Expedited & waiting
Hi all,
We sent an expedite request to USCIS 6-27 and the status updated to “Request completed” on the 28th. We are going to wait till tomorrow to see if we should send in the appropriate documents (letter from his job). My husbands unpaid leave expires 7-25 and he will be terminated from his job if we don’t receive the documents before that date. My question is does anyone know how long it will take to receive the documents after the expedited request & will both I- 765 & I- 131 come together?

Praying for everyone on this forum.

Change of location
Hi my long time friends. After my EAD we are planning to move from our present state to another one. Is that a good idea? The interview has not yet been scheduled or ready to be. Please what are your take on this. I know it could delay my gc interview or maybe not but my question is. IS IT A RIGHT THING TO DO?

C9 EAD
Greetings,

Just like many, I've been following this thread to get insights and motivation. I found a lot of nice and helpful people here thus I am hoping that someone will help me get some clarity and direction on my current situation.

I am married to a US citizen and filed i485, i130, i765.
I just finished my biometrics last June 26th and a couple of days after got a i485 RFE letter for my birth certificate. My questions are:

1. Will the RFE cause delay on my EAD applicantion? (I am hoping soon enough)
2. On an average, how soon does an EAD gets released after biometrics? Does it normally take more time for asians?
3. Is my application for i485 or i765 going to go back at the bottom of the queue because of the RFE?

Thanks in advance for all your help! :)

Finally after 150 days
Guys,
I just saw my status change to we are producing your card and will mail it to you. On the myaccount.uscis website. The other one still says received.
PD: 1/31
Biometrics: someday in Feb
Request to expedite through job offer: 5/22
Submitted evidence via fax: 6/1
lost job offer: 6/8
Got second job offer so decided to contact my local senator Kristen Gillibrand. I submitted both job offers and a letter from my second employer saying why it would cause them financial losses if I couldn't start working. If anyone needs a sample letter for this, email me at [email protected] and I can send you the one I sent. I also had to send a letter explaining my bills and situation.
6/21: Senator's office requested my case to be reviewed by USCIS
6:28: called USCIS, talked to tier2 and was told my FBI name check came back favorable as of 6/27- I believe this is the step that is causing all the applications to be delayed. If you do a google search, this check seems to be so long and tedious.
6/29 morning: Senator's office said my case was routed for expedited processing
6/29 night: We are producing your card. My job offer expires Monday

For all you who are still waiting and feeling hopeless I want to share some of the things I did to stay sane while waiting for this permit and unable to work.

1. Volunteered at my local church at the food pantry. This gave me a great sense of purpose and a routine. You don't have to be religious and I really recommend doing this. You meet wonderful people.
2. Exercise. Running outside, going for walks and to the gym
3. Read books and listened to podcasts on my field of study
4. Used an app called headspace to meditate
5. Prayed and counted my blessings daily
6. Netlfix
7. Found free things to do in the city and convinced friends to go with me
8. tried not to let this ruin my life and my summer. Always thought about the big picture

I know this is an exhausting process and I wish all of you who are waiting that you get your documents soon. Remember, this will pass and once you get your work permit/AP and even green cards, your life will change forever in this country, for good.

Lastly, if you have a reason to expedite, do not hesitate. Contact your local senator and give as many details as possible on your case. I am no expert but if anyone needs any help/information on this process, email me at the above address and I can give you my thoughts on your case. I've learned so much from everyone that posts in this forum.

Thank you to all of those who took the time to respond to my comments and cheer me up when I was feeling lost. Good luck to all of you.

What are my chances and what is Congresman’s office allowed to do?

My company’s lawyers submitted request for expedited EAD due to severe personal financial loss.
As I am a sole income provider to family of five (three kids, US Citizens) what do you think my chances are?
Apart from this, I’ve read on this forum Congressman’s office could help so I reached out to it, and I was told I should provide them with a privacy release note and they would do an inquiry. I was not asked any other documents. Am I waisting my time with this office? I was under impression they should be able to either submit additional expedited request or stand up for me in the current one.
Should I try to reach out to some other office instead as this one either has no intention to help (which is perfectly fine) or is incompetent in this matter.

Thanks!!!

Need help - EAD expedite processing
Hello everyone,
I have submitted EAD expedite service request and I would like to know your experience.
Submitted request based on financial lost on 06/06/2018
Got the update on my case on 06/08/2018 (We have sent you a response in the mail)
Contacted Congressman's office on 06/08/2018 (Asked to help with my case and they said yes)
Got response letter in the mail on 06/15/2018 (Fax the letter from the employer)
Congressman's office assistant emailed documents on 06/19/2018
Received email response from Congressman's office," This case will be routed for expedited processing. Due to the extremely high volume of expedite requests for this case type, there are numerous cases involving exigent or humanitarian issues already in the expedited queue, and we are unable to provide a specific timeframe for the expedited review....."

My case is with NBC. There is no update on my case status on my USCIS user account. I am very stressed out, my husband can't work because of his serious health condition and bills are keep coming. I really don't know how this process works and how many days it will take to get my EAD card. Please share your experience. Thank you.
