How many of you guys have gone through ombudsman and was it successful?

My case is pending 92 days and I will not only suffer financial loss but also it will be detrimental to my career if I lose my job at this point.

Ombudsman - Travel Document Emergency
I filed my case the first week of January, marriage with US citizen.
I applied at the same time for I-485, I-765 and I-131 and receipt notices arrived a few days after in the mail. I had my biometrics taken on February 2. I was told by my attorney that my Travel Document was going to be in the mail in the next 90 days and today is day 109. I know now, from reading other people's experience it usually takes longer than what I was told but I only started doing research when I panicked. I am a member of a global non-profit organization and I planned a trip to attend to an International conference that is coming up in May. I purchased all my flights (departing 5/8) based on the time I knew.

The status for my case online has not been updated since January (in both websites) so I scheduled an info pass appointment and the soonest date I could find was May 1. My flight is in a little more than a week, so I decided to go to the USCIS office before my appointment and they requested me to write a letter with the details of my trip and the impact if I don't get my travel document on time. I also submitted my flights and a letter from my organization explaining what the organization is about and why my attendance is important.

The officer asked for my contact information but I haven't heard back from them and I have been checking my email, phone and status online every couple hours. No updates at all.

I submitted an online request with an Ombudsman today describing my case. I would incur financial loss without that document given that I have all the flights and expenses purchased and I do not want to risk abandoning my application. I haven't been able to sleep well these last few days. I would like to know about experiences with ombudsman.

If a miracle happens and I get this done on time to travel, could I leave in case I am already approved but haven't received the card physically in the mail. My husband is going to travel a week and a half after me so he could take it for me to present when I return. But I don't know if me leaving when its approved but not in the mail would still be considered abandoning my application.

Please share if you have any experience with something similar. I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

To all October filers stay strong
I’m happy to say finally got the news today that my wife’s EAD card is on the way. My AP 10/23/17 (185) C9 marriage based at NBC.

I know a lot of you are still waiting, stay strong and you’ll see the end of he road soon. I wish you all the best of luck.

The only thing I noticed is the l-131, still hasn’t changed. Is she not going to be able to travel? I thought it was a combo card ?

mail in
Hey guys,I called a tier 2 officer on 14th April, and he told me my case was not even assigned to an officer yet.
But today I received a mail from them says on April 18th your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action shortly.
What does this mean,it means my case is under review now? or it is just useless information.
And also anyone have any idea how long this shortly means? Thanks
my pd is 21/11/2017 married to USC c9 category.

How are you guys passing your time while waiting for EAD?
I am currently in my 8th month of EAD wait time. In these past months I am honestly STAGNANT, doing absolutely nothing with my life. I was wondering what the rest of you guys do to keep yourself busy while waiting?

My Experience
Hello all, to those of you waiting I can't even begin to understand the frustration and anxiety that comes with this waiting game. Just know that if it has been too long keep pushing with whatever you can to contact any additional help. (Congressman, ombudsman). Don't sit idle, especially if the file date is way past 90 days. With all the DACA renewals all normal cases, mostly October and November filers got backlogged like crazy. Seems that from December onwards it's taking 120+ days to get the EAD in hand.

Here is my timeline;

AOS C09 married to USC

Case was received: 12/21/2017
Biometrics Appointment: 1/22/2018
First SR (74 days): 03/07/2018
Contacted Ombudsman: 03/22/2018
Second SR (90 days): 03/23/2018
Card is being produced: 04/19/2018
Case was approved: 04/21/2018
Approval notice in mail: 04/23/2018
Card was mailed: 04/24/2018
EAD in hand: 04/26/2018

I called every chance I got to USCIS. Even if I knew the info from the online case status I always wanted reassurance that it was correct. Called them for tracking number since I don't believe they post it online anymore.

I'm very blessed to receive my card. I hope the many of you that have waited or are going to start waiting to keep faith in God and try to stay positive. In this limbo waiting game God is the best strength we have.
