B1/B2 visa granted at first attempt.
I am 23 years female.I have never travelled to any other country before, this was the first time I was applying for visa.I read many blogs on net stating that its very difficult getting visitors visa for young unmarried females. But believe me its nothing like that, its just that you should be genuine and confident. Even I got scared after learning all these stuffs from different people and websites, but I trusted god and went with confident for the Visa interview at Mumbai Consulate. The VO asked me the purpose of visit, where I am working, how much is my annual earning and how am I going to finance my trip. After that she told me OK we will issue you the visa.My purpose to vist US was personal and not related to business, but next day when I received my visa I was glad to see that I got 10 years multiple entry B1/B2 visa.

2nd Attempt Visa granted to my mother
First time both my dad and mom attended the interview and consulate denied the visa. I think the main reason is purpose of the visit and duration of the stay. We have given typical reason like visiting son and pleasure. Duration of the stay also we have mentioned like 6 months.

Next time I asked only my mom to attend - Tamil language. This time gave specific reason to visit US and the duration also 2 months. VO granted 10 years B2 Visa.

Hello,
This site is really wonderful. I applied for a tourist visa for the first time, I prepared all the documents with help from here, and did not require any travel agent's assistance whatsoever. I had my VISA interview today, the Consular asked a few quick questions bout my parents professions and my university, my purpose of visi, the place I'm visiting (Me and my sister are travelling alone, will be staying at a distant relative's place), and he then told me that he's issuing us ous visas

Thanks again IMMIHELP and thank you all of you who've posted their experiences!!!

Visitors Visa approved - Telugu - Hyderabad - Sep 24th
Hi All,

Immihelp has been helpfull in providing a place to write visa experiences which I think is the most important part of preparation for visa.

Here's my case.

My parents attented the visa on Sep 24th, and have been issued a 10 yr multiple, got the passport the second day after attending the visa.

Alternate option is to pick the passport from the consulate itself the day after the interivew between 3 and 4.

We had interview scheduled in Telugu. The visa officer herself asked questions in telugu.

Here are the questions.

To Father : Why do you want to go to US?
How long was your son in the US?
Where is he working?
Can I take a look at his passport?

To Mother: Same questions were asked along with
Where is your younger son?
Answered appropriately, my brother is doing his masters in the USA too.

The interveiw went pretty well, visitors visa at the hyd consulate seems to be pretty liberal. Saying that we had all the documentation well set, even though they were not asked for.

Thank you and good luck.
