My parents had their appt at chennai counsalate at 10:45AM 7/24/2009. They got their visa without any issues. Only 3 questions asked. None of the documenst were checked except for D-156 and passport. Even getting appointment was a breeze. Thank you Immi and others who posted their experience.

Thanks much to immihelp. I just followed the procedure given in the site and by god's grace, my parents got B2 visa at chennai consulate.

They attended the interview in Kannada. The officer asked just 4 questions.

Where is your son working
How many children do you have
How long are you in service
What visa is your son on

After this, they said the visa is granted.

Mother Got Visa(Hyderbad Consulate)
My mother got visa at the Hyderabad consulate. We were a little skeptical because my father passed away a couple of years ago.

She was interviewed in Hindi by an Indian officer, Note: not a translator.. No American consular officer was present. She was asked only 3-4 questions

Q) Who are you visiting?
A) My daughter

Q) Where does she live and where does she work?
A) NJ and <name of the company>

Q) Where is your husband?
A) answered

Consular Officer: You have been issued a visa.. Have a nice trip to the US

No documents were checked.. Although we had very carefully organized everything.

Thanks to immihelp for the guidance with document and interview preparation.
Readers expereinces are very very useful . I would encourage everyone to take some time out and post their experience.

Visa Granted- Mumbai
Just to keep you'll updated, I appeared for an interview on the 18th June along with my parents and I must say that I got my visa approved- Its 10yrs multiple entry.

I appeared for an interview on 18-06-2009 along with my parents at the Mumbai Consulate. My interview was scheduled at 0900 however I entered the consulate at 11.30 and was in by 1200 for the interview. The interview lasted for a cool 40 mins and I was interviewed by an American.
My sister in law is on H1 and my brother on H4 and my niece is an American citizen. I was the only one asked all the questions, not even a single question asked to my parents. The Visa Officer was asking questions pertaining to my DS-156 & DS-157. He was more into asking questions about my stay in USA, lots of questions were asked about the sister in law’s work, her tax returns and employment letter. Documents asked: My sister in law’s Employment Letter, Her H1B approval and my leave approval letter. He asked my about my brother’s family- I offered to show him some photographs and he responded- I am least bothered to check the pictures, just keep it with yourself. 
Also there was some technical error on his computer for about 5 mins. He stressed on the illegal stay and also warned that I along with my parents and Brother’s family will be deported out of the country and all the assets will be confiscated. He must have educated me at least 3 times about the same.
One thing I was amazed is that he kept staring at my UK visa at least 8-10 times. May be he wanted to check the authenticity of the same. 
I must say that the overall experience was simply fantabulous.

Cheers…!!!

Mom did the wonder!!!!!!!!
Further update!!

During entry checking, my father was asked to take new photograph without glasses to match the photo in his passport. Thought it was not a hassle, it took some time. Since consulate had facility within the premises itself, it was not a problem.

Best regards,
VVK

B2 Visa
Hi All,

Thanks to this website which helped us with lot of information.

My parents had interview appointment at 11.30 am @ Chennai Consulate.
I believe it was very crowded and they had to wait for a long time.
They got interviewed around 2.30 pm with the following queries :

To Dad :::
What do you do ?
Do you have anybody there in USA?
What is the purpose of going to USA?

To Mom :::
What do you do?
How many children do you have?
What is the purpose of going to USA?

My parents took all the documentation needed. But they did not ask for any of them.
Interview was for short time and smooth.

Officer told that visa will is issued and passport will be mailed.

Few areas I would like to suggest:

1) Please be confident and positive in whatever you communicate no matter what .
2 )Please provide answers to the point.
3 )Please carry all possible documentations.

Thanks Lots Again
