Post visa interview
After the end of interview for NIV my passport was retained by the Consular and I was told that they will contact me if any further information is required. No letter was given to me and I dont find my application listed under pending administrative processing category. Its now more than 60 days and I don't get proper response from their helpline. There is no way the Consulate can be contacted directly. Meanwhile I cannot even apply for visa to any other country for business or visit purpose.
Can anyone suggest how can I get back my passport ?

No Parents Surname so used the given names as first and last name in DS 160 form
Hello there,

I am inviting my parent to visit me. I went ahead and filled DS 160 form for both of them. Since they did not had the surname i ended up filling there given names in both first and last name section. Now i am concerned how will that affect the visa process as they do not have surname in passport but the DS 160 form confirmation page has the name twice.

Please reply as i need to get there visa done. All your help will be appreciated.

Rs tiwari Indore 26-09-2012. Hi All, I would like to share my experience once again .I would pay my heartiest gratitude to immihelp.com because of this sight i got entire information regarding visitor visa, accordingly i prepared my all documents and as per questionnaire all answers were ready to reply resulting visitor visa approval.Earlier on 25-09-2012 i have mentioned my visa interview, one more information to add that they did not asked me a single document. Online Ds-160 application is a main document.Fill it carefully and if you are filing through any agent, do not fully rely on them because they are all professionals so you have to worry about and take care of.

DON'T HIRE ANY AGENT!!
Like my experience suggests, I advise you NOT to hire a Visa agent. INTERNET and IMMIHELP is your visa agent!

Visa agents - they don't lose or gain ANYTHING if you get or do not get visa. So yes, they might not be serious about making you successful.

If you read all the experiences in here carefully, and prepare accordingly, you will be successful no doubt.

When I went for Visa the 2nd time, a guy next to me had really bad experience with Agent back in 1990. His agent said YES in the DS160 form that asked "Are you terrorist??"!!!

And since then, no matter what he tried, each time he was asked about this same incident and was refused visa!!

Imagine if your agent makes any such mistake. Better DO IT YOURSELF. There's no one else who can take better care of you than yourself!

And seriously, if we have INTERNET and IMMIHELP site to help us, do we really need anything else??
