H1b approved
I had my interview this morning.one of the main reasons I am writing this review is to make sure that all those fulltime employees who are worried about h1b don't panic.

If you work for a reputed company (not Infosys etc) and you have strong paperwork it's a piece of cake,

My interview went like this

VO : good morning
Me: good morning

VO : what's your qualification
Me: Btech in comp scie and masters in finance

Vo: impressive. What do you do for xxxx ( big oil company)
Me: I work as a financial analyst

Vo: what are your responsibilities
Me: told....l

Vo: please read the white slip . It explains your rights in US .
Me: thanks

Vo: so you are from Houston . Looks like your football team did well this year.

Me: yes!

Then he said that my visa was approved and. Will receive my passport in 4-5 working days .

Don't panic and as long as your full time employee you are good. All the very best to L1 and H1b too.. Confidence is the key !

H1b Interview experience.
I attended my Interiview Today sucessfully and received my passport with VISA stamped on Mar 24th.

Mine was a New employment with a Direct employer in the U.S. with Product development activity without any client.

After completing initial Formalities, reached the Officer for Interview. I have visited U.S. earlier on B1 visa for two weeks.

Officer : Can I have your passport?
Me : Passed on the Passport + Basic Documents verified during screening.

Officer : Are you going to U.S?
Me : Answered with details regarding employer and job offer.

Officer: What is your pay?
Me : Answered. (My pay in the Job Offer letter was higher than that mentioned in LCA, I129). So I answered the No mentioned in Job Offer. He cross checked with LCA, I129 and asked me about the discrepancy. I passed on my Job Offer letter to him and he was convinced.

Officer : Scanned thro my passport and found my B1 VISA and asked have you worked in the U.S. before?
Me : Answered.

Then the golded words came, you VISA is approved and he gave me the White pamphlet and asked my to read it. He also said, enjoy your stay in the U.S.

After that I thanked him with happiness and completed my Interview.

Good luck to all of you who are attending Interviews.

H1B Approved at Delhi Embassay on 20 th March 2012
Hi All,
First of all, thanks to this website a lot, which helped me to prepare for my interview. Ok, I went to Delhi US embassay on 20/3/2012 for H1B approval. I was a little scared because 6 months back my L1B was rejected. Ok, here is series of questions asked :
Goon Morning
>>Good morning

1) What will u do in US?
>> told.
2) Who is the client ?
>> no client, going to my parent company in US.
3) Are you going to third party client?
>> No
4) Who is your reporting manager in US?
>> XYZ
5)Have you ever been to US before?
>> Yes
6)I can see in ths system , your L1 was rejected previously, why was it rejected and why did you applied again?
>>I was told in my L1 interview that your visa is not clearly approvable as they are not sure of my skillset and I was advised to apply for different category of Visa.
7) Can you explain in detail what is the exact nature of work in US?
>> told in detail(try to use a little of complex technical terms.)
8)Which location u r going in US?
>> tell the same location mentioned in petition.

ok, your visa is approved, you will get your passport in five working days. The key areas I felt during the interview were deciding factor are :
1) telling that I am not going to any client but US office of my company, in case you are from some consulting company like TCS, infy and your petition mentions a client, be prepared to answer why your petition was filed by your employer and not by client.
2)telling that I have been to US before, i could see a sigh of releif on interviewer's face
3) Be confident and keep eye contact.

Best of luck to all candidates going for H1/L1 stamping.

Hi... Thanks a lot to immi help who has been helping me in decades first in clearing off my B1 and now its H1b. The day finally arrived where i have to get my visa stamping done. My interview was scheduled at 10.30 a.m, but i was at consulate at 8.30 a.m. I was asked to stand and was let in at 9.10. After standing in the line for 10 mins , we have to pass out a counter where a token will be issued after checking in your appointment time. Then we will be allowed in where they do a security check. PLS DO NOT CARRY YOUR MOBILE PHONE, KEYS or any ELCTRONIC items.
Then you would be let in to another room where you to sit and look in the LCD board which throws in the token numbers and respective counter they have to assemble in. Once you see ur token number ur papers would be verified and u have place ur thumb immpression and then you would be asked to go to the next building where the visa interview would go in.
