Approved 2 years after first refusal
I am 32 single male and Thanks to this site I was well prepared for my second B2 interview. I arrived early but there was over 100 ppl in line. Interview was 8:55am very nervous but remained calm and made up my mind to do a good interview even if they want to refuse. Questions:
Why visit the US? Who is there? How long? Which countries have u visited? Why? How can u afford? What do u do? What is ur income? Who do u live with? What work ur parents do? About ten minutes into the interview power outage in the embassy. VO smiles and apologise. Continues to question after back up power comes on. Asked a lot of question about job and grants visa. 10 years. I always used to say their system was unfair, I mean how can u judge someone during a couple of minutes but u know I think they are experts and can detect lies so just speak the truth and u will be granted your visa.

Father visa got rejected at mumbai
Hi,

Thanks to this site for giving all the information and guidance.

My father's visitor visa got rejected. He is widower and retired.
I sponsered his visa and sent all docs.
 Questions asked :

1.where does daughter work?
 2.wht do u do? retire
3.what is ur pension ? 20,000 per anum
VO started laughing,he said annually or monthly? father said annully,as he was working in textile mills so his pension is so less though it was a central gov job. After looking at computer details for almost 5 mins,he asked what kind of work u used to do? Bang!

I know there are less chances as widowed and retired, but papa works as volunteer for one NGO though he does nt get paid.It was mentioned in ds 160.I am on l1 from last 16 months here in US and want my father to meet me and visit US.

He has mumbai apartment on his name and sufficient fixed deposits in bank.He carried all the docs but did nt get chance to say anything on it.He was trying to explain about property etc but VO was looking into computer continously searching something and as his interpreter was not telling anything what papa was trying to say.His interview was in marathi.

I am planning to reapply, any suggestions? or any chances of getting visa?
He was carrying invitation and letter to consulate explaining all the scenarios of his retirment and why he wants to come back but he was not able to show those letters and property docs as VO was not paying attention and interpreter didnt help.
He got 214(b) letter after rejection.
I really want my father to visit US and spend some time with me.
Let me know if anything i can add and reapply.
