My interview was on 16th March and submitted documents on 18th but, did not receive any confirmation email from Mumbai consulate about documents received. I called NVC and they confirmed documents have been received. Now just waiting for consulate email or any status update.

04/28/2015 - Submitted documents - green slip, copy of email, passport and copy of I797
04/29/2015 - status updated date
04/30/2015 - Status - Issued.
05/04/2015 - passport collected

After answering basic Q's like what's my Employer's Name and Client's Name. I was asked DL, pay stubs, LCA, I 129 and offer Letter.
My DL was out of state. I took my Utility bills as Address proof but that didn't work.
**Make sure you carry the DL from the state you are working/residing**
Later there were questions on my Major, also there was a conflict with my Major and current Job. I tried to defend but didn't do a great job.
**Make sure you have a solid answer in above case, do not utter the word Research**
PP, Client Letter, I 797, LCA, Masters Transcript and I 129 was kept by VO and Yellow slip was issued.

Here's my two cents:
All we have to wait is for the case to be updated once(in some cases i have noticed it got updated more than once) and once it is updated, you are almost there. Mostly the very next day it will be issued, in some cases it might take 2 -3 days.

I went for US visa interview on 27th April, 2015 (9.00am). They issued me 221g green form and requested me to submit on '[email protected]' With mentioned documents.
I had submitted all the required documents as per the instruction mentioned in 221g green slip on same day at 1:40pm.
Till now I didn’t got any acknowledgement from them. How to confirmed whether my documents has been submitted to them or not???

I appeared at the Mumbai consulate on 12th March 2015 for my B2 Visa along with my wife, who also applied for her B 2 visa. The interview lasted for just about a minute and the visa officer said that both our visas are approved..However, I was surprised to see that the visa was issued only to my wife and in my case the passport was returned along with a white slip issued under section 221(g) mentioning “This office will contact you via e-mail”. I then checked the visa status on the website and it shows that my visa case is under administrative processing There is no change in status since 12 March 2015
Received mail on 20th April 2015 asking me tosubmit my passport and pending letter to the Consulate General, Mumbai. I submitted the passport and 221 (g) letter on the same date.
The status was changed on 22nd April to issued and I got my passport duly stamped on 23rd April 2015.

Currently, a postdoc and on F1 OPT. Obtained PhD diploma from the same US institution. (PhD Chemistry and Postdoc in Biology)
Second visa interview while on OPT. Prev Exp: First time 221g in April, 2013: Approved visa in May 2013 (Total time taken 36 days)
VO was cool and mentioned that it MIGHT not take that long this time around, when I enquired about the duration of this repeat process

Received an email asking for Passport. April 20,3:40 PM:AP
Submitted Passport: April 22:AP
Status Date Change April 23:AP
Issued April 24
For the guys who visit homeland out of compulsion/recreation:
1) Talk to your employer about possibility of getting STUCK for 6 weeks (if you get it earlier count it as bonus)
2) Make prior arrangements for Rent, Credit Card payments. if needed suspend phone lines, cable, vonage, car insurance.
3) Make sure to bring home some work to satisfy your boss.
4) Finally, Keep Calm and Wait on.
It was tough 2 months!
