Visitor visa approved for parents
First of all thanks to all the users who posted their experience.
Following ques were asked for my parents.
1. Who is there in US
2. Who is sponsering
3. What do you do
4. Have you visited any other countries

Interview was in Kannada and all went well. Not even single documents were asked. I had prepared for all type of questions posted by the users in immihelp which I guess helped my parents to be confident.

Good luck !

1) Purpose of going?
- To attend my sons graduation ceremony
2) what do you do?
- I have a business of xyz
3) sorry we cant grant you visas!

When asked fo reason, VO said you will find it in the paper given.. It was nothing but standard rejection paper!!

Should they try again? Please reply.. is there any possibility that they would get visa if they try again in my case??

Visitor Visa Experience Hyderabad
Visitor Visa Experience Hyderabad

My parents visitor visa has been rejected in hyderabad.
I am still trying to figure out what is the reason. I had every document and my parents answered correctly.
This is the 3rd time they have rejected. I am really confused and is frustrating me.

Questions asked to my parents:
Where are you going?
My father told my adress
VO: why do you want to go?
Father: To see my son, daughter-in-law, grandson and to see US.
VO: what do you do?
Father: Teached at XYZ school.
VO: When did your son first go to US?
Father: 2006
VO: when did he come back for vacation?
Father: 2008 for his wedding.
VO: How long do you want the visa?
Father: 2 - 3 months or whatever you give.
VO: Give me bank statement?
Father: He was pulling the document. VO asked to give the file. He handed over the file.
VO scrolled through all pages and said sorry.
214B was issued when my father asked the reason they were told the paper has information. It has nothing its standard 214B.

Its really confusing and frustrating.

I am planning to try separately for my mom first and then dad.

A) Answered. Tourism and visiting purposes.

2) How long will be your stay?
A) 2 weeks

3) Who lives in America?

Then ...VO said, we are giving you visa , your passports will be sent in a week.

Waiting for passports now.

I am so happy.

All the Best for all those guys who are sponsoring visitor visas..

General Tips:-
1) Keep a set of all documents and I have prepared them to give the correct doc if asked.
2) Answer in way that you are mainly coming USA to visit places not me as its a Visitor Visa.
3) Always speak as per the data we provide in DS forms. Try to provide all correct data.

Once again Thank you all.....

Thanks to this great website with the help of which i could get a 10 year multiple entry. So let me share my experience too.

Just like any other person I too was frightened I would be rejected even though I had perfect documentation (may be the VO would be in a bad mood, may be my luck wasnt enough and what not).Start with the documentation part.Though I wasnt asked to show any of my documents this gives you the confidence in your presentation. In the order of importance :

1)Original Passport with HDFC receipt,Interview appointment letter and CEAC Bar code (the only thing with which your interview may finish )

2)Academics (if applicable) all your mark lists, diploma and so on

3)Finances of your sponsor.A CA report citing your assets with the originals for each and every mentioned asset (Parents annual income if they sponsor you,Bank balances,Fixed deposits,Movable and Immovable properties,IT forms etc)

4)A hard copy of your Visa Photo

5)Affidavit of support from your sponsor (i dont think its required)

You can reach the Consulate just half an hour early to avoid running down your energy. They wont allow you more than 15 mins before your interview time anyway. The interview time is when you are allowed to enter in.The actual interview may take a couple of hours .
Just carry the file with documents and nothing else(not even a wallet or mobile) to avoid unnecessary delay at security check.Do not overdress .A suit is definitely not a necessity be it for a man or a woman.Dress comfortably but without any eye catching stuff.(some parents are adviced to put more gold to prove their wealth,I personally cant comment on it).

After the security check where you are asked to remove your bangles, shoes, watch, belt, what not;you are allowed into a counter where your appointment letter is checked first. There might be a necessity for a Photo here incase you dont have the photo you can get it taken by a photographer available there. So you can carry some money in your file(always a safe option). Then you go to a fingerprints counter after which you receive a token and are asked in a waiting hall till you hear the announcement for your token number. It asks you to go to a counter number and you usually find a couple of candidates before you ate counter. You can overhear their conversation too.
The VO is separated from us with a bullet proof glass just like the bank counter and there is a opening below the glass to pass your documents.

Greet the VO with the widest smile possible before he/she greets you.Answer everything confidently. You get the confidence only when you are ready with the proof for whatever you speak.

I would say the VO gives you every chance to eplain your cause. They dont reject you outright. They just do it when you fail to explain/convince them.

all the very best everyone .

221g Pink slip at Chennai
My inlaws attended the Interview on Jan 12 at chennai consulate. They were carrying all the documents I had sent- Affidavit form, tax forms, payslip, bank stmts etc etc, but VO didn't ask for anything.
To my FIL - Where do you work?
To my MIL - He read aloud her employer name from DS-156 and asked What is your designation at work? (Her institution has a name with "research centre" at the end)
To my MIL - Do you have research there? For which she said Yes! (She thought the question was whether there is research at the organization and said yes! However she is not part of any research activities there. But she didn't correct it since I told that even if they reject don't argue).
Then VO kept the passport, took the 221(g) pink slip and told to go to next counter. They asked for her resume for which she told, she don't have it.
They told to e-mail all the documents mentioned on 221(g)!
For my FIL I was confused since they kept the passport and didn't say it was Approved.

However after 2 weeks my FIL got his passport with 10 years ME visa stamped
For MIL it is still on "Send Information" status at their website(After ~1 month)
