Panicked and lost ,....Aug 19 @ chennai
ok guys here comes mine about l1 blanket......interview time was at 10:45 and i reached there by 10:15..my sincere suggestion is to not reach there too early since the security may keep u waiting outside the consulate....

after all the security checks and papers put up in their standards.....paid the fee and got seated for the interview....no fat lady...only bald man but issuing visa after a good drilling..but i got some other guy ...just asked

VO:what you are going to do in US sir?
Me:I am going to implement YYYY for YYY through which YYY will predict zzz.
Vo:what is your specialisation sir?
Me:panicked since could not hear it clearly ans asked twice about the question just asked....
finally told I have already implemented YYYY for aaa and presently I am presently supporting ss technology for another client ddd and since this assignment needs both YYYY and ss, I am chosen for this role.

All of this I could not maintain eye contact with him which I feel is the biggest mistake I did..VO was actually writing something on my the papers and simultaneously cross checking me where I am looking....3 times I got caught not looking/maintaining eye contact with him tho he doesnot look at you...all we want is visa and not his looks..:)

GUYS...Maintain Complete eye contact with VO.

finally VO:sorry sir. you case is not clearly approvable under _______....

left the consulate...my tips for u :impress the Vo that you alone can do that job.....and no one in US is with this skill....that is what they want...MAINTAIN EYE CONTACT....all the best....

Thank you so much to the Immihelp team. It is really wonderful, to know all the information about different kinds of interview patterns. Ofcourse same things will not work for all but improves confidence level.

I was asked only 3 questions. Here are those

VO: How long have you been working for this compnay?
Ans: XX years.

VO: What are you going to do there?
Ans: Use some technical words while explaining. Answer should be very short.

VO: Who is your client?
Ans: YYYY company.

Next She did some paper work. There were no question to my spouse and directly said your visa is issued and you will receive in a weeks time.

L1 Blanket Approved at Chennai on 16th Aug
Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences (both positive and negative). It was the same process as explained by others previously.. I was waiting in the queue finally with a pounding heart to see so many rejections in front of me.. I was trying to keep my calm by watching the kids who were there for the interview.. There was one officer (the one who goes to the guy in the next window each time he has a question) who was rejecting all the cases. He was not cordial to anyone.. I was praying that I should get the other officer in the next window to interview me..

Well as luck had it, it was the not so cordial guy... I stepped forward and wished him.. He was tryig to call bck the guy who took his interview before me.. so I asked him if I should call him back and went behind that guy and called him.. He had a few questions for him.. I stepped back and once he left the place, I stepped forward again and said 'Good Morning once Again'.. finally a trace of smile in his face..

following were my exchanges with him

Him: So do you work for ZZZ
Answer: Yes I work for YYYY

Question: Who is your client
Answer: ABC

---Some typing

Question: How long have you worked for this client
Answer: 8 months

Question: How long have you worked for Health Insurance
Answer: for 4.2 yers since I had joined ZZZ

Question: What will you be doing in US
Answer: I will be building the Business Process Platform which is a business intelligence framework for ABC. This will collect data from various process applications in ABC and will provide data for Top Management who can use this to analyse their processes and can come up with methods to cut down the processing time for end customers

Question: Why do you need specialised knowledge for this project
Answer: You need specialised knowledge for this project because Health Insurance is not like anyother industry, it has lot of government regulations and requires experience working with other health insurance providers. Also using this experience we can implement best practices of various clients.

----Lot of typings and reading on the monitor in between.. and passed some of my documents..

after the final answer he took my I129 signed and sealed it .. gave it back to me and
well I didnt hear a word after that.. Thanked him and left..

Comments:
Something that I noticed today is people who were dressed well (not jus light colored dress, it really has to look like a professional, many did not look like that despite wearing a tie), not afraid and did not show an attitude that their whole life was dependant on this interview had an advantage. Also, too much techinical details can be avoided, many resorted to it.

SURNAME Column BLANK in my passport.
Hi Reader,

I would like to share my experiences that i went while geting changed the SURNAME Column in my passport.

