L1 & L2 VISA Experience at Hyderabad Embassy
Hi I am Naveen. I went for L1 VISA stamping on 11th May 2011 along with my wife and she is for L2. I want to post my complete experience here. I submitted following documents 4working days before scheduled interview date.
L1 Documents:
1. PHOTO
2. HDFC Applicant Copy and Embassy Copy Originals
3. I-797B 3sets
4. I-129
5. Passport BIO Pages copy

My VISA stamping is scheduled at 10.15AM on 11th May 2011. I reached embassy bu 9AM and been asked to get into queue which is outside of the embassy gate. After me one couple came with small kid. They have been pushed forward to entrance of the gate directly. Around 9.40AM I also entered into main building after security check. At entrance security informed to put cell phones in lockers of VFS. VFS building is in the opposite lane of embassy around 10meters away. After security check we need to enter into a queue where documents will be given which were submitted 4days before. They have PIMS OK stamp on it. Inside embassy we have a provision to take VISA format photos if required. After getting the document I entered into finger prints queue which took another 40 to 60mins. Then went for VISA waiting hall where got the token for VISA stamping. Got 135 & 136 tokens but at that spot token 60was running. Around 1hour later our token was called. Here are the questions.
VO: How are you?
Me: Good how about you.
VO: What do you do?
Me: Explained about my role and responsibilities.
VO: What your company do?
Me: Explained about company
VO: Where your product is used? in Aeroplane or Car? As mine is automotive electronics work area.
Me: CAR
VO. When did you got married?
ME: Told marriage date.
VO: your VISA is approved you will receive your passport in week's time.
No questions to my wife.
We collected our passport at VFS on 13th May 2011.

My L1B and L2 got approved today at hyd consulate. My appt time was at 9.30a.m and i reached the consulate by 8.15a.m but after all the formalities we reached the VO counter at 11a.m.
VO: Surprisingly He greeted me 1st- Gud morning sir.How r u?
Me: Fine...Thank you. How are you sir?
VO: CAn i have your red file.
Me: Sure. Then i handed over.
VO: How long with your company?
Me: 3years sir
VO: Total exp?
Me: 6Years sir
VO: Client name?
Me: ZZZ
VO: Your Specialization?
Me: I told my skill set.
VO: Why you for this position?
Me: I told him my exp with the client and the objs that i have devloped and again i'll be devloping similar kind of objects. He got convienced.
VO: Highest Education?
Me: B.E
To My Wife
VO: Mrg date?
Wife: DD-MM-YYYY
VO: Love or Arranged?
Wife: Arranged
VO: Who arranged it?
Wife: Our parents.
VO: Your qulification?
Wife: BSC
Then he told the golden words. Visa Approved and you'll receive your passport in a week.

It was a nice exp.The VO was very young and polite. We need to speak confidently and clearly.

They have asked specialized skills, I said YYYY . In that I am not able to convinece him (VO). before that they have asked My experince and Salary in india.Work at onsite,Everthing is answered except that YYYY .

Hi,
I had my interview L1B(Blanket) & my wife's L2 interview y'day at Chennai. Interview was scheduled for 9:30 AM. Reached by 9 AM only to know that even shoulder bags are not allowed inside.
Entered the Consulate at 9:10. After the security, document verification, finger prints, we moved to Visa Interview building within the consulate.
Then we were called to submit the L1B Visa Fees draft to the cashier. Then, we waited for our turn for the interview. After 30 min, our turn came.
My discussion with VO:
VO: Good Morning
Me & My wife: Good Morning.
VO: Your document folder please
Forwarded the folder through the window space available.
VO: So why are you going to US.
Me: I am working as **** at **** for their proprietary product **** .
**** * is ...... (Gave a small intro about my company)
I joined **** in (Gave details about when I joined, my education qualification, my total exp, experience in product and also why I am going to US)
I have been chosen for this assignment because (shared my expertise about the product)
I will return back to India once the assignment is over to join back my company.

L1 individual pink slip
I had my L1 blanket interview on jan 2010. It got rejected. That time i was asked the following questions.
1. What's your project?
2. How many are there in your team?
3. Why have you been selected to go to US?
4. What's your experience?
5. What's your degree?
Then the VO gave me a blue slip telling that they could not issue Visa at this time.
On May 2011 i reappeared for the interview under L1 Individual and the following were asked.
1. Who's your client?
2. What's you purpose of visit?
3. What software are you going to use?
Then the VO gave me a pink slip, after 20 days I received a mail that my Visa is processed

2. How many are there in your team?
3. Why have you been selected to go to US?
4. What's your experience?
5. What's your degree?
Then the VO gave me a blue slip telling that they could not issue Visa at this time.

L1/L2 interview scheduled at Delhi
Due to some glitch my wife's L2 interview is scheduled at 8 am and my L1 interview is scheduled at 11 am same day. Can we request the people at consulate to allow my wife to take interview with me. As stamping a L2 application after the primary applicants interview just makes sense.Can anyone please help me with this.

L1A Approved @ Delhi
I went for L1A - Blanket at Delhi. Things went smootely. The key is to be confident and was keep eye contact with the VO officer. The guy before me was rejected, so all the more anxiety!
1) Why do you want to travel to the USA?
2) Your client name & location?
3) How long with ZZZ?
4) How long have you been in US before?
5) How many resources report into you?
6) Are you involved in their hiring and firing?
7) Personal questions like : Married? Which visa husband is in?
8) Brief description about the project that I lead?
After my 2nd question, he had started entering details into his machine, so I know I was true.. Other questions seemed to be a formality till all the paper work was done. Will get my Visa stamped in 2 days.
