H1B Approved at Chennai on 2nd March
Many thanks to immihelp users who posted their experience. It was really helped me to prepare for this interview. Am sharing my experience below.
DAY 1:
Finger Print was scheduled on 1st of March at 3.15 PM. I reported there by around 2 PM and it was medium crowded. They asked us to wait in queue for around half an hour. So better try to report half an hour prior to your reporting time. Since the process is very less it will take very less time to process. After verifying my passport and DS160 form, they acknowledge in my PAI confirmation letter and took a photograph and asked us to leave.
DAY 2:
I was bit nervous about the questions they will ask for me during the interview process and i was really helpful with this site and the below one. I dont think they are asking question apart from these listed questions.
http://usvisatalk.com/extremely-helpful-h1b-visa-interview-questions-and-answers/

My appointment was scheduled at 10AM on today (2nd March). I reported by 9 AM. Entire process was over by 10 o clock. We need to cross 2 counter before we enter into interview panel. Below are the questions asked to me.
VO: Please pass your passport.
ME: Yes sure. I passed passport and I greeted with Good Morning.

VO: WHo is employer
ME: Answered petitioner name.

VO: How long u have been working with petitioner?
Me: Answered . (Say X year and Y Months)

VO: What is your highest qualification
Me: Answered. (Engg. in stream of Comp Science)

VO: What is your name of client
Me: Answered.

VO: Where you will be staying in US
Me: Answered (Mention the name of state and not CITY. If you know your city then tell both)

VO: What is your salary?
Me: Answered. ( Mention like YYYY X$ Per Annum).

VO: Your Visa is approved.
Me: I just thank her and left.

General Instructions:
1. Dont carry bags unless it is needed. They will not allow even for Finger print. Though we have counter in ground floor, we need to pay Rs.50 for that. Better take someone with you and leave your properties with them.

2. PLEASE CARRY ONLY THE DOCUMENTS PROVIDED IN CHECKLIST. THEY NOT EVEN ALLOW WRIST WATCH and OTHER ELECTRICAL ITEMS.

3. Be confident and answer appropriately. Do Practice in home in front of mirror for at least 3 times and always keep smiling face.

4. Its not mandate to carry company ID cards, if you have. I saw few people wearing that but i dont think it would really matters.

5. Last but not least, pray to god before you enter consulate. Everything is normal and i dont see any rejection on H1B. But it is our responsibility to make our-self ready for interview. So go through the questions at any cost.

Many thanks for all the users and your Prayers.

Dropbox experience 2017- Mumbai
Hi all,
First of all thanks to everybody posting their experience here. They have been really helpful. This is my 2nd time stamping for H1b and this time I was eligible for Dropbox. This is with same employer Here is the list of documents I took.
All passports with valid or expired US visa
Dropbox invitation letter
Copy of i797
Ds 160 confirmation page
Do take original i797 just in case
Recent passport photo with US specification ( do make sure it's recent)
Bank receipt wasn't needed but do carry it for safety
We went to the VAC at BKC and all I did was to tell the guard that I'm here for Dropbox and he let me in. Don't carry mobile phone but the guys were very friendly.
Jan 27th - submitted documents. They only took my passports, copy of i797, ds 160 confirmation page, passport photo ,and Dropbox letter. She did return me back my Dropbox letter with a stamp stating that they have received my documents.
Jan 31st- visa status changed to administrative processing
Feb 3rd - visa issued
Feb 5th- passport picked up ( do take a government issued ID and your Dropbox stamped page with you when going to collect passport)
I was quite worried because during this time EO was signed but all went well. I'm flying back next week and will keep you all posted if I face any issues at POE.
All the best to those who are going through this process.

H1B & H4 Approved at Mumbai on 28th Feb
First of all thanks to everyone who has posted their VISA experience on this site. It has helped a lot in VISA interview. I have attended VISA interview on 28th Feb with my wife. Our slot was at 10 AM but there was huge crowd and we waited almost 1 hour to get in US consulate office.

Background:
Approved petition in HCAP 2016 in Oct 2016 through one of IT firm but filled Location amendment in premium due to change in project, location and amendment petition is approved on 1st Feb 2017.

Below are list of questions asked after greetings:
To me(H1B main applicant):
VO: Please pass your passport and I797
Me: Sure and passed my & my wife passports along with latest amendment I797.

VO: Who is employer?
Me: Answered petitioner name

VO:What will you do in your project?
Me: Explained my responsibilities mentioned in my petition.

VO: what is your client name and where you will work in US?
Me: Answered Name of client and Address of client

VO: Where you will stay in US?
Me: nswered address filled in DS60 form(In my case, working address and staying address are in different city).

VO: What is salary?
Me: YYYY doller per anum (Answered as per petition document).

VO was smilling and telling about staying city and she is telling about Indian Restaurant at same.

Suddenly she started asking questions to my wife:
VO: When did you meet your husband first time?
Wife: Answered with days before marriage.

VO: When did you get married?
Wife: Answered marriage date

VO: Was it arrange or love marriage?
Wife: Arrange(In our case, it is arrange)

VO: Do you have any kids?
Wife: No.

VO: Why do you choose to marry with him only? (This question is asked most of couples).
Wife: Given one line statement only.

Suggestions who are planning to attend interview:
1. DO not bring mobile, sacks as there is no place to keep unless someone is there who can wait outside embassy.
2. Try to reach just before 45 minutes as there will be rush.
3. Be confident while answering questions and you may ask to repeat questions if you didn't hear it properly.
4. Have patience as it is really painful to stand in queue and waiting for your turn to come.

Best Luck!!!!!!

H1b stamping and Port of Entry experience
Hello everyone,

I've been following the immihelp h1b visa experience thread since one month as I was planning my trip to India. So I

would like to share my experience as well. I went to India begining of this month (Feb), I needed to do H1B extension

stamping this time with a new employer. I found out that I was eligible for the Dropbox option and during that time there

were many rumours saying Dropbox option has been cancelled which was false. So after reaching India, the next day I went

to Mumbai Visa Consulate to submit my docs in the Dropbox option. They asked for the required docs and within 3 days my

passport was ready for pick up with a new Visa stamp.
While returning to US at the port of entry I found that things were going on as usual, the question asked to me by the

CBP officer were :

Q) Do you still work for the same company(on noticing my new Visa Stamp) ?

Ans. Yes

Q) What are the food items you are carrying with you?

Ans. I listed the food items which I carried with me.

After that he took my fingerprints and stamped my passport. So I would like to say, just act normal;, confident and don't

panic due to those ongoing rumours.

All the best!