I am an IT Professional working in an reputed MNC for past two years in good technology forte, My sincere dedication and effort in my work had paid me off and i got an onsite opportunity with my client in US. When my company verified the documents, they found that my SURNAME Column in the passport is blank, and they want it rectified as soon as possible. Any delay in the correction process would result in missing this onsite opportunity, so i hurried up to get this done. As suggested by my friends circle i approched many agents who were more interested in luring me rather than getting my work done, I was ready to pay any amount to them but just needed the correction done. after analysis i found that none were genuine agents, they would not be able to keep up their words in delivering the paspport as promised by them, So finally i made up my mind to approach the passport office by myself and submit the documents. To my surprise, the process was hassle free and ended up receving my correctd passport within 7 days as promised by passport office, NOTE: I had applied through Tatkal scheme, hence got it within such short span of time.

Below were the things from START to END that i did to do the correction in my PASSPORT.

1.) Book Online in the website and you will get an appointment date in the above listed URL http://passport.gov.in/thane.html
Nomally form the booking date it takes 1/2 days to get the appointment.

2.) You will get the FORM filled through as mentioned in the website and carry the necessary documents as listed in site.
NOte: Make sure you have (PersonalParticulars Form) seperate copies of the last two pages, i had taken it both sides of the single page, due to which i had to run and take the xerox individually, and finally found that within a span of 5 minutes being away i had to stand in the line again from start, due to which my token number got increased to another 100.

3.) The Thane Passport Office Opens at 9:30 AM. At the date of appointment i had reached there by 9:00 , to my surprise i found a long serpentine queue already standling there and joined in that line. First there is one perosn seated who verifies the docs and alocates a Token number to you.

4.) Then You will continue to reach another person who will preapre a file (Green/ Yellow) and have a copy of docs filed within that and hand over to you.
RED File - was for those who are reapplying/renewing/correcting passport
Yellow File - was for those issuing a fresh passport

5.)Then finally you will be waiting for a those final anxious momments when your Token anumber will be anounced, It took just 4 hours of waiting to get my token number called. :) There are 3-4 counters before which you need to stand and produce the supporting docs

6.) Its quite possible that you will have to take a reappointment if you do not have the neccessary supporting docs. And if you are a lucky guy you might submit successfully and i was one of those. The Papport officer was quite a bit stern in nature, i had my heart beats running faster than ever it was, i was much tensed, but everything was over when he said, you need to move to cash counter to pay the money. I felt so exhiliriated hat finally i had submitted.

7.) I had paid the money and got the recipt for it

8.) After my submittimg of docs @passport office , withing 8 days i got my passport delivered to my addres not to mention that i had to make my post men happy to deliver this valuable doc on time.

9.) Finally I got it changed in the passport, My Surname Column is not blank in my passport anymore.........

HOPE MY EXPERIENCES ARE USEFUL TO ALL THOSE WHO ARE ASPIRING TO GET AN US VISA.

ALL THE BEST!!! GOD BLESS!!

L2 Visa interview at Hyd consulate
Hi,

Attended my L2 Visa interview today. Was litle tensed as my husbands L1 had gone for administrative processing few days back. But he did receive his Visa in 3-4 weeks.
Questions asked to me:

VO: Where is ur husband?
VO:Where will he go in US?
VO: How long have u been married?
VO: how long will u be in US?
VO:Do u know the client name?

VO:what does this client do?
I told the details, mostly L2 spouses aren't asked this questions, but still be prepared with the answer

How long has ur husband been working for this client?
(this will include his offshore involvement in the proj)--I didnt know the answer then, but u be prepared. I said he has been working for the client for quite some months,i dnt know the exact period. And now he'll be travelling for onsite activities.I think ideally u r supposed to say more than a year.Pls check.

He did not ask for any marriage snaps or certificate, etc.
Told me that I'll receive my passport in a week's time.

Suggestion to applicants, read as many experiences and question as possible.. and be prepared with the precise answers.
Thankyou immihelp. It helped me a lot.
