Need Help B2 visa for mother and brother
Hi ,

I am applying for B2 visa for my mother and brother. Mother has a small tailoring shop and Brother works in a company(1.5 yrs of exp).

1) Their salary in not much but they have savings and FDs (nearly 10 lac) as my dad takes care of expenses, what should i write in sponsor - "SELF" or "ME"?

2) I am confused if i should take their interview appointment in HYD or MUMBAI ? Wondering which consulate has a better success ratio? Does it matter?

thanks, appreciate help!!

Visitor Visa approved at HYD consulate
I have scheduled finger prints interview a day before Visa interview. I filled only one DS160 for my father and added my mother's
details(passport details) to the same DS-160. When they went to OFC, they didnt allow my mother for not having DS-160 for her. They gave 30 minutes and i was able to quickly create another DS160 for my mother and they took print out and finger printing is done..

Next day, they went for Visa Interview at Hyderabad consulate

VO: How many kids do you have? What do they do?
VO: Which company does your son work for?
VO: What do you do?
Father: Business
VO: What kind of business?
VO: Annual income?
VO:Can you show me the Affidavit?
My parents didn't understand what he is referring to and handed him the documents.
I think he is refering to I-134. He flipped through few documents and told
"Your Visa was approved and will receive passport's in 5-6 days.

B2 Visa Approved in 2nd attempt 25 yrs old !
I am so elated to share my experience with all you guys. I applied for the Us B2 Visa on 16-01-12 @ Delhi and got it approved. This was my second attempt as i had applied on June 12 for the same visa category but was refused on 214b. I am working in a Mnc for the past 2 years and had travelled to almost 20 countries after the first refusal like Australia, Uk, Newzealand, Chaina, France , Spain, Switzerland and on.....! This time i was confident as i had a good travel history and earn around 10lakh pa as salary! However the only obstacle i saw was that i am single and i heard it is very difficult to get a Us Visain single status. But i always knew i am a Genuine Tourist and would be able to convince the Vo. Luck also plays a prominent part in getting the visa.

My Interview

Vo- Good morning Sir

Visitor Visa (B2) Approved
My parents' visitor visas got approved @ Mumbai. We did not hire any agent. Trip was mentioned as self sponsored.

Many of you would know that two appointments are to be scheduled.

1. OFC APPOINTMENT - (Fingerprint & photo)

At this time, officer found that in DS-160 form, we missed to add full given name as mentioned in passport. (Most of Indian passports include father/husband name as well in given name). So, we had to immediately create new DS-160 form in nearby internet cafe and went for fingerprint again on same day. Try to schedule this appointment before or around noon so that you get plenty of time in case you need to correct anything in DS-160 form.

2. CONSULAR APPOINTMENT - (Interview)

This went smoothly. VO asked around 3-4 questions
- To whom you are going to meet in USA?
- What is your son in USA doing?
- How long is he there in USA?
- Do you have any other kids in India?

And visa got approved.

Prepare for common questions. We had prepared for below questions.

Purpose of Visit.
Who is there in USA?
Duration of stay?
Where is your son living?
Where is your son working?
How many kids you have?
What is your son's qualification?
what company does he work for?
what is your annual income?
What are your other kids doing?
Are you getting pension? (if retired)
who is sponsoring your trip?
What are you doing?
Show me your son's passport copy.
Where are you living?
How much land you have?
when was last time your son in India?
Since when your son is working?
Since when your son is in USA?

- Give smile & say good morning when you enter for interview. :))

Passed the US Visa Interview in Manila-Non Immigrant.
@7:30am i went to US Embassy in Manila Today Jan 4, 2012 for my scheduled interview, since its my first time to take US Visa, im bit scared, nervous, mixed emotion and dont know how to start... I just follow the crowd and the DFA Manila staff had assisted us properly where to go after you get a number, fall in line , Pre screening process, finger print and interview process, the crowd was full and the interview goes for only 5minutes:
Questions asked:
1. He ask about the name of the person sponsoring my visit
2. Who will sponsor your ticket and accomodation
4. Do you have relative in the US
5. What is your job
6.. How long you have been graduated
7. Which place your going for visit in the USA
8. Did you travel internationally

Questions are interrelated, he is doing follow up question for every answer that you give. He even ask me to spell the name of my company, he even misspell, just to give me a trick whether i will answer it correctly. The consul didn't even get any supporting documents, i just answer all his question properly and correctly base on the application form that i filled up.

I actually prepare 14 question for my interview, practise it and memorize my answer. I do a research and I'am lucky and happy i find this IMMIHELP, its a great help, everyone share a lot and help me to be confident in taken my US Visa interview.

They will courier my passport by next week and looking forward for the US VISA STAMP-Non Immigrant in my passport.

For those who have a scheduled interview, Be prepare for all the possible question, Be confident in answering, and PRAY always, because if your alone God will guide you what answer you will say.

And always greet them Good Morning and smile, just to relieve your tension while taken your turn for the Interview..

Good Luck ! Hope you can pass it ..Just like i Did today!

Approved 10 years multiple entry
I am a young professional residing in Jamaica, went to the Embassy in Kingston Jamaica. Appointment on December 17, 2012 at 7:30 am and got through by 9:30am

I prayed and used this website to prepare for my interview. I want to thank God and the persons behind immihelp website and everyone that shared their experiences. I had used this website to prepared for the interview and wrote down a few questions and practiced. I learned from the website that it important to demonstrate strong ties to your country. My situation is this; I had been working for 1 year, I am single, no children, Dad lives in USA (I did put that on the form too); I had been rejected in 2010 but judging from now I was never prepared for the interview..

I did not lie, I told them the truth to all the questions they asked me

The questions were:

1, Are you in school?
2. Where? (I told them at this point that my primary duty is work)
3. Where do you work?
4. What do you do?
5.How many times you been on the work and travel programme? (I had travelled twice on the work and travel programme with a J1- visa 2007 and 2008)
6.What do you study now? (I am now doing a Masters in ............................................)
7.What you study in your first degree?
8.Is it at .............................university?
9.How long have you been in your Job?
10.What is your salary after tax? (becasue i wanted to show ties, I explain my salary in that; I have a basic pay of ..............after tax plus an additional ........................for motor vehicle upkeep becasue I am a traveling officer;;;;;; )..Please note that is the truth....The job and the car is two strong ties
11.How long you plan to stay? (I told her,,,NO more than 2 weeks because i have to return to my Job, only got ...............days vacation from work)
12.Who you plan to visit?
13. Where did you visit during the work and travel programme?
14. Where you want to go?
15. Have you ever been issued a visitors visa?

Then she said visa is approved and enjoy your trip..She did not ask to see any document or anything about my dad...However I had pinned my workers ID on my blouse so she could see it and had my car key in hand..

Three days later I picked up my passport at the delivery service and I got a 10 year visa.

This website is very helpful and I made it my duty to share my experience.

Key
Pray, Prepare, be confident, dress well
