J2 - EAD Applicant
Hey Everyone! :)

I have been following this forum for a while now and it has helped me keep the faith during my EAD process.

My EAD was approved today, October 22, 2018 and I could not be happier!!

It took a total of 105 days for my EAD to be approved.

I just wanted to provide some information on my EAD experience, in hopes that it could help others in the same situation.

I am a Canadian citizen on a J2 visa in the U.S.

I filed my application at the Potomac Service Centre.

No biometrics/ interview required.

No expedite/ SR sent. Did not call USCIS service centre at all.

July 9, 2018- Case was Received
October 22, 2018- New Card is in Production

As a side note, you are ALLOWED to travel back to Canada while your EAD is pending! You must have a travel validated DS-2019 to re-enter the U.S. Traveling back to Canada while your EAD is pending will have NO impact on your application.

As mentioned previously on this forum, the USCIS Case Tracker App is a really great tool! This app allows you to track the status of your case and where it is in relation to cases filed around the same time. My case was approved in numerical order.

For those of you who are in the same situation, please feel free to reply to this post if you have any questions! :)

Good luck and trust the process!

F1 OPT EAD
Hi everyone!

I know some people have been waiting 6 months to a year for their EADs so I mean no disrespect by posting my experience, as I have only been waiting 4 months.

I applied in June for my F1 OPT EAD.
I did not need to submit any fingerprints or attend an interview.
When I applied, the processing time for an F1 EAD was 2-3 months. As of a month ago, it is now 3-5 months.

I left the US to attend my best friend's wedding and was advised to ask my roommates to mail my EAD to me once it arrives. However, I am now sitting in a foreign country waiting for my EAD. I tried to submit an expedite request based on financial loss as I have 2 job offers in hand. It was denied as F1 candidates do not qualify under this category.

Does anyone have any advice on what to do to try and expedite my EAD?
My concern is that my job offers are time-sensitive, and also I am draining my savings staying in a foreign country.

I saw some people are contacting their Congressmen. Is it possible to involve your Congressmen even if you are within the "normal processing range"?

Thank you so much!!

How to do EAD expedite?
My I-765 is pending for 7 months, and still can't get approved.
I saw more people in this website said they called to expedite.
Can someone tell me how to do expedite?

I called 800-375-5283 this afternoon.
I pressed numbers according to voice instructions. But I really can't find a way to talk with customer representative or do any expedite.
If 800-375-5283 is the correct number. Can someone tell me, which number should I press to get customer representative or do expedite?

Waiting for EAD; PD 06/26/2108
Hello everyone!

I have been a silent lurker here and you guys have been so lovely and helpful! I need your advice regarding my EAD concern.

I married my USC husband in May 2018.

Here's my timeline:
AOS ( Family based- married to a USC)

PD: 26th June 2018
Biometrics: 27th July 2018
Ready to schedule for an interview: Since August 1,2018.

USCIS websites only show that my CASE WAS RECEIVED. There was nothing that says that my Biometrics was completed, etc. I asked my lawyer about expediting my EAD but he asked me to just wait but I cant wait any longer. I've been working since finishing college and never had financial problems since then but just staying in the house and helping out in paying bills is taking a toll on me. I'm feeling depressed by not being able to go out to work and earn. I am a workaholic and I always feel a sense of pride and accomplishment whenever I finish an important project in the office. My husband has been very supportive of me telling me everything's gonna be fine and I'll be getting my combo card soon but I cant help but worry.

I'm planning to call USCIS and request to expedite due to severe financial loss on my part. If they ask me to send in a proof, can you guys tell me what documents should I send?

Thanks so much!
