Successful H1B & H4 after Six F1 visa rejections record
Dear All,

Please accept my sincere apologies for this late reply. I wish to thank Immihelp for their immense work in bringing out this platform where we can share our valuable experiences with fresh aspirants and provide useful tips & information for their smooth transition. I have a regular visitor of this site for the last six months.

We had a successful visa H1B & H4 stamping at Mumbai consulate on 6th March, 2007.
Initially I was worried because I had a very bad track record with US visas. I applied for Student visa in 2001, but was denied. I tried six times consecutively for a visa but was denied each time. Later I moved on to UK to complete my post graduation and worked there for 1 year. I am working for an MNC in India for the last one year.

The other issues which worried me before attending interview were:
1. I didn’t have a proper document to support my project.
2. Wage 2 forms submitted were messy.
3. I filled in a wrong surname in my spouse DS-forms.

With these issues in mind I was really very tensed till the day came. But on the day of my interview I was so fresh and open- minded and started questioning myself before the interview ‘Is this the end of life if I don’t get a visa, Absolutely NOT”.Adding to this my previous visa experiences were an absolute tonic to boost up self-confidence. Moreover my spouse was next to me and we were cracking jokes about how I look like ‘if I was denied a visa’. So I started taking things very easy.

One important point I wish to share with you friends, Getting Visa is just an opportunity and not the end of life…If you get a visa…Cheers!!! If not…no worries...we might get a better opportunity. Take my example for instance. If I had my F1-visa successful in 2001, I would have missed my beautiful wife. She was my junior who became more close to me after this mishap. Fortunately things worked and we are happily married now. For every action there is a cause, as per my opinion.

Our interview went like this:

Me : Good morning mam
VO : Good Morning

Me : How are you today?
Vo : Im fine, how abt u?

Me: Not too bad.
VO: For what reason you are here?

Me : I have applied for H1 and here for visa approval.
Vo : fine, what will work on

Me : Expertised in Sap-ABAP, SAP-CRM ver 5.0, 5.1. Ver 5.1 is not yet released into the market. Since I worked at LABs in development, I have a very good exposure in these Related areas.

VO : OK, I see you had a visa rejection previously.
Me : yes mam, I applied for a student visa, but unfortunately it was denied and later I went to UK to complete my studies.

VO to my Wife.

VO: How long you know him mam.
Spouse: for the last seven years.

VO: did you visit UK then
Spouse: NO

VO: Since how long you have been married?
Spouse : just Last week.

Vo: oh great, can I see your hands with Mehandi?
Spouse: stretched her hands for VO’s convenience.

Vo: Can I see your marriage pics please.
Me: passed them to the vo.

VO: after looking carfully, asked how many people attended the marriage?
Me : 1500- 2000.

Vo: It was a big ceremony.

AGAIN…

Vo: Your visas are approved and you receive your passports in two days.

I just couldn’t believe that our interview would be so short and so cool and hardly lasted for 3 minutes.

WE collected our passports on the same day itself from the VFS office and flew back to VIZAG.

Friends! If there is something called luck, then this is it. I was not asked for a single document except for the wedding fotos. So, be cool and calm. If there is a visa in the basket for you, you will get it. After all it’s not in our hands. So don’t feel bad if you don’t get one. Better luck next time.

One more kind and humble request to you friends posting their valuable experiences. I see lot of a people expressing their successful visa as ‘FINALLY THE GOLDEN WORDS CAME’. To my opinion this shows that we are desperate to leave our home country and enter US by hook or cook. Even I used to have a similar opinion when I was trying my student visa, but the later experinces taught me a lot of life and reality. It is sad that we are leaving our home country and it should be just for the sake of earning which should be brought back to our country and serve her. Finally I wish every possible good luck to the fresh aspirants and congratulations to those who already had a successful stamping.

I will be in India till end of april. So for any suggestions mail me, I will help you to the maximum extent.

221(g)
Hi All,

I attended my H1B Visa interview on JAN 11th 2007 and got 221(g) Blue dart paper at Chennai embassy asking for tax returns, employee list, pay stubs , client letter.

And in this regard, I have submitted all the docs with my passport and 221(g) paper on March 5th 2007 in VFS office at chennai.

Could someone please let me know how to find the status of my 221(g) Visa application and also whether my documents are all submitted to visa consulate at Chennai.

When I tried to check the passport delivery status today at
https://www.vfsusa.co.in/ApplnForms/TrackYourPassport.aspx

I got the below response,

“Your passport has not been handed over to VFS. Kindly contact our regional call centres for further queries.”

Could you please let me know how to find the status of my 221(g) process.

Please advice me.

Successful H1 for self and H4 for family at Chennai
I had interview at 12.45 PM on 1st March 2007 at US Chennai consulate. Since i went with family there was no waiting. By the time we reached VO place it was 1 PM so there was shift change and Young American did interview for us

VO: Give me all the docuements
ME: Gave the file.

VO: Which designation u r going to work as ?
ME: Did n't understand the accent and speaker effect. Took some time to understand what she asked. Told Prog Analyst

VO: What is u r educational Qualification ?
ME: MTECH ( Non computers back ground)from IIT

VO was looking into folder and typing something on computer. Since she has come fresh and i am the first one to get interviewed i took some intitative and told

ME: I have 10 years of exp and out of which 6.4 years in IT. I work for ZZZ( BIG US MNC )since 3.5 years. I am going through XYZ company etc. I will be leading a team

VO:Oh!! U work for that company ? good and you will be leading a team there?
ME: Smile and thanks

Typing something

VO:Which project you will be working ?
ME: Inhouse and bla bla ..

She was not at all interested in what i was telling.. Just looking at her computer. But i continued in telling about project

VO:And u will be leading team ?
ME :Yes mdm

VO: I have no issue in issuing VISA to you since you qualify for that, but incase if your company does not adhere to what has been commited to you, please preserve this and contact these numbers.
Handed over visiting card.
ME:Thanks mdm

No questions asked further and no documents checked. We came out of consulate by 1.15 PM with full of joy & satisfaction.
