H1B, H4 Visa

I attended H1b visa stamping couple of days back and I have got 221g white slip. Initially I thought that was given due to a wrong answer that I provided but not that reason. Actually in my ds160 my work started from my employer is stated as August 2015. And my graduation is done by December 2015 which is 4 months of CPT internship. And later I got 3 years of OPT thats means 36 months of work authorization. But after December 2018 my OPT was completed so I joined a CPT college and worked 40hrs CPT until today that means 8 months on CPT in 2019. So all combined it is 48 months that means 4 years of experience I worked with my employer in USA. So consulate officer asked me how many years have you been with your employer as mention in ds160 I said 4 years. And he asked me as you said you are done your masters by December 2015 how come you work for your employer from August 2015. Then I said it was my internship with him. He said ooh ok ok, and then he started counting months but he is getting just 40 months count instead of 48 months because he didn’t able to ask me on what status you are in 2019 after your OPT and how did you work. And I didn’t even said him I was working on CPT from jan 2019 to present because again it might be an excessive issue. So then he counted those months for couple of times and asked me have you worked on h1 then I said no sir on OPT. So later he gave 221g because he was not able to understand the complete 4 years count. So will it be a problem in the administrative check and is there any person who has the same issue and how long does it took.

I had my H1B visa interview on September 11, 2019. My VO said that your visa is APPROVED and you will get passport in one week. I DID NOT get any slip or 221g.

It has been 11 business days so far and I still have not received my passport. I have tried calling and emailing them but still no update. Sometimes I was told to wait for 7-10 days; other time 7-14 days. Email reply suggested that my application is in process.

Passport statuses so far:
9/12 to 09/25: Passport is still with the consulate.
9/26: There is no status update available for the passport number submitted

CEAC Visa status:
09/11: case updated to Administrative Processing
09/19: case updated to Application Received
09/24: same status but date change to 09/24 'Application Received'

Has anyone had a similar experience? Is there a way to escalate the processing?

I attended Hyd consular interview on September 20, i got h1 approved this year with COS denied.

Questions asked.
1.Who is your employer
2.Do you have end client
3.How long you were working for end client
4.Working in USA or India
5.Whats your Major
6.Have you ever been out of
Status on f1
7.expiry date of you petition
8.have you faced secondary check during your visit to us (it happened to me once and told what happened)
And she said I need to do Administrative processing and you will hear back from us in 3-5 days and kept the passport and gave white slip
With no check boxes and no case number .

Sept19- case created
Sept20- admin processing (interview date)
Sept24- case got updated but still says admin processing..

Any one faced this, is keeping passport and status update a good sign...

My wife will be filing for her EAD. She is required to fill her parents' name in the form I-765. I have a query regarding this.
There is a difference in the spelling of her parents' name in her birth certificate and passport.
Mother's name:
Name in Birth Certificate: Shanta Chakrabarty
Name in Passport: Santa Chakraborty
I would like to know what would be more appropriate- to use the spelling as mentioned in the birth certificate or the passport.
I would appreciate any suggestions.
PS: We already have an affidavit which says that the names are one and the same and it is just a variation in spelling.

Does anybody is experiencing issue hetting live agent through EMMA? I've been trying for the lasr couple of hours without any success...how do I speak to a representative ober the phone..can't do that either!

Metro station is very near to the consulate, so used metro service and reached the location by @9.30 and immediately the security guard allowed me in. Taken a small umbrella with me as it was cloudy, but had to keep in locker for Rs.50 as security didn't allow it in.

1. Security check
2. Waited in the waiting area for few minutes along with 20-30 other people
3. Joined a queye and got the finger prints verified
4. Waited again in the waiting area for few more minutes
5. Joined a queue where I was given a card with window number mentioned on it

The staff member took my passport and passed it to the VO even before my turn came.

Interview:
- Good morning (scanning my passport)
- Tell me about your job duties
- Work location
- Client location or Employer location?
- Do you work for <Client company> or <Employer company>?
- Salary?
- Is it extension or a new one?
- How long were you in US before?
- (After typing for a few seconds) I am approving your visa, have a good day :)

Overall it was a pleasant experience, didn't see any rejections. No documentation asked at all.

I have a H-1B visa interview setup for November in New Delhi. I was working on OPT, OPT Stem and then CPT for the same employer, full time (no client).

I am just wondering if there is something I can do proactively to clear my SEVIS record or something to prevent myself from getting any 221g -Administrative processing delays.
Can someone please help ?

Hello everyone!

I had my visa interview done yesterday in Hyderabad. Interviewer asked me basic questions like below. At the end of the interview, she took my passport and said, you don’t have anything to do, but there is some administrative processing/verification that I have to do and we will let you know in 2 days. Interviewer didn’t even give me any slip. And I checked status online this morning and it shows as Administrative processing. Should I contact my attorney and let them know what’s going on? Or should I wait until tomorrow and wait to hear something? Also should I worried? How long would this process take? This is first time visa stamping. F1 to H1.

1. Who’s your client?
2. Where do you work at? And did you ever work for that company here in India?
3. Highest education?
4. Whether that highest education is from US? Or India?
5. Do you have your recent paystub?
6. Did you have any problems receiving your pay?
7. Do you know about your worker rights?
8. How long are you working for this company?

Interviewer didn’t even ask my 1-797A letter.
Anyone had same experience?

Did anyone recently attend consulate interview for F1-H1B transfer? I have taken CPT for more than 12 months and have Consulate interview next week. Just wanted to check if someone was in same boat and attended interview at consulate to share their experience.

Based on my understanding CEAC website for checking visa status is down from Saturday, September 21. I keep entering the CAPTCHA code but it does not work.

Has anyone faced the same issue? Is there any alternate method of checking visa status?
