Atlanta Experience
Hello there! I had my interview on Thursday Oct 8 in ATL - I will list the time line:

Field Office: Atlanta
Jan 31: Applied
Feb 13: Biometrics appointment was completed
April 13: Date of original interview cancelled due to COVID
Oct 8: Date of new interview (got notice Sept 24)
Oct 9: Got notice that my Oath Ceremony is scheduled and will take place Oct 22

When I got there for the interview it was pretty smooth. Went through security and then to the 2nd floor. I got checked in they took my photo and fingerprints and then told me to go to the third floor. I dont know why because there weren’t many people but I waited for almost an hour before they called me back. When i got to the room they showed me there was an ipad with the IO officer. And there was a printer in the room. He made me swear to tell the truth and then gave me my test. I will list the questions I can remember but they were really easy.

Who was our founding father?
What is the last day you can file taxes?
How many years is a presidents term?
What age must you be to vote ?

I cant remember the other two. But I finished quickly. Also a note that I moved here when I was 5 and I am 31 now so the test/written part wasnt as difficult for me as for others who came here much later. He showed me a paper he put up to his camera and had me read it back. Then he sent a document to the printer that was in the room and i wrote a sentance he said and showed it to him through the ipad. Then we went over my application and i had to reanswer all those questions about being a terrorist or nazi or involved in illegal activity lol. After that i signed the oath paper abd he printed out the page that said he approved my application and that was it. He was nice which I know is hit or miss depending on the IO officer.

That was yesterday the 8th and today the 9th i got a notice that my oath ceremony has bewn scheduled for two weeks on the 22nd. If it werent for covid i would be able to register and vote already grrrr but oh well. Ill answer any questions I can if anyone has any

Tax Return Question
Hi guys,
I have a question about filing the tax returns, I am a permanent resident since the last of November 2014. I filed all my tax returns for the last 5 years (2015 to 2019) but for 2014 (lived about 5 weeks in the US) I was unemployed and had no income, I did not file my tax return for zero income. Do you think that will be a problem in my case?
Thanks for help.

- I was out of the interview room at 9:30am

My case was approved online in a couple of hours

Chicago Field Office Interview Experience
Hello guys,

I attended my interview and I'm ready to share my experience. I hope it can be beneficial to you and help you in some way. :)

So, I was in front of the USCIS office half an hour early and needed to wait for 15 minutes before entering the building. I went trough security and to the 3rd floor. I checked in at the clerk's desk and showed my appointment letter. She did some search in the system, stamped my letter, gave me a number, and said for me to wait to be called by the immigration officer. After no more than 5 minutes the officer called my number and we went to her office. She was very nice and accommodating. I was stressed out and nervous and her positive attitude calmed me down. The interview was in person. We were both in the same office, wearing masks and there was a plexiglass barrier that separated us. The IO swore me in and told me to sit in the chair. She also requested my past and current passports, green card, and driver's license. She compared the information from my passports with their system. After that she told me to remove my mask briefly so she can take a photo, and had my index fingers biometrics. She started the interview with the English language portion of the test. I answered 6 question correctly, read a short sentence, and wrote another one on the tablet. Then she continued with questions from my application. I'm going to write you the things I remember. Also she asked the questions in a random order. Some of them were: Full legal name, do I want to change my name, how many times have I been married, dates of my last trip outside the US, whether or not I stayed more than 6 month abroad, my address and with whom I live on that address, how tall I am etc.. Honestly I expected a lot more questions from that part of the application. She didn't request to see any documents I had prepared nor any originals of the documents I submitted with my application. The IO then started asking me the Yes / No questions from the N-400, again not all of them, and in random order. Before she started, she told me that she expects a Yes/No answer. I want to mention that she asked me all of the Yes questions. Also, she didn't ask me of any word definitions. After we were done with this part she, told me that I passed the English test and to check on the tablet that all the information she changed on my application was correct and to sign on the bottom with the stylus pen, then she changed the screen information and told me to sign that I'm willing to take the oath of allegiance. There was one more thing to do that did not require signature, and that was to check, if the information they're going to use for the certificate is correct. And that was everything. She walked me out and told me to check my account for updates. I thanked her and walked out. By the end of the day I saw that my application was approved and today I saw that they scheduled my oath ceremony. I don't know the exact date, yet.

Wish you all good luck and please let me know if you have any questions. :)

Help with derivative beneficiary
Posting again because of so much confusion. So I am a us citizen and I will apply i130 for my parents next month. I have two siblings aged 13 and 22 and my younger sibling cannot live without my parents. Do I include the 13 year old as beneficiary derivative in the petition and should I let my parents come here and apply for my 13 year old?
Also my parents and siblings have visit visa.
Now part b for my 22 year old sibling I was told that my parents should come here first and apply for him, I understood because the wait time would be between 4-6 years but since my 22 year old sibling would drop my parents and come visit me, can my parents apply i130 for him and do adjustment status while he is here in the us or I a us citizen can do that for him since he would already be here?
