Visitor Visa - Mumbai
I have come to US on L1 visa around 2 months back and I wanted to bring my mom on visitor visa for few months.
So had applied for the same in Mumbai (language - Gujarati). Interview date was 19th nov. And her interview went fine and her visa was Approved !
I took help from this site, for all the preparations to be done for her(documentation & interview).

Interview questions asked:

1. For how long you are going (Ans: 1 to 2 months)?
2. Is he the only son (this was confirmed twice)?
3. Who pays your expenses here (my son)?
4. Who all are there in your family (bro, sister, mom..)?
5. Do you take care of your mom (she answered YES)?
6. For which company does your son work for?
7. How much is he paid?

Visa Approved in first time!

My mom and dad had their interview todday.
Questions asked to my dad

1)What do you do?
Ans) Business Man
2)Why do you want to visit?
Ans) visit daughter n son in law

to my mom:
1) How many children you have?
Ans)4
2)How many in India?
Ans)3

These were the only questions asked, they were not asked to produce any documents, hardly 2min.

The officer told them that their visa has been approved and took their passport, however he handed over a blue slip to my father with the first option ticked i think it read administrative processing. What does this mean? is it normal?will my father get the visa or not?

Visitor Visa in Hyderabad
My Parents went for Visitor Visa yesterday Nov 12th in Hyderbad consulate. They were asked just 3 questions & they were told that they granted the visa & passports will be couriered to home address.we dont know yet how long they have been granted visa yet. The questions were as follows.

1) Where is your son working in US & what does he do?
2)How many children do you have?
3) what do you do? ( to my father ).

PS:My Dad is retired govt employee & i am his only son living in US. Hope this helps because there is notion out there that if there is only 1 child & parents are retired the chances of Visa rejection are more. Just be straight forward in answering all questions & carry all relevant documents as suggested by this site even if they ask or not. The whole process took only less than 20min including secuity checkup & finger printing along with interview.Good luck to all who is scheduled for visa in coming days.

Thanks,
-Satya

My interview was like

VO : What do you study??
ME : XX course at YY college
VO : You have mentioned your uncle stays in US
ME : Yes
VO : Is he a Citizen?

ME : No
VO : Can i have a look at your Resume?
ME : I dont have it with me now, but i do have

He asks me for the letter, but doesnt even bother to look at it. Scribbles something on my application form...Takes a long look at my passport

VO : You look much younger in person

I blush

VO : Okay, You have been issued a Visa for a year

I was dressed in very formal attire, a Full hands Tee and light Blue Jeans. I gave him confident answers as i knew nothing was Fake.

B1/B2 visa granted at first attempt.
I am 23 years female.I have never travelled to any other country before, this was the first time I was applying for visa.I read many blogs on net stating that its very difficult getting visitors visa for young unmarried females. But believe me its nothing like that, its just that you should be genuine and confident. Even I got scared after learning all these stuffs from different people and websites, but I trusted god and went with confident for the Visa interview at Mumbai Consulate. The VO asked me the purpose of visit, where I am working, how much is my annual earning and how am I going to finance my trip. After that she told me OK we will issue you the visa.My purpose to vist US was personal and not related to business, but next day when I received my visa I was glad to see that I got 10 years multiple entry B1/B2 visa.
