L-1B and L2 Approved
Hi all,

Thanks for the different experiences posted. I would like to share mine.
Our interview was held today. L-1B for my husband and L2 for me and my son. We were ushered in by 9 and by the time we had been through with the document scanning and biometrics, it was 9:40 am and we were scheduled at 9:45. Our number was displayed at counter 20. We stood in the queue and there were 2 people before us. we heard that the visa for both of them had been approved.

Then came our turn, and our heart beat pounded. We walked towards the counter and the VO said Good morning and we greeetd her back.

SHe askeed the following questions
To My Husband -
1. What is your project?
2. Who is your client?
3. How long have you been with your company?
4. How long with the client?
5. What is your current designation?
6. What is the duration of the project?
7. What is your qualification?

To Me
1.How long have you been married?
2.WHat is your qualification?
3. What is your sons age?

Then the words flowed out from her mouth which we were longing to hear.

Your Visas are Approved. Have a safe journey to US

Regards
Suhadra

Most of questions were same as discussed in this site .

Most important thing while explaning your specialization maintain eye contact with officer and be confidence as they do not have any information about your specialization ,whatever is written in your petetion you should be confidence on that . This site is very useful for preprations as most of questions are covered in this .

thanks

L1B rejected on 11th Jan, 2012 at chennai
I had my interview at chennai us consulate on 11th Jan, 2012. The question were same we seen here:
1. Client name
2. How long with this client
3. Education degree
4. Specialization
5. Indian salary
I had expained my specailized knowledge very well. It was unique in my poject but vo wasn't in the intention to listen it. What i observerd people came with there family were getting approval. That means one who highly experinced and since longer time with same client. Rejection ratio is still high. The people only who have got approval are putting there experince here. Be aware before applying for this category.

Hi All,
To begin with I would like to thank immihelp for the guidance provided it was extremely helpful.
There is abundance of information on this site that is useful, few tips from my side -
1) Carry money, it often happens that your photo is not accepted (even if it was accepted in DS160). US consulate have a photographer who clicks and gives photos within 10 minutes for 100 bucks. Very thoughtful of the consulate people. Good job.
2) Money is also useful if you are going with kids as they have a trolley where you could buy waffer, cold drink, juice etc.
3) Keep your answers short 2-3 sentences. This was one great tip that helped a lot.
4) Answer only to the question that was asked do not give unnecessary info
5) If you want to add something ask for permission. "Could I throw some more light on Xyz...."
6) You should be very clear what your specialization is. This is the most important as L1B means specialization.
7) Make sure you have all the documents in the right order. Make an index if required. If the VO ask for a doc and you keep searching this would make you nervous.

Thats it from my side. Best of luck.

Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences in this forum. It was of great help.

Questions:
1. Which city are you going to work in?
2. How many years are you going to work in the US?
3. What is your specialized knowledge?
4. How many years of experience do you have in this specialized area?
5. Why can this work not be done from India?

The VO was very nice to both me and my wife. My wife was asked below questions
1. When did you get married?
2. Can I see the marriage certificate?

Then the VO said your visa is approved and you'll receive the passports in a week's time.

I think the key points are -- maintaining the composure and eye contact, being confident about the experience and specialized knowledge. It also helps if you have any proven record in the specialized skill area (such as an advanced degree or patent etc).
