visa fees - demand draft
Hi, i am confused regarding the demand draft for the blanket fraud prevention fees of Rs 29000. Should the DD be in favour of 'U.S. Consulate General, Chennai" OR "American Consulate General, Chennai" ... is it an important difference between U.S. Consulate general and american consulate general?

My experience of L1B interview in Chennai
To start with: I found 80% of the candidates were getting approved. So don't need to panic.
I was asked question not on my specialized skill but on my company and my company's product offerings. So be prepared accordingly.
More experienced you're higher the chances of getting the Visa approved.

Good Luck,
JD

VO:- She smiled... and said Have you ever been to US before...
Me:- No. This is the first time I applied for the US Visa.
VO:- Again the same question...You have never been to US before.. Not for studies, not for work related things..

VO:- Smiled and said..then the person appearing on my screen is not you...
Me:- Oh.. Than it is great.
VO:- How Long you are working with YYYY company..
Me:- It's been close to 7 years.
VO:- What is Indian Salary..

VO:- What you are going to do in US..
Me:- Explained the YYYY things which i will be performing in US...

VO:- Finally those words came out for which I was waiting.... Your Visa has been approved Sir.... You will get your passport in next 5 days. Have a happy Stay in US....

L1 Blanket interview experience @ Chennai
Hi I am a technical consultant working in one of the worlds largest organization.I have applied for L1-B. After completing all paper workers my interview was scheduled on 24-Aug-2012. Amidst of lot of work i went to chennai on 23-aug-2012. Company has provided me accommodation in their guest house in Mylapur. The consulate is hardly 20 mins in autorikshaw. My interview was scheduled @11.30.
Since I was not aware of the consulate location I started 8:55 AM from guest house.I reached around 9:20 AM in the main gate. I have seen a small queue there.
So I decided to wait bit far from the main entrance gate. I waited till 10:30 AM. After that I slowly moved to the main entrance. I have taken the token from the main gate counter and entered in to the consulate.
Make sure you will carry only files which are not closed. Please avoide bags, umbrellas, digital watches etc. After the file and body checkup I entered into the consulate first building.
There they filtered all the documents and select only the documents you need to carry to the interview. I waited for my token number to come. Finally it displayed and I moved slowly to the counter. In the photographs I was using thick frame. So they were not ready to accept that. They told me to go to counter no xx and take a photograph without specs.
I went there and paid some 100 bugs and taken the photo.again I came back to previous counter and waited for my token. They sorted all the documents and selected only few documents need to carry for the interview.
After that I went to another counter and given my figure prints. Finally I moved to the ultimate destination. Time was around 11:55 AM at that time. I have given my DD to one counter and slowly moved to the interview counter. They told me to wait there. I was checking the indicator. Finally my token appeared and the time was around 12:03 PM. They allocated me to a lady officer.
First of all I wished the officer. She asked me following things
O: which company you are Woking for?
Xxxxxxx
O: How long u are with xxxxxxx?
I am working for last x years and my overall experience is x
O: Why you are going to US?
Explained about the project
O: What is your specialised knowledge?
Xxxxxxxxx and yyyyyyyyy
O: If you have any supporting documents please show?
I have shown.
Finally the golden words came

"I am going to approve your visa. You will get your passport with in 3 working days".

I told thanks and left consulate with smile.

Bye bye Chennai
