill. But after 1 year I have very sound knowledge on the applications and highly qualified with specialized skill.
VO : This time I dont have any issue.I am approving your visa.
Me: Thank you.
VO: You can go now.He returned me 2 copies of petition. We will send your passport to your company.

My advice : Be honest always. You cant lie and get Visa.So be honest and confident always.Above all Luck matters.Wish you all the best to future applicants.

L1A / L2 cleared on 28th May 2010
Dear All,

My wife, my kid and I appeared for L1A (for me) and L2 (for my wife and kid) interview at Delhi consulate on 28th may 2010.

The arrangement at the consulate is excellent. Right from entry in the consulate till the interview, every one was very helpful. Initially we were seated cordially, our documents were arranged and sets were prepared. The support staff was polite and well mannered.

Baseed on our token number, we went to a facilitator at a window. He checked the documents, asked a few questions to me and returned the documents with instructions to pay the fees. Once the fees were paid, we went to a window for finger printing. My wife and I were finger printed whwereas my 9 year old son was not required to do so. Once this was done, we awaited our turn to interact with the VO.

Our turn came within 15 minutes:

VO: Good morning, how are you all?

We: Very well and you Sir?

VO: Good, Thanks.

The VO asked for the document sets. After reviewing,

VO: How long are you in your current company?

I: xx Years and yy months.

VO: What was your previous company?

I: ABC

VO: Oh, I see. (He new ABC, being a well known multi-mational).

VO: How long in ABC?

I: mm years and ss months.

VO: What do you currently do in your company?

I: Exoplained my management responsibilities in 4 statements.

VO: Where in US are you going Sir?

I: Told my parent US company address.

VO: (To my wife) Do you work?

My Wife: No.

VO: (To my kid with a smile on face) Which school do you go to?

My Kid: Told the school name.

VO: Which standard are you in?

My Kid: Fourth, and displayed four fingers.

To this the VO had a laugh.

After a minute of typing on the PC and writing on the papers:

VO: Your Visa is approved and you will receive the passports in a week. He returned I129s to me.

The VO was very nice and friendly.

Points to remember:

1. For L1A, be in business attire with a tie.
2. Answer VO's questions to the point.
3. Explain your management responsibilities precisely and in brief.

I was very impressed with US embassy in Delhi as the staff there is helpful and polite.

Hi All,

Thanks a lot for the help it is a great website where you can get all the information regarding the questions that would be asked.

Process is simple.......if you have confidence and do not mess up things.....

My VO was very good........

Questions
---------------
VO: Gud Mrng
ME: Gud Mrng Sir, How r u?
VO: Fine till now, Documents
VO: What are you going to do in US?
ME: I answered, plz do not prepare more, just tell them in a line or two about ur project and your reponsibilities
VO: Where you would stay in client place?
ME: I said No (This was the biggest Mistake that i did)and told at my comapany at US which is wrong.
VO: There was questions like how i would collect requirements if i am at my company's office.
ME: Realised that i messed already atleast let me be honest and applogized with him and told him that i was tensed and blabbered something plz give me one more chance to tell correctly VO was kind enough to give me one more chance. This time i told the truth
VO: I have approved your VISA because of your honesty otherwise i would have refused.

After the interview another half an hour i never realized wat exactly happened inside.....i was in a shock

So what i would suggest is just prepare what you want to say.......be confident and pray to GOD....only GOD's grace helped me nothing else.....
