Government Shutdown
Is the current ongoing government shutdown causing a delay or rescheduling interviews at USCIS? I have an interview coming up in the first week of the year. Just wondering if its going to get delayed. I have not received any updates. So I suppose, no news is good news. But curious if anyone has received any notification from USCIS.

I know USCIS is largely self-funding. But not sure if anything has changed that would cause them to shut down their offices until the issue is resolved.

Interview Today: Fairfax VA
I had my interview. The IO was super nice and everything went smooth, all questions answered etc. He said he does not need anything from me and that he is fine. He, however, said that he can not make a decision because he does not have the file with him and that it is on its way from NVC. Perhaps he was talking about my the file when I first came to US. We placed you in line for your oath ceremony and will send you a notice for Receipt. The IO sais that file is physically coming from NVC. So I am a bit confused. Another friend told me that this means nothing. I don't have an online account as I did not create one within the 90 days of application and the online access code expired. I am checking this on the USCIS case status website. Anyone with this kind of experience will share thier views please?

I'll post more detail about my interview.

Interview timeframe
Good morning all,
I am wondering if anyone in Houston applied after May 2018 has received interview notice.
my case:
FD: May 29 , 2018
DP: June 22, 2018 and have been showing me USCIS reviewing my case since that time.
I can see from following people in different cities, states there is wide variation of processing time. that why I am wondering If any one from Houston applied after May 2018 has got interview scheduled?
Regards .

Could anyone give me any advice? PLEASE.
Hello,
I have been following this forum for a loooong time..

Long story short, I have been denied Citizenship because of the USCIS mess!
I went though Interview, went on Oath and when I was asked has anything happened since the interview and today I said Yes I have gotten a speeding ticket that I carries points, the officer told me that they are giving me 10 days to pay the ticket and send them a DMV letter stating that I have no outstanding fines, immediately I went and paid the ticket, (on the same day as my oath ceremony) and went back gave them a paper stating that I paid the ticket and I have no outstanding tickets then I was told to wait for another date to be scheduled for ceremony, fast forward 2 months NO word from USCIS so I called and lady said that there was denial on my case, saying that I did not respond to their request to pay the ticket... I said that I have DMV proof that I did, but she said they never received it.
3 months go by with me and USCIS of info pass appointments and they advise me to APPLY again for Citizenship, and they will expedite my process because it was due their error.
Here I'm now, 10 months later after I applied the 2nd time for citizenship, no word from them, no expedited process no NOTHING.
I have passed all my exams for local Law Enforcement but they can not swear me in because I'm not a citizen yet, I have missed 3 Academy classes and January looks like will be another.

Could someone PLEASE give me any advice, is it possible to talk to their managers, to ANYONE who could shine some light about on this?

Thank you so much for your time!

Finally had my interview today. I applied on 10/13/2017. After a long wait my status changed to Interview was scheduled on 11/19/2018. Interview was scheduled for 12/26/2018. Went very smooth.. For the civics part answered the first six questions correctly so the interviewer did not ask any additional questions. At the end was told he recommends me for approval and should expect to have the oath ceremony in a month. This forum was a huge help since it took a long long time for the status to change from - in line for interview.

All the best everyone and don't overthink the long wait :)
