Interview at hyd@2/2

Here is the status of mine
I attended interview on 2-Feb and VO said visa approved and took copy of my I797. I was eagely checking the status everyday from that day. Here is the sequence.

2-Feb Admin process (interview date)
9-Feb Admin process
10-Feb Admin process
13-Feb Issued.

Looks like my petition was not updated in PIMS, that might have caused delay.... now i realized why VO asked for photocopy of my I797. my extension was approved on 11-Jan.

hope this help who is waiting for their status after interview.

Salary question
Hi all,

I am appearing for stamping in India in mid march , I read that everyone suggests to answer basic questions as per petition. for example salary .

Now my salary increased as part of annual performance review , after the petition was created and H1B extension approved, so the petition has old salary. (per hour)

If I am asked what is your salary ? should i answer the latest salary , or should say as per petition ?

H1 interview @Chennai
VAC appointment - 12th Feb.
Documents asked : only passport + ds160 conf + appointment conf.

Interview appointment - 13th Feb. 10:30am slot

Ppl, no need to go 1-2 hrs early, as the officials were checking the time and
allowing only half an hr prior. So it should be fine if you reach consulate office atleast half an hr early.

Documents asked : only passport ( no l979)

Greeted the interviewer as soon as I step into the counter.
I was feeling nervous while standing in the queue. As the interviewer approved one of the H1 Infront of me, got some confidence. He was asking only 4-5 questions. For other blankets B&L, interview questions were strong and digging into each details. Dont worry about that, H1 interview is like cake walk. Only pay attention to interviewer and ans to the point. Below are the questions asked for me:

1. Who is your petitioner?
     Petitioner is xxx.

2. How long you have been working for them?
Approximately yyy years and mmm month.

3. Who is your end client?
     ZZZ.

Deliberately he spelled it wrong and checked whether I can spell properly. I spelt it properly and he was very happy hearing the client name. Some times your client name itself can get you through.

4. What you do for them?
    Briefed about project and duties.

Then the golden words : "Your VISA is approved , please have the know your rights booklet. Have a nice day ".

Need suggestion on Travel to India and get new H1B visa stamping done in New Delhi
Hi Members,

Need your opinion & suggestion based on recent experiences (personal or family/friends) whether i should plan to travel & get Visa stamping done at US consulate, New Delhi.

My details are as below:-
1. Last entry in US was on H4 in 2015.
2. Applied for fresh H1B in lottery 2016
3. Applied as Change of status case H4 to H1 in April 2016
4. Got approval in January 2017
5. Working on in-house project & end client is some state deptt

I have some important family situation to attend in India & thinking about travel.

I have all the documents but i am still concerned if there is any risk of getting into issues with stamping due to some additional documents as they may demand at the time of interview so that stamping may get delayed or 221g issued or any further issue with visa approval.

This would be my first H1B stamping.

Shall i cancel any idea of travel now based on my case / situation ?

Please suggest guys.

Delhi consulate 10 feb h1 b.
Hello, here are my 2 cents.
Visa interviews are 4-5 min now rather than 1-2 mins earlier.
Definitely more questioning, but nothing to worry if you are a genuine case.
Most h1 b s i saw were approved,b1/b2 were getting rejected a lot.
For h1b standard questions about your employer and your work are asked.
Please be confident, there is nothing to be scared, really.
After stbdard questions you should here the golden words your visa is approved.
