Questions relating to a B2 Visa
I have a couple of questions for some experienced people out here. Here is how my story goes. Im 29, my wife 26. We got 2 kids, 19 months old and 8 months old.
We wanna go for a visit to the United States (without kids) People staying with us in Hyderabad, India; are my parents, my 2 widow aunts, 2 cousins, 1 brother and 2 house maids ( joint family ).
My kids dont have a passport yet, I had applied for it 7 months ago, however things are slow at that end.

2) My first question is that we not taking our kids along with us, is it an advantage or dis-advantage from the VO's point of view ?
<<<<we are not taking the kids as, the last time we went to and fro Mumbai, the kids cried the hell on the flight, even though it's just an hour flight. Imagine we trying to go on a honeymoon and the flight for nearly 24 hours!!!more than that the weather in the U.S if the kids cant adapt to it, they would be on bed with temperature!!!, and the vacation will turn into an incident>>>>

2) Proof of kids, is it enough to carry my kids Birth Certificate, pictures to show the VO ?

3) As my passport has lots of stampings ( for the last 20 years) to UAE and Saudi, I did not make a fresh passport with my wife's name, cause I would lose a major point. neither does my wife has my name on her passport, is it okay we carry our wedding pictures and an attested marriage certificate?

4) I have a South African Tourist Visa on my passport, which I got before 3 years, however I did not travel as I wanted to celebrate my birthday there. Since I got my passport from the consulate a day after my birthday, I did not travel. Is it a good or a bad mark ?

Help in filling up DS160 form
We are applying for B1-B2 US visa together with my 2 children. I have few questions:

1.My husband is employed in his family-owned company and at the same time has several other businesses. How do I compute for his monthly salary? Do I include income from all other sources, taxable and non-taxable together?

2.My mother has been petitioned by my sister. My mother's immigrant visa is now in its final stage of processing. She has finished her interview. US embassy has cancelled her multiple 10 year tourist visa and is just waiting for 1 more minor document before they give her immigrant visa. She is still in the Philippines. How should I answer the question IS YOUR MOTHER IN THE US with the thought that the US embassy might have her name in their data base by the time I get interviewed?

Thank you.

Visitor VISA approved for my mom in Tamil
Today the visitor visa for my mom got approved and am real happy.
Being the vacation season there was a huge crowd and it took 3-4 hours for the interview to get over. But for my mom it got over in just half an hour. There were only three applicants for the regional language and it happened so fast.

The consular was an american lady who spoke tamil well.

Q. Who is there in US?
A. My Elder son.

Q. What is he doing?
A. Explained his work.

Q. Why are you going?
A. Tourism and only tourism.

Q. How long you'll stay there?
A. 3-4 months.

We just are waiting to see the validity of the VISA. On either case we are happy that she got through the approval process with ease.

Thanks frenz for your support.

just a querry
i presume this might not be the right place to post a query like this.. but couldnt think of anything better..

"if the parents are in london and child is in india, and if the child wants to visit america with his grandfather, is there any provision for the parents to issue some kinda affidavit to the name of the grandparent (father's father), where the grandfather accompany the child as his guardian for visa interview?? just so that any of the parent is not required to personally go to india for this sake.. for the visitor visa issuing. i mean!

if someone has a guidance to this confusion of mine.. it would be very kind if they can write to me directly at [email protected]

and apologies if this wasnt the right place.. thanks!

B2 approved for parents
My mom and dad got their B2 visas today at the Chennai consulate. The interview was in Tamil and went very well. They are visiting my sister (on L2) and her husband (on L1B) in the US and I am in Chennai. My dad is a retired government employee and my mom is a housewife.

VO: Good Morning.
Mom & Dad: Good Morning, madam.
VO: Who's in the US?
M&D: Our daughter and son-in-law.
VO: Does your daughter work?
M&D: Yes.
VO: How many children do you have?
M: A daughter and a son. My son lives in Chennai and works for ZZZ.
VO: (to Dad) Do you get pension?
D: Yes.
VO: Do you own a house?
M: Yes.
D: Yes, in my son's name.
VO smiles.
VO: Please place your left thumb on the scanner.
M&D did.
VO: You both got your visas and you'll get your passports in a week. All the best.
M&D: Thank you.

The VO was a woman and she spoke Tamil herself - there was no interpreter. My parents say that she was very nice, smiling all the time and spoke Tamil really well.

Good luck to everyone.

Turned down after assumption?
I am a US Citizen and my fiancee is from St. Vincent. We made the trip to Barbados (US Embassy) for his visitor visa. We supplied all the necessary paperwork and I had filled out the online application about a month ago. When the question was asked "Did you fill out the information yourself?" I answered no and let them know it was his fiancee who filled out the information.
He reached US Embassy and after 3 hours (I know that's the typical wait time) went like this"
Good Morning
fiancee: "Good Morning"
Officer: "is your fiancee British or American"
fiancee: "She is American"
Officer: "I'm sorry we cannot grant you a visa at this time"
That was it. My fiancee and I both live in the British Virgin Islands, I don't plan on living in the US any time soon, he has a great job, has been here for 8 years, has a substantial bank account and supports both a mother and daughter in St. Vincent.
Was the only reason he was denied was that they thought I was living in the US and wanted him to come to me? They never even asked.
We are devastated. Any advice???
