I-94 sent for EAD has less validity
Hi

I landed in US on 13th Aug on L2 visa and was issued I-94 at POE with duration of stay different than my passport expiry date. My Passport is expiring on 07/12/2016 (dd/mm/yyyy), however the immigration officer mistook it for 12th July 2016 and issued me I-94 till that time. I filed for EAD on 23rd Aug not knowing that my EAD would also be valid only till 12th july 2016.

I recently realized the error in my I-94. I understood from USCIS website that this error in I-94 can be rectified by visiting nearest CBP office but i have following questions:

1. Should i get my I-94 rectified with correct validity (till 7th Dec 2016) taking into account that i have already sent my I-94 with different validity to USCIS for EAD processing?

2. If yes to the above question, is there a way i can still request the USCIS so that the EAD can be issued for the correct I-94 duration till Dec 2016. If not, then i will have to get my passport renewed and then apply for EAD extension again after July 2016.

Any guidance on this case would be helpful.

Regards,
Priyank

L2 EAD
My EAD Status now shows Card sent for production.
Below are the timelines

Landed in US 17th july'15 on L2
Wasted 13 days thinking that EAD would require SSN. applied SSN immediately.
Applied EAD online 30th July
Received receipt i.e I-797 with 2-4 days around 3rd or 4th aug'15
Received biometric notice same week with appointment for 17th aug
Went through biometric on 17th Aug and added my SSN while providing details.
It was difficult after that as there was no status (application received) change till today.
Raised a service request on 13th oct and started praying for getting the case approved and see the change in status.
23rd oct morning received sms about status change.
New status now is card in production.
90 days will by 27th monday and i hope card will be reaching by 28-29th.

Big Thanks to immihelp and its members for all the information shared.

USCIS is pathetic
Wanted to share with everybody the experience which I am still experiencing with this wonderful organisation USCIS . Superb frustrated.

I am in this country on L2 visa and here are the timelines for my work permit application

15th July 2015 - Completed & submitted online application ; I-765
22nd July - uSCIS received the supporting documents from me
3rd Aug - Completed the biometrics
7th October 2015 - USCIS requested some initial evidence
9th October 2015 - My service request for completion of 75 days timeline was assigned to an officer
14th October 2015 - USCIS received whatever they requested
16th October 2015 - USCIS sent an response ( not sure if its mail or email) in response to the service request ( till today I haven't received that mail)
20th October 2015 - USCIS sent an response again ( again not sure if its mail or email) in response to the service request ( no signs of that mail if it was)

The customer care is pathetic and they have zero information, they just simply read out whatever online status says as though we do not know to read English.

Can somebody tell this USCIS there is something called EMAIL or PHONE instead of sending every small communication by USPS which is another pain in the *** company. They take 4 business days for each mail not sure why.

Got a job offer on hand and I am highly frustrated.

Not sure what to do. Anybody facing this kind of problems, and any idea how long I will have to wait for the EAD card.

I have visited USCIS website some 1000 times; never visited any website so many times in my life.

Thanks.

My TSC EAD nightmare
I applied for a renewal EAD from The TSC on the 4th of July, I then mailed in the supporting documentation 2 days later, subsequently received and completed biometrics appointment and all appeared to be going as planned.

I started to become concerned towards the end of August though when a check on the USCIS showed they where still processing applications from January 2015! January... I called USCIS to find out what this may mean for me. My EAD expires 10th of October. I work as clinical trials nurse / coordinator and as such cannot just stay away from work as I am responsible for looking after patients with terminal cancers while they are subjects in clinical trials and also have to make sure trials are conducted as per protocol and according to FDA regulations.
I called after 75 days and requested for expedited review. this was approved very quickly and my case was assigned to an officer who promptly sent me an RFE by snail mail! took 10 days to receive it! I quickly sent in the requested documentation by express mail and it was received on the 6th of October. since then, nothing. No further movement.

I have called multiple times, made an info pass appointment, all for nothing. All I get is: it had been assigned to an officer and awaiting adjudication. ....should happen any day now. .....you just have to wait. ...

In the meantime, I am now sitting at home all tied up in knots checking the USCIS website 1000 times a day and slowly getting frantic with my inability to respond to requests to schedule work meetings, see my patients, respond to data queries or give an answer to my employer about when I may be able to return to work...

Extremely frustrated .

