EB3
Hi everyone, I am asking your help regarding my worries. I have a pending I485 application, it so happen that my H1B visa will expired less than 1 month from now. I am still waiting for my EAD. My lawyer said I will still need to stay in the US even if my H1B is expired because i have pending application but I am not authorized to work. Any one with the same experience because honestly I am still keeping my faith that I will received my EAD asap but sometimes feeling worried also.
Thank you.

EB1C INDIA MAY 2017 WAITING FOR 140
My 140, 485 was filed on May 30 2017 concurrently under EB1C INDIA. Received EAD and AP right away but still no news on 140. Two times SR raised and got generic response. Anybody in the same boat? Should I be worried for not getting 140 approved yet? What is the probability of 140 rejection?

Aug 6th interview took place:

Very simple Yes and no question from I485 file. The IO was very kind and professional, he did not ask anything about my job position just went through the question and check for supplement J s all was good. He only asked me for the work letter which I gave him along with my W2, other than that that was all he asked.
At the end of the interview he said he was going to approve the case.
Next day I checked the status online and it reads: “My new card is being produced”.

So be patience, at the end of the day you all will get it and this feeling will be gone! So happy now that this is over.

EB3 Interview Los Angeles
On July 27th my i-485 status changed from "Case is being transferred" to "Interview is ready to be scheduled".

Interview has yet to be scheduled till this day. Any idea how long it usually takes for interviews to be scheduled once the status switches to "Interview ready to be scheduled"?

Also is EB3 in retrogression as well or is it just EB1?

My Case Timeline (EB1C)
Sharing my case timeline in case it might help others in similar situation.

June 21, 2017 - Concurrent filing of I-485, I-140, I-131 and I I-765
July 07, 2017 - Appointment Notice for biometrics
July 27, 2017 - Biometrics taken
October 13, 2017 Combo card received (Advance Parole + Employment Authorization)
June 06, 2018 - I-140 Approval Notice
June 15, 2018 - Notice that my case was being transferred to National Benefits Center
July 19, 2018 - I-485 status changed to "Interview was scheduled"
July 26, 2018 - Interview notice received. Interview to take place on Houston office on August 23, 2018

Already know that EB1C visas are in retrogression so they can only be issued after new fiscal year starts on October 1st 2018.

I already re-did my medical exams since the previous one submitted in June 2017 already expired. Now I am waiting for the interview and trying to gather all necessary documentation.

Has anyone here had interview in the Houston office lately? Wondering how it goes and how friendly the officers are.

Thanks!

I-485 Approval after 1 year
Our GC saga is finally over! Good luck to everyone. Sharing our experience for guidance to others.

EB2 / PH

July 17, 2017 - Concurrent filing of I-485, I-140, I-131 & I-765
Aug 9, 2017 - Biometrics (all 4 of us in the family received different schedules but we all went at once—and they accommodated us)
Dec 21, 2017 - Received combo card in the mail
April 27, 2018 - After almost 10 months, I-140 got approved
May 14, 2018 - “Case transferred to NBC” (with letter in the mail)
May 16, 2018 - “We transferred your case to another office for processing”
June 5, 2018 - Received Courtesy Letter for daughter stating that I-693 does not indicate if all vaccines were completed (we just went back to our Doctor and he issued another sealed I693 for her and brought this to the interview)
June 13, 2018 - Interview was scheduled
July 26, 2018 - Actual interview schedule (RFEs for new medicals since ours was expired already and updated Employment Verification Letter)
Aug 2, 2018 - Submitted all RFE docs/medicals at USCIS local office (we underwent new TB and Gonorrhea tests for the new I-693)
Aug 6, 2018 - Received I-485 approval in the mail

Interview Experience - Our schedule was at 7:45am. We came in at 7:30am. We were called around 8:15am. We took oath and fingerprint (just me and my husband, our kids are below 14). IO asked for IDs. I gave our EADs. She then proceeded with Yes/No questions. She asked for new medicals and updated EVL. She said that our application has no problems and just need to get updated docs for technicalities. I brought a bag of docs but she didn’t ask for anything. She was very apologetic since I told her how come we were not given requests for new medicals, we should have brought the new ones in the interview. She also acknowledged that our application is already 1 year in process. She said that it is better to just drop the docs in the office rather than mail. True enough, when we completed the new medicals, I dropped in their office in the morning, we got approval in the website in the afternoon. Overall, interview took just about 15-20 mins.

Good luck to everyone. Patience and prayers worked for us, to keep our sanity in this whole journey.
