Expedite EAD
hi guys ,

I have a question for those of you who have expedited their EAD.

My Pd is July 9 th (AOS mariage based c9 ) , I am currently in a leave of absence at my work and I am going to lose my job if I am not back by November 17 th I am getting concerned as I also have bills suck as daycare etc.... and soon I would be able to pay them anymore .

Last week I spoke to my lawyer that told me there was nothing that could be done except waiting .

So I called Uscis and they requested a expedite due to financial lost of a individual, my question is does anyone has had a successful expedite case within the 5 days ? Or if I don’t have an answer by this week what is the best step to take to try to move forward and get my EAD ASAP ?

Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks !

Card in hand
Hello fellow filers,

This forum has been very helpful in informing me on how cases are progressing based on people’s experiences, so I want to add my experience and hopefully it helps someone out.

Married to USC. Category C09. Filed from Atlanta, NBC. AOS from F1

Concurrently Filed I-130, I-131, I-485, I-765.

***I-131 was returned because I mistakenly signed in the interpreter’s box instead of applicant’s box***

April 27 - Priority Date
May 9 - Received Date
May 18 - Re-filed I-131
May 22 Received letter for biometrics
June 4 - Biometrics Completed
June 11 - Ready to Be Scheduled for Interview I-485
June 24 - Fingerprint Review Was Completed I-765
-------------
3 months of silence which we all know is depressing….
-------------
Sept 22 - Notice of Approval for I-131 received with effect from Sept 19
Sept 24 - Expedite request based on financial loss over the phone I-765
Sept 25 - Email received to send in additional information I-765
Oct 10 - Case Was Approved I-765 (when I checked in the morning)
Oct 10 - New Card is being Produced (when I checked in the evening)
Oct 11 - I-131 AP document received
Oct 12 - Card Was Mailed to me
Oct 15 - Card Picked up by United States Postal Service (with tracking number)
Oct 17 – Card in hand

Total 173 days

Did not use a lawyer but this is my second filing so have experience from my mistakes the first time. However, I used avvo.com where I listed every document in my application package and asked immigration lawyers to comment on whether they thought my documents were ok to submit and I got a great response.

Also, I did not respond to the expedite request for additional information because I did not have a job offer but I thought that the expedite request will draw their attention to the fact that my I-131 was approved so that will make them approve the I-765 quicker. I honestly don’t know if that worked or not but… I just tried it.

A little more about my immigration journey.

I got married Jan 2017 while still on F1, filed in May 2017 and went for biometrics but got RFE in June because affidavit of support was filed incorrectly. Unfortunately, my sponsor had tax issues I was not aware of and they could not rectify it. My case was eventually. My F1 visa expired July 2017 so I was out of status at some point but I’m back in status now so doesn’t matter.

Then I re-applied in April and that’s where my story from above continues.
My advice is that as long as you filed your documents correctly, just hang in there and your day will come.

If there’s any questions please ask.

Interview experience/question
Hello everyone,
So I wanted to update on my interview which was done on Tuesday..all I have is two words..Surprisingly easy! Let me just say this to give as much clarity..my wife and I have been together for 8 yrs married for over a year, so even though we went in feeling a little nervous like any normal human should, we knew our legitimacy would go before us..no lawyer by the way, and I was such a pleasant experience.
Since I got my work permit early September I've had 3 job interviews, and my green card interview was easier and more pleasant than all my job interviews..let that sink in for a moment. Only lasted half an hour, she barely asked us for our stuff like mails or pictures to show evidence(please take yours, we had them but she really liked and trusted our answers), and at the end while she walked us out she said "you guys are my last case of the day and you were a pleasure"..we felt really good about that.
My question to anyone that has had their interview done is how long after did you receive an update on the I-485?
I hope this post helps anyone getting ready for their interview in a positive way..be real with yourselves, go in feeling positive, and you'll crush it like we did..good luck.

A June filer
Married to USC, filed i485, i765, i130 concurrently.

06/11/2018: Sent applications.

06/18/2018: Application was returned due to a payment processing issue.

06/21/2018: USCIS received the applications.

07/06/2018: Received the Biometrics appointment notice.

07/24/2018: Took Biometrics.

07/26/2018: Biometrics was reviewed.

09/05/2018: Raised a 75-day service request.
(At the time, I didn't know 75-day service request had been eliminated by USCIS. I called the service center and the CR placed a ticket for me. This ticket was never assigned to an officer based on the case history on the tracking website.)

09/27/2018: Raised an expedite service request due to financial loss.

10/04/2018: Called the service center to follow up the expedite request.
(The Tier-1 CR told me it was strange that my request wasn't approved nor denied. She then turned me to a Tier-2 officer. He told me the service centers were still processing cases filed in April, and he advised me to wait till the end of October)

10/04/2018: Requested help from the Senator office online.

10/09/2018: Called to the Senator office to follow up.

10/10/2018: Signed the information release authorization form and provided a supporting letter from my previous employer. The Senator office requested to expedite on my behalf.

10/11/2018: USCIS responded that the case was under review.

10/12/2018: "We ordered your new card."

10/16/2018: "We mailed your new card your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, directly to the address you gave us."

10/17/2018: "The Post Office picked up mail containing your new card.

10/18/2018: "Card Was Delivered to Me by The Post Office"

Hope the information helps. Good luck to everyone!

Procedure to expedite the processing of EAD
Dear all,

Can you please let me know the procedures to expedite the processing of EAD through congressmen

- On what basis should I request him to intervene?

- What documents should I forward to him?

- Does he require offer letter or any other doc?

- Any other thing in your mind related to the same, please share as it will be helpful

Thanks in advance

EAD card being produced
Hi,
So my EAD card is being produced as of now. How long after production before you receive another update that it's being mailed out? Also after receiving EAD, do I need to apply for a SS number or it automatically comes in the mail? Thank you for your response.
