Hi All,

this is a great forum indeed. helped us a lot to prepare.

my wife applied as L1A and my son and me accompanied my wife as L2. interestingly no questings to us.
to my wife, she asked- whats your role at USA? how many people reporting to you? show your salary docs.

then said, you will get your passport in a week.

one point to inform all- on confirmation page of your visa application- bar code is a must, if not appearing, you may need to redo. just reconfirm bar code is clear. due to the inconsistancy in ceac.state.go website, many prople had to do application again.

L1B Approved at Hyderabad
Hi All,

My L1B got approved today. Thanks to this site. I gone through 4-5 pages of this site and got insight about what kind of questions visa officer might ask. It was really helpful.
I was asked couple of questions only:
Q- Why are you going to US?
A- blah..blah
Q- Who is your client
A- XYZ
Q- Can you please spell out
A- spelled out
VO- you will get your passport in few days.

Points to remember:
1. Be cool and composed
2. Dont hurry up in answering

Thanks

L1 Blanket approved along with spouse and child
Hello All,
Thank you all members who had shared their experience before.
Today my L1-Blanket visa was approved at hyderabad.
My interview time was at 10 A.M. we arrived at 9:25 they allowed us at 9:30.

I really liked the Consulate folks for giving preference to those who had infants with them, like I do and allowed us inside quickly without waiting in queue for long time.

Also, I did not take the visa appointment for my child but mine and my spouse appointments were booked earlier. As I got my child's passport one day before so I could not take the appointment and also It was less that 48 hrs to take a time slot, yet the folks allowed us inside.

After submitting docs and paying fees and we then proceded for finger prints and finally interview.

ME: Good morning mam
VO: no reply (very seriously typing something)
VO: Which company you work for ?
Me: I told xyz
VO oh xyz
VO How long you have been working with xyz?
ME: about x yrs
VO: why you are going to U.S ?
ME: ..then blah..blah.
VO: Carry these docs while you travel to U.S and gave my I-129
Me: Shocked and thought visa was rejected as I could not hear it properly. I was expecting " Your visa is approved" from her.
VO: After typing something Then she told your Visa is approved and will be getting the passports in weekdays.
ME : Thank you mam.

Finally we came out with a smile.
My advice to those who are going to Visa.
1) Be sure that you have all the docs ready with you.

2) Getting visa is not a big deal if you are confidant and you are genuine. to me getting visa is 99%genunity + 1% luck.

3) Be sure when you are talking to VO, give the answers to the point, dont showoff you technical skills or your verbal skills. This is not a JOB interview, this is a place to show you genunity and convince the VO about you goals.

Hope this helps to some one.

Cheers

Visa Approved under 'Administrative Processing' 221(g)
Hey all Visa applicants.
I went for Visa Interview recently to the Hyderabad US Consulate for my L1 Blanket Visa with my Spouse and Kid , but they had put me in to Administrative processing by asking me to fill a WHITE Form which had very basic info..Like ( Where are going, Skills , Specialization , education Qualications etc )...
They told me that it will take 2 weeks for Admin processing and they kept my passport and they also gave me a Case number to track on the Consulate website ...
week by week passed but my case was showing pending ..pending .......
On day ( 3rd week ) ..I finally did not see my case number in the PDF .. and saw that the passport was dispatched on the VFS website ....
AND I GOT MY PASSPORT WITH STAMPED VISA ..

Let me tell you nothing to get scared of this ADMIN PROCESSING , even you will get stamped ..believe in god ...its only a background checks ...may be its more for people going with family or first time ...
All d best.

Hello friends,

I attended the consulate interview here at Hyderabad. The surroundings were bit scary with CRPF, Police wearing bullet_proof, AK-47s :) I understand that could be because of various reasons as we know them all.

The thing that attracted me here was - Once you are inside the main gate, you encounter people who are soft, polite and guide you real nice.

My Experience in order -

1) Security check, this is really too tight. Ask you take-out everything like watch, wallet, belt. Pass them through scanner and return you back. Typical US style :)

2) Cash Counter - Guy will collect your DD, arrange your documents in order and give you back, asking you not to alter the order.

3) Visa waiting area - A lady gave me the token number (a numeric)

4) Finger Scanning - She calls you back with your token (a numeric). Need to give the scan of your fingers and thumb fingers of both hands. Here is where we first encounter Us people (here in Hyderabad)

5)Back to Visa waiting area - Now comes the real token number (Alphabet - followed by a numeric) say some E57, C105, A34 etc., etc.,. I guess they are all same, but to simply direct people to different counters.

6)After few minutes, A LCD Screen with speaker enabled will shout your token number and counter number. (This wont take much time, so waiting time here is less)

(Guys/Girls please be cool, haha, nothing to worry here......and dont be tensed, not at all required)

7) Just goto designated counter where VO awaits you. Hand over your documents to him, and wish him -

me - Hello, how u doin?
vo - I am doing perfect, how u doin?
me - perfect.

For me theres just 1 question -

1) Why are you visiting US?
Ans) I am a specialized skilled person from my company/project and the client requires me to work at US in his project.

He stamped my Visa papers, and a normal dialogue-
1) Your Visa is approved, will receive your passport in a few days time.

Success formula -

1) Be cool and keep smiling.

Prabhu
