Interviewer asked me the following questions:
1797A form
where I am working?
where did you studied?
whats your role?
is this your extension or first time h1 stamping? i said, first time stamping.
She said, she has an issue in the system which is not letting her approve my h1. she also told me that I qualified for h1b, so she was collecting my passport, and asked me to check status in the portal,should be updated in couple days. since there's no way to indicate that she has issue in the system, she was giving me 221(g) but she'll approve the case once the issue is fixed in the system.
It's been already a week and there's no further update. The portal is saying that, my case is under administration process which may take several weeks to months.
what the interviewer told me is completely different than what its showing in the portal.
No update on status as of 12/16/2019
UPDATE: my case is updated today as ISSUED (12/20/2019, after around 13 working days)

09/27/2019 : Attended for my first H1 interview. I did my masters in USA , so this is Change of status from F1 to H1.
Interview: VO asked basic question about employment, employer ,education and continuously typed something in system and said Your application is going into AP. handed over White slip with case number.
10/03/2019: Received call for U.S Consulate and officer asked some questions about project asked me to share details.
10/10/2019:Employer Received call for U.S Consulate about verification.
10/18./2019: Received call again from U.S Consulate asked about my Job.
10/23/2019 : Still AP
11/19/2019: Employer site visit by USCIS
12/20/2019: Still AP
Its been more then 1 month since Employer site visit. But, no update so far.

Immigrant visas CR1/CR2, interview went well but 221g was given - request for a missing document, Police certificate for the minor (CR2 visa beneficiary). The document was not even on the list of the Embassy! The minor is less than 16 y.o. and had never had any problems with police/law. The document was obtained online the same day and submitted via Embassy's contact form online, and since then the status has not been changed, still AP.

I was on F1 for 3.5 years and came to India for my first H1B stamping. Interview lasted for a couple of minutes and the officer asked me general questions about my marital status, city I live in, my income, my F1-OPT start and end date, etc. Then he said he needs to run admin process on my application and took my passport. He also said he has all my documents and need nothing more from me. My CPT, OPT, STEM and H1B were approved for the same company and yet I got 221G :(
