H1-B STAMPING @ MUMBAI on 20th March
Reached Mumbai consulate @ 7.15 AM for my 7.45 AM interview, saw a huge line outside

Entered consulate by 7.50 AM

Security & Finger printing took another 20 minutes

Gentleman ahead of me, visa was rejected.
My interview started around 9.00 AM. It lasted only for 2-3 minutes.

VO: What is your company name
VO: Your company profile
VO: What is role and responsibility
VO: Working for how many years
VO: Your Annual Salary
VO: Are You Married
VO: Where is your spouse
VO: Your visa is granted

While waiting for my turn for at least 30 minutes. I could see many denials . Pattern was , if your work experience is high and the salary is good visa is granted even if you are working at client location.

Visa interview for H1B
Hi Guys,

First of all thanks to this forum which helped a lot to prepare for this interview.

I had my interview on 21st March at Mumbai consulate. I was extremely nervous for this (as I had already attended my B1 interview before).
So the first question was asked was
1. Who is your employer and I was so nervous that I told my client name to him.
The interviewer started laughing and replied please mention your company name where you are working.
and then the rest of the interview was as smooth as butter.
2. Who is your client
3.what is your designation
4. How much salary will be getting in US
5. Who is your manager in US
6. Highest qualification
7. How many people work for this account at onsite
and finally he said Thank you sir your visa is approved and have a great day :)

First of all iam very thankful to this site and the persons who gave their experiences. It really helped me in the interview.

VO:What is total exp?
Me:4 and half years
VO:Highest degree of qualification?
(I was not able to understand the Q,hence asked him one more time)
Me:B.Tech electronics and Comm. engg fro mJNTU
VO:Who is your Client?
Me;Said myCleint name(i said only clinet name, not explained any thing about client)
VO:what they will do?
Me:Said about client business in 2 sentences(be precise while explaning thesse type of Q's.no need to say alot about clinet.Just explain their main business)
VO:How many people r there at client side from your company?
Me:14
VO:it is 14 or 40
Me:Confidently said 14
VO:Did you read the while pamphlet?
me:(As i read lot of people saying if VO asks this Q,visa is done..i was happy inside :))
said this will give rules and regualtions for Non Immigrant workers of US and it will contain important contact no's in case of any issues.

VO lookes at his computer screen for 30 sec and said "Sir Your vis is approved.u will get it with in 5 days"
VO didnot asked me about project, roles etc.

If yours is a BEP case,it will be smoother compared to others.

Be confident, wear a smile on your face.
Dress properly.Wear Tie also.It iwll give good
impression(It worked in my case)

if you dont understand any Q,ask VO politely once again.
if they ask any Question repeatedly say the same answer in a confident manner.
Don't change the answer if the same Q asked 2nd time.

All the best!!!!
