L2 EAD I-765
Sharing my journey and experience as this forum has been a tremendous help to me, so thought of sharing to others.

June 6-Send documents to USCIS
June 9-Received confirmation
June 16-Status changed in website saying Case was Received and the wait started.

After a month
Aug 16-The receipt notice was returned by Post office stating they could not deliver and this may have impact on the timelines.

For some strange reasons this was returned back. I called and raised a ticket requesting them to send the notice one more time for which i got the receipt by Aug 22.

Aug 22-Receipt notice was send again and delivered.

Waited for the 75th day to raise a SR.
SR was closed on 97th day stating that the applications will be reviewed in the order we received.

I also did an InfoPass appointment on the 97th day for which I was also told the same response. Your case will be reviewed

Waited patiently as what I have seen and read from different forums, reaching out to Congressman, Ombudsman and raising multiple SRs do not have any outcome on your case. The case gets processed in the same order or unless you are lucky. This is my personal experience. Secondly it is always recommended to raise SR online rather calling the National Service Center toll free. Whatever information you know about the status, the agents also know the same, unless you ask for Tier 2 or you get officer on the line which is next to impossible.

On 105th day, Sep 19th online status changed to Card Being Produced and the very next day
Sep 20th- My case was Approved.

Now waiting for the approval notice and the Card. Hopefully by this week or next week I may get as I have not got the tracking number nor any update stating the card has been mailed.

I know for many the wait is frustrating but sometimes you cannot do and wait for the process to get completed.

Hopefully will share timelines soon on how long it takes from the status Approval to the Card Delivery. Others can also share some insight if they had recently received the card.

Timeline
This group is of great help so i'm posting my timeline...

I'm under EB2. Did Market Test in early January and completed in early March. Filed PERM on 3/10 (Priority Date) and approved in late June. My employer's lawyer did concurrent filing of i-140 (regular processing) and i-485 AP and EAD at Nebraska Service Center and received notices on 7/27. Did my biometrics on 9/15 and received my combo card in the mail on 9/23.

As of today (9/24), my i-140 status says "Case was Received" while my i-485 says "Fingerprint Fee was Received".

Is it normal to do biometrics and get the combo card pending the approval of i-140? Will i get my GC soon?

My Timeline Experience
Hi, I used this forum a lot during my long and stressful wait. My timeline was pretty unorthodox, so I decided I would share it just in case someone experiences the same.

I'm international student on an F-1 visa and applied for OPT.
1) 07/11/2016 -- USCIS received my application: E-mail and text message update received. My application was transferred to the Potomac Service Center.

2) I got a job offer soon after I applied for OPT, but the job offer would expire after a month. I managed to get the company to wait for me, but they started asking me frequently about my status. Then I decided to try a congressman.

3) 09/05/2016 I send an expedition request to my congressman in Davis, CA.

4) 09/08/2016 The office of the congressman replies via email stating they need a letter from my job that if my application is not expedited I risk losing the offer.

5) 09/09/2016 I get a letter from the company and forward it to the congressman. I, however, never got a reply from their office. I think they did get it expedited, though.

6) 09/15/2016 I get an e-mail from the international student advisor at my university asking about my status. I tell her my case still says "Case was received" and no updates yet. She replies and says my SEVIS record states I was approved for OPT on 09/13/2016.

09/16/2016 I send USCIS an inquiry about my missing approval status.

09/21/2016 USCIS send a reply stating the following : "An approval notice is not generated by the Potomac Service Center for this application as receipt of the Employment Authorization Document serves as the approval notice."

**trust me, I wasn't sure what to think at this time. I hadn't gotten any email updates about my approval or updates online. No e-mails about a card being in production or a card being sent.**

09/22/2015 I get my card in the mail. My status is still "Case was received" online.

Don't worry if you are not getting any status updates. Chances are your card is just around the corner!!

H4 EAD Delay-Processing Times.
Hello There,

Did you guys have similar experience like this.

I am waiting for my spouse H4-EAD Approval.
We have applied on June 3rd, 2016, USCIS Vermont Service Center received on June 6, 2016.
Since then we are waiting for the Approval and EAD Card.

What i did was...

1) I have waited till 75 days, and after 75 days i raised a service request to check the status of my application.
This was on Aug 29, 2016.. And I got a response from USCIS on Sep 9, 2016.

This was the response i got from physical mail-(postal)
Your Application for Employment Authorization (Form I-765) is still pending consideration.

"Processing times for specific applications and petitions at the Vermont Service Center (VSC)
are provided on the www.uscis.gov website and are updated weekly.
Based on fluctuations and variables that impact the processing times and for the
purpose of interim or final adjudicative processing,
the VSC allows 30 days beyond the posted date before the case is considered
"Outside of Normal Processing Time" (ONPT).

An additional 30 days must be allowed for adjudicative review and processing
before we can request expeditious processing based on a ONPT request.
If the application or petition is still pending after 30 days, and once we receive
your formal request for expeditious processing, your case will be
forwarded to the applicable adjudicative unit for expeditious handling."

2) After 90 days, i have raised another service request on Sep 12, 2016.
This time i got the response from USCIS in email, stating this info in the email.

The status of this service request is:

A review of our electronic systems indicates that your petition is
currently with an Immigration Service Officer.
You should receive a decision notice or
notice of other action within 60 days from the date of this letter.

3) And After 106 days, on Sep 20, 2016, I have sent an email to Vermont Service Center.
to this email: [email protected]
stating my genuine reason that " I have job offer waiting, and i am in financial loss and i am unable to work due to not receiving EAD approval and Card. Please expedite the process "

And i got the email from: NCSCFollowup, VSC <[email protected]>
their response is:

EAD based on Pending Asylym >150 days waiting
Hi everyone!

I have been waiting for my I-765 based on pending asylum approval (initial application) since April 4-th, 2016. My case has been transferred several times (California – Virginia – Texas – Nebraska – Virginia). I am contacting the USCIS to get the updates, including level 2 officers. Yes, even they are surprised to hear it is waiting for so long, but all the notices I get from them by mail are either transfer notices, or “Wait another 30-60 days”.

Last time I was trying to expedite my request due to financial difficulties, Level 2 officer helped me to do that, but after couple of days I received a denial letter saying that my case is already being reviewed by an officer and I should expect the reply till mid-September. However, today still myUSCIS is showing “We will assign an officer…”.

I already faxed a request to local congressman, filed a form to USCIS ombudsman and currently having an Infopass appointment soon. Whatever helps first.

Good luck to all!
