Applied for Passport Renewal for my parents from USA and both got approved. Waiting to receive back from CKGS in ATL.
Time Line
July16th - Mailed to CKGS through FED-EX
July17th - Received and Contents to be verified
July20th - Under process at Consulate and Police Inquiry Initiated for only one application (probably a glitch in the system)
July 21st -Passport has reached CKGS Sorting Facility for delivery for both.
Note if it helps - for proof of address for my parents who live with me in ATL, I included my license notarized and my birth affidavit notarized

Renew Passport - Address Change
I am trying to renew my passport but address on my passport is no longer valid as my parents shifted to another place. Also, I don’t have any address proof of new place on my name. What are the options do I have?
Can I go head with the same address as in my existing passport? Will it trigger police verification?
OR can I give the USA address?

Indian Passport Renewal In SFO
Hi,
If anyone can help , My Passport renewal is pending from 8th July due to Incomplete documentation. Problem is my father name miss match happened.
In my old passport , father name has been prefix with Shri but in new NRI application i missed Shri and so ckgs need my father passport to verify name of my father.
But problem is my father do not have any passport. I tried to contact ckgs using Phone number , email , feedback from , twitter to find out what alternative document could i send but all useless , no answers from them till now.
I did not know ckgs and passport renewal in US will be pain in the ASS.
if anyone has this type of problem , please help

Jun 17, 2020 - Application ‘Received’ by CKGS and 'Not Verified'.
Jun 23, 2020 - Application Verification is ‘Complete’. Processing of your application will continue.
Jun 24, 2020 - Application is ‘Under Process’ at CKGS.
Jun 24, 2020 - Application is 'In Transit' to the Consulate.
Jun 25, 2020 - Application is 'Under Process' at Consulate for decision making.
Jul 13, 2020 - Application 'Reviewed' by Consulate and ‘In Transit’ to CKGS Application Centre.
Jul 13, 2020 - Passport ‘Received’ at the CKGS application centre and is at the ‘Sorting Facility’ where it is being processed for delivery.
Jul 13, 2020 - Passport picked up by FedEx.
PROBLEMS FACED:
1) Notary: At the time of application prep I was out of state so had to get documents notarized in a different state. Did not face any problems during application
2) Police Verification: Probably a mistake from their end. They mailed the passport immediately. Although Police in India still came by at my current home and verified the documents anyway after the passport was mailed
3) No Communication: Email replies was quite late. For my notary query, I got the reply after 2 weeks. Calls are generally unanswered
I chose the Fedex Option through CKGS. Process was quite smooth and quick with a few problems as mentioned above. Good Luck!

Indian Passport Renewal DC
I have send my application for passport renewal and CKGS received it on July 6th and the application was put on Hold due to missing documents. They wanted me to send the photographs again.
"All the Photographs provided need to be the same. Please provide PHOTO PROVIDED IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. APPLICANT IS TOO FAR FROM THE AMERA copies of the same photograph.You can get the complete photo specifications from https://passport.in.ckgs.us/sampleDocs/passport-photo-specifications.pdfShip the required number of photographs as per your document checklist to the Passport Application Center."
Apparently I have not received any email notification regarding this and I am not sure whether I am supposed to send the photographs just to the CKGS DC address or do I need to pay somewhere in CKGS site to get a shipping label.

CKGS Account Inaccessible
Hello All, i know this may be down to Site Maintenance but i'm not able to access CKGS my account from Friday. It says please enter a valid ID when i enter my details .
I actually verified my details a couple of times and they are correct. My application when i last checked showed Verification complete on Friday, but no update after that. anyone in the same boat ?

Address check when renewal from US address to US Address
This is my Third passport renewal application . My Previous(second passport) had a US address and the current one too has a new US address. Application was checked by CKGS and sent to SFO Consulate general on 07/14 and I have not heard back from them since.
1. If the old and new addresses are both from the US , I am assuming this should not trigger an address verification in India ?
2. How many days does the consulate take to process the passport ? It has been 4 working days.

CKGS-SF Online payment for shipping address
Hi all,
I need to renew my Indian passport. I have opted for CKGS shipping service [ from You to CKGS]. After I submit it displays a message "Online Payment mode is currently unavailable. Kindly proceed by selecting your preferred offline mode of payment". So I'm worried to which ckgs-sf address , I need to submit all my documents.
Is anyone faced similar situation?

Unable to login to CKGS website
I am unable to login to CKGS after providing Web Reference Number, DOB & Passport (till yesterday it was not mandatory, now it is shown as mandatory). Any one else able to login to their account?
Till yesterday evening i was able to login and my status was with embassy. Can someone check and confirm please?
