New OCI Adult - SFO - Received
Quick update for benefit of others:
1) March 11: Application RCVD by VFS according to fedex: March 11
2) March 20: Application shows in VFS system
3) March 25: Application Processed by VFS and in transit to embassy email
4) March 28: Consulate acknowledgement status updated in the ociservices website https://ociservices.gov.in/welcome
5) May 3: Documented processed in ocisrervices
6) May 5: Document dispatched
7) May 12: Document received in consulate
8) May 13: Document received by VFS + Email from VFS with courier tracking
9) May 14: OCI received at home - almost 2 months from sending application to VFS
10) May 14: Started having nightmares about needing to deal with this BS again in a few years

Minor OCI renewal - New York consulate
Here is the timeline for my child’s OCI card renewal (due to reissue of her US passport) at New York application center.
March 22: Dropped application package at FedEx
March 23: Package was delivered to VFS NY application center
VFS Site (Email and SMS)
March 24: Your application is received at VFS. You will receive an update once it is processed at VFS. Avg processing time at Mission is 4-6 weeks except Tatkal cases.
April 20: Your application has been processed at the VFS center and is submitted to the Mission for decision making

April 22: Date of acknowledgement
May 6: Document printing status “processed”
May 6: Dispatched from MEA (OCI) New Delhi

Scanning the Notarized Copy of US Passport or Not ?
Hello Folks,
I have completed Part A and B of the New Adult OCI card Application.
When I was going to upload the required documents into the government portal. I had second thoughts.
Do we need to Scan and upload the Notarized copy of the US Passport and other documents in the Government portal?
Or
Scan and upload Just a Copy of the US Passport/documents and later on send the notarized copy along with other hard copies to VFS.
What all documents need to be notarized? And what all need to be self-attested?

OCI Adult SFO
Both wife and I received Date Of Acknowledgment March 31st 2021 from Embassy SFO. My status shows document received at SFO embassy as May 13th 2021 (IST). My wife' s status still just shows "UNDER-PROCESS". Is this normal even though we received ack on same day (31 March 2021)? we tried emailing helpdesk-oci[at]gov.in but no response from them. The whole experience looks weird and complete black box to me. Hope and wish good luck to every one who are applying to have better experiences.

Place of Birth and Marital Status
I am trying to fill out a New Adult OCI application. I stumbled upon these questions?
1.Place of Birth? what shall I put? INDIA
2. Country of Birth? Same as Place of Birth? INDIA
Shall, I fill According to Indian Passport ? or according to USA Passport?
3. I am a Divorcee.
So, the Marital status question is straightforward: Divorced.
But in the spouse details, do I need to give
Spouse name and nationality?
4. In the OCI- Registration part B.
Previous nationality of applicants if any?
Shall I put it as Indian as I am currently a US Citizen?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

OCI STATUS is showing as "Under review process" on the VFS website, but it shows as processed on the GOI website. Does this mean OCI is approved or is it still under review? Please help

OCI miscellaneous Part B
While filling up the part B of OCI miscelleneous, it suddenly disappeared..Even if I reenter the temporary file no. to continue the part b, it is not showing me the part b to fill up though I enter the temporary no. to continue the part b. How will I go to the Part B form?
