While filling up the part B section of Miscellaneous, it is asking me he old Indian passport no. which I renunciated or cancelled before getting the American citizenship. I don't have that very old Indian passport to give this no. What should I do?

OCI at San Francisco VFS
i applied for OCI around Feb 15
2 weeks later i recieved my US passport back
March they requested for additional documents
Around March 20, they send my file to indian consulate office
April 28 received my OCI in mail

VFS - Response to missing documents
I responded to a VFS request for documents with self-attestation and they received the courier on Monday(05/03). I haven't heard from them regarding the receipt of the document. For those who have responded to VFS requests, how long does it typically take them to acknowledge? They said in the email that they want our response in 7 days.

Indian Born but No Indian Passport - Can I get OCI still for me to Retire in India?
Hi, I was born in India but at the early age, I migrated to Canada and I don't have Indian Passport anymore and been here in Canada for more than 50Years and wants to Retire in India now.
Can I get OCI if I don't have Indian Passport and my parents have passed away as well so there is no way for me to get Indian Passport or information.
What chances do I stand to get an OCI so I can retire in India?

New OCI: if Married, and Spouse name is specified in Govt OCI Online Application Form, is Marriage Certificate required to be mailed with application?
I'm applying for a new Adult OCI, and would prefer to get the OCI WITHOUT my spouse's name on it (both of us were born in India).
However, the Govt of India OCI Online Application Form asks for Spouse details if you select 'Married' for Marital Status - regardless of whether you choose YES or NO to the question 'Are you applying OCI on the basis of Indian Spouse/ Spouse's OCI-Card?'
The VFSGlobal Checklist includes Marriage Certificate as a requirement (OR a 'Copy of Indian passport containing the name of spouse' - whatever that means) per the section below:
If you are married and mention the name of your spouse on the OCI application, then you must submit.
- Copy of Marriage Certificate; or
- Copy of Indian passport containing the name of spouse along with original notarized declaration for current spouse name.
So, if you applied for a new Adult OCI as a Married person, and entered your spouse details on the Govt of India Online application - did you include your Marriage Certificate in the documents mailed to VFS? And if you did not, did VFS then ask for it?

When applying for an Adult OCI card, does the ORIGINAL Indian Passport (Cancelled) need to be mailed in - or just a copy
When applying for an Adult OCI card after renunciation is complete (and a Surrender Certificate obtained), does the ORIGINAL Cancelled Indian Passport need to be mailed with the application - or just a copy of the 1st 3 & last 2 pages?
The VFS instructions are quite confusing - so hoping someone who's applied for an OCI recently can confirm. I'd rather not mail the original if it's not required.

Minor OCI Query regarding self attest passport copy.
For Minor New OCI. Since the new instruction is to send only copy of the self attest US Passport and not the original.
Will the self attest from 1 of the parents suffice or we need to send without sign?

New OCI - San Francisco - weird problem
My OCI application was delivered to VFS SF on April 5, and acknowledged by VFS on April 6. Zero status emails from them since then (over 3 weeks), except US Passport was sent back within 8 days (which I thought was a good sign). However, zero emails and TRACK YOUR APPLICATION consistently says INVALID INPUTS. So, I finally called the VFS contact number today and was told they had requested some additional docs. When I told her I had zero email from VFS about this, I got less than useful advice about trying a different computer, checking my spam/trash folders, delete cookies and retry, etc - all while adding minutes to the call and charging big $s. She said she would escalate but God knows what that means! In the meantime she did say they are waiting on docs from me, so now I am afraid my application will be rejected for not supplying docs within 7 days which I never got any email about. That along with TRACK MY APPLICATION failing is frustrating! Any ideas to resolve this would be appreciated. Thanks.
