If the U.S. Embassy or Consulate issued a 221(g) letter instructing you to submit additional documents for further processing, you can submit them to CGI at one of the following locations. They will deliver them to the embassy or consulate.
If you qualify for a visa interview waiver (also called drop box), you would submit the documents to one of the following locations as well.
They are open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
For US embassy and consulate please check their Holiday Calendar before planning your visit.
If you are eligible for a Dropbox and if you choose to go a near by VFS Dropbox center, please make sure you check their holiday calendar, because they observe several India Holidays.
For example on 4th of October 2022 Kochi VFS Dropbox location will be closed but U.S Consulate in Delhi will be open. Likewise please do check the local calendar before planning a visit to the VFS Dropbox center.
What if you end up going to a VFS Dropbox location on a local holiday but you have an appointment letter on that day?
You have an option to go a day in advance or the next day when there is local holiday at the VFS Dropbox location you chose. Please call the customer care and make sure if they accept it the pervious or the next day. In many cases we have seen they accept the next day of the holiday.
