EAD Expedite Experience
Hey everyone,

I wanted to share my EAD expedite experience so far and see if anybody has been in a similar situation. My timeline so far

- 10/31 PD (Day 1)
- 11/9 received job offer for start date 4/12 (Day 10)
- 11/20 walk in biometrics (Day 21)
- 11/21 request expedite based on financial loss and pending job offer by first calling USCIS and then speaking to my local congresswoman who submitted my supporting documents on my behalf (Day 22)
- 11/25 (Saturday) USCIS online case staus still shows “case received” but case history updated to “your expedite request has been assigned to an officer, and a response has been sent. case has been completed” (Day 26)
- 11/27 called USCIS to get some information on the “response” because I haven’t received anything. The consumer rep on the phone (tier 2) told me that my case shows that they had made a call to me and the case was now closed. I told them that I never received a phone call. The lady on the phone told me that I have to wait 5 days before requesting a follow up. So I called the congresswoman and explained what USCIS had told me, she said she would look into it. She said that she had received an update front USCIS that same morning stating that my expedite request will be under review in the next few days. (Day 28)
- 11/28 congresswoman sent me an email saying that her contact at USCIS said that my case will be routed for expedite and I will receive a decision shortly. (Day 29)

This was two days ago and I haven’t heard anything from USCIS nor has my case status updated or change. I’m pretty nervous now because I am supposed to start working next week and need my EAD approved by latest 12/7, so I’m wondering if anyone has had similar experiences and has an idea of how long it may take for USCIS to actually process my application after having approved it for expedite?

Thanks so much! And keeping my fingers crossed for everyone else here as well.

Wrong Date of birth on EAD
When i got my first I-797 C notice for I-765 on 14th September ,2017, I noticed the date of birth was wrong mistaken by me while filled up the form at the time of filing. Then next day I called USCIS number, talked with a representative. She confirmed me by pulling up my information from her PC that she is going to fix this over the phone. She even said it is only date format issue. Instead of 10-04-1990, it should be 04-10-1990. I thought I’d get the right date format on my EAD card .

Finally, I got my EAD today . I noticed that USCIS didn't fix that. My question is that ….

1. Can I work with that EAD which has wrong Date of birth ?

N:B: Wrong date of birth is in I-765 only .. The date format on others from like I-485 was correct according to I-797 C Notice .

Thanks in advance

I-765 based on I-485
I-765 received June 14 2017.

Initial RFE received some time in July.

Response to RFE received by USCIS in July 14 2017.

Placed 2 service requests.

Had senator office make an inquiry on my behalf (no response yet)

Called a tier2 officer couple of days ago who said that USCIS is conducting a background check on me.

Received an email yesterday stating "Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this letter."

Do I really have to wait for another 60 days, anyone with a similar experience?

Fast EAD Renewal! Worried now...
I applied for my second L1A visa extension under premium processing along with my wife's i539 (Dependent extension) and i765 (EAD renewal). The applications were received in Vermont SC on 20th Nov as per their notice.

Now the interesting part is, while my L1 extension is still in "Case was received and a receipt notice was emailed" status, my wife's EAD renewal is having a status of "Card was mailed to me" ! The overall process for EAD renewal took just 7 business days to be in this status, considering the TG holidays in between!

The problem now is I am worried how they would have renewed the EAD without knowing the fate of my L1 extension. What duration they will give it for now ? Any experiences like this here ?

L2 EAD
Its > 90 days since my application was submitted.

August 11th --> Submitted application
August 18th --> got confirmation that my application was received.
October 24th --> Called USCIS and enquired them about my case. They took all details and gave me a request ID. They asked me if i went for biometrics or not. I said I was not asked to go and I didn't receive any such email or letter. They said they will find out and update me.
Nov 18th --> I called them again to enquire. They said I had to wait for 1 month after I called for first time. So i was asked to call after thanksgiving.

I see some messages that it is taking more than 4 months for L2 EAD approval.

Anyone here who can share L2 EAD approval timelines please?

This forum is quite helpful to know what is happening for others too.

Thanks and Good luck for everyone

expedite request approved-further 60 days wait time
its >125 days since my application was submitted with VSC.

I raised service request after 75th day and after 20 days got a mail, that they need additional evidence. However, it was just a error.

Anyways, I had to go by rules and submit response by mail.

11/10- RFE response delivered
11/14- request for expedite review raised (based on USCIS error)
11/17- expedite review approved. Received an email stating "kindly allow 60 days for a response"

its >10 days and no update.!

I am puzzled! If I anyways have to wait 60 days, what is the expedite request for?

Any experiences with expedite requests?

I see the long wait time for others :( ..Good luck everyone!

EAD Waiting
Hello!

First of all, thank you for this forum because it keeps me optimistic. You guys ROCK!
Here is my experience:

06/10: Got married
06/30: I-485, I-765, I-131 received by USCIS
07/15: Moved to different state (No issue with address change)
07/31: Biometric Appointment
(nothing for 140 day)
11/16: Contacted congressman (Still waiting to hear back)
November 30th will be 5 months since I heard anything from USCIS.

I do not know what is going on at USCIS, and maybe it is good I have not heard anything or maybe it is bad. At this point, I do not know!

If you have any comment, suggestion, or encouraging word to share then feel free to do it!

Of course I will keep updating the post if something happens!

Thanks!