EAD Still pending
I applied for 17 month STEM OPT Extension. I came to the US on an F1 visa.
6/14/15 - USCIS received my application
Sometime in July - No update in my case thus far. Apparently I was sent a biometrics appointment letter, but I never received it (I discovered this in August because I had no idea I had to go for a biometrics appointment in the first place, evidently online filers are required to, while paper-based application aren't. Go figure)
07/29/15 - Initial OPT EAD expires
08/19/15 - I receive an RFE - There was a discrepancy in the employer name in my application: my I-20 and supporting documents listed the company I worked at, while the application listed the staffing agency I was employed by. I was asked to send in documents clarifying who I was working for. In addition I was asked to attend a biometrics appointment and include a stamped copy of the appointment notice to the response to the RFE.
08/22/15 - Called USCIS. Explained to L2 officer that I never received the first biometrics appointment, and asked to be scheduled for a new one. The officer proceeded with my request and asked to wait for about 2 weeks for the receipt of my new biometrics appointment.
09/08/15 - Called USCIS again. I never received the new biometrics appointment I had been promised. It turns out the L2 officer I spoke with failed to schedule a new appointment despite assuring me he would. I asked to be scheduled for a new appointment again. At this point I'm very stressed out, I've been out of work for a month or so now, and my old job has agreed to keep my position open for me, but their interest has began to wane. The L2 officer promises to schedule new appointment and asks me to wait a further 2 weeks.
09/22/15 - I am mailed my new biometrics appointment, due to be attended on 10/09/15.
10/09/15 - I attend biometrics appointment. I make copy of stamped appointment after my attendance, add the required documents clarifying the company name, and mail them with the RFE notice back to Vermont Service Center via USPS
10/14/15 - USPS sends delivery notice of documents to VSC.
10/15/15 - No update on USCIS website as to whether the response to the RFE has been received. I call three times and finally get hold of an L2 officer, who tells me my biometrics have been received but there's no news on the response to the RFE I mailed. Agrees to open a request for my case since my case is outside the processing time limit.

At this point I'm highly stressed out. I can barely eat or sleep because I'm so worried and I've been out of work for a few months since my EAD has expired. Is there any timeline as to how long it takes to be approved once the RFE response is received? Do I need to contact my congressman to open an expedite request for my case, and if so how.

Thanks in advance for any helpful information - I really appreciate it.

Congressman really works ead pending 104 days
Hi I would like to share my experience because this forum has been very helpful to me
Here is my timelines:
6/30/15 uscis received application.
7/28/15 walked in for biometrics appointment.
9/21/15 raised service request for approaching the 90 day period.
9/30/15 2nd service request for beyond the 90 days.
10/7/15 walked in to infopass was useless they said all I could do was wait that they were far
Behind, that if I didn't get nothing by end of month to go back to infopass,so I had to wait another month
After the 90 days wich is very stressful, not to mention my ead expired 8/22/15 so I been without ead 2 months
Right after I walked out of infopass I went to my local congressman,I've had already made some research on this
Forum about how that helps, anyway I went personally to his office same date as infopass,he said he would look into it
To give him a call in 5 days,I called him yesterday as he told me to follow up on the case around 10:30 am,he said to
Call him back at 2:30 or 3:00 pm that he would have a response than,I did as he said and he said that he spoke to uscis
That they were going to try to expedite the process, that if I hadn't received nothing within a week to call him back, and this morning like at 6:45am I got a text message from uscis that my card was being produced,so if you guys are beyond the 90 days contact congressman ASAP,good luck to all of yall

L2 EAD New Application
Hi,

I applied for EAD based on L2 visa. I did a PAPER application and sent it along with supporting documents on Aug 17 and were received by USCIS on August 20th. They also sent me a receipt notice.

My question is related to Biometrics. Do I need to get it done? If yes, can I schedule appointment myself or do I need to wait for instructions from USCIS?

Please suggest.

Thanks.

EAD approval time line

27 June 15: Landed on L2 Visa
04 July 15: Applied SS and got in 7 days (not related with EAD)
06 July: Sent I-765 to Texas facility
22 July: Acknowledgement received that my case was received on 16 July
04 Aug: Bio-metrics done
06 Oct.: Online status changed to card sent to production
07 Oct. Online status changed to 'Approval of EAD on 6 Oct.'
10 Oct. Approval notification received

Waiting for card now. But there is no hurry. I have no luck with job search in last 3 months.

So in nutshell, it took 90 days from the date I posted I-765 through USPS.
