Delhi consulate 10 feb h1 b.
Hello, here are my 2 cents.
Visa interviews are 4-5 min now rather than 1-2 mins earlier.
Definitely more questioning, but nothing to worry if you are a genuine case.
Most h1 b s i saw were approved,b1/b2 were getting rejected a lot.
For h1b standard questions about your employer and your work are asked.
Please be confident, there is nothing to be scared, really.
After stbdard questions you should here the golden words your visa is approved.

Traveling to India in May/June
Hi,
We plan to travel to India in May/June 2017 and need stamping H-1/H-4. I've been with same employer for all my stay in US and my wife needs H-4 visa stamping. We both have never been rejected any visa till now. Is it okay to travel and book for stamping?

H1B in pending status
Hello guys.

Here is my experience.
PA date: 10th Feb at Mumbai consulate.

VO: good morning.
Me and wife: good morning.

VO: your highest qualification?
Me and wife replied.

Then he was busy for 15 mins and ask me do you have Xxx document copy ?

I said NO.

He said you need to mail that to us and handed white slip with 221g instructions.

The Document what he was asking is already submitted by my employer. So it's something fishy unfortunately it comes under finance category so my employer has not given me copy.

So it is rejected you can say, was not confident as have faced L1 rejection too.

All other people have got the visa I can say.
So don't worry be prepared and best of luck.

I have my H1b till 09/2018.

In the mean while,my husband has applied H4 extension and got H4 extension petition til 11/2018.
Also all the I 94 number is same in the all the petition

So my question is here,Now On which visa status I will be?

because I am planning to travel India for the status change from H1 to H4.

So please advise on this, if any body face the same issue

Whether to fix passport or not!!!!!
Hi,
i need some suggestions.

i am not H1 travelling to India soon and will go for drop box stamping while in india. Also, i am going to apply for me parents B2 visa.
the troubling part in my mind is...my passport has my mom's name as ZZZJEET and my mom's passport has it as ZZZJIT..
ZZZJIT is her correct name .

Should i fix my passport to correct her name or it doesnt matter alot?

if i have to fix it, i am planning to do it here in US before going to India since my passport expires next year (good time to renew)

H1 and H4 experience @ Chennai
Hello,

Posting our visa stamping experience:

Feb 6 - Biometrics

Feb 7 - Interview at the Chennai US Consulate

VO: Good Morning (very pleasant and cheerful)
Us: Good Morning

We handed our docs to him and he scanned the bar code on the passport and typed something on his computer.

VO: Oh you work for ZZZ. That is impressive! (smiles)
Husband: Yes, I have been with YYYY for the past six years and I work as a Manager

VO: That's nice. What is your annual salary?
Husband: answered

VO: What are your responsibilities at ZZZ?
Husband: answered

VO: Who is your end client?
Husband: answered

VO: Interesting! What do they do and what is the location?
Husband: answered

VO looked at me asked how long we've been married. We answered and it was our wedding anniversary the next day, so he wished us and asked us to enjoy the day as he said he is approving our visa.

Although I have my EAD and I am working, I wasn't asked any questions regarding that.

The whole interview took about 5 mins and he was very pleasant and cheerful. Even when we were standing in the line, we were able to listen to other interviews that were happening. Some were definitely asking a lot of questions, but they don't grill you. They don't have a strong US accent as well. We didn't really see a lot of rejections or 221Gs either except one or two. Like everyone says over here, have all the necessary documents and prepare really well. Mock interviews really help. We checked out few questions from this forum for that.

Feb 7 was our interview. We checked the status on 7th evening and it said "passport is with the consulate"

Feb 8 (evening) Status - Ready for pick up

Feb 10 Status - We went and collected our passports and took just five mins.

Although we were pretty nervous the whole of last week, the entire stamping experience was extremely smooth and we are thankful we can enjoy the rest of our vacation and go back to the US.

Good Luck to all of you!! :)
