Got H1B Visa at 3rd interview
Hi All,
First of all Thanks for this website. And Thanks for all

the people who shared their experiences at Consulate.

Let me share my own experience, so that other would get

benefitted as i did.

My first interview was on Dec 5th 2005 at 3.00 pm.
My conversion went on like this.

Me: Good Afternoon Sir.
VO: Good Afternoon.

I gave all my documents.

VO: Where are going to work.
Me: YYYY company

VO: which place you are going to work in USA?
Me: xxx place

VO:For which client are you going to work?
Me: They (my employer) has couple of clients viz. abc,xyz

etc. I am going to work for any one is this clients.

VO: So, you are not certain that you are going to work for a

particular client?
I took a blue from and starting writing on it. I could not

realize what was happening. I was thinking something is going

wrong.

VO: He issued me 221(g) and said "you are certain about the

client letter. He said you don't have the proper document

about client.
Get me the Client details and come back on those days

mentioning the dates on the 221(g).

Me: I have this documents.
VO: No. You don't have. It is over come back again with docs.

I should my disappointment there itself( Later I realized

that it is not right to do so).

I came back disappointed.

Came back my home town. I explained about this to my

Employer. My Employer told me that he would provide me with

proper documents. But he took around 5 months.

I went to Consulate again on 4th May 2006 with all the docs.

This time VO was a lady.

I was the first person in the line. The conversion went on

like this.

VO: So, what was the reply to the last query?
Me: I gave all the documents saying. I am provided with

Project Management Plan and Project Schedule.

VO: She has seen the docs. She asked whether I am going to

work for xxx client.
Me: Yes. I am going to work for xxx client.

VO: Do you have letter from end client. I need a letter from

the supervisor from end client stating that you are going to

work for them.

Me: No.

Vo: She marked another query and get the letter from the

supervisor of the end client and come back again.

Me: Ok. Thank you very much.

By this time i got habituated with the Queries. It became

normal for me.

I went back again on 7th june 2006 with client letter.

Stood in line. He was a cool person aged around 52 yrs. I

already seen couple of VOs by this time. I thought my visa is

confirmed. But again thought let me see.

my interview went on this way.

Me: Good Morning Sir. How are you ?
VO: Good Morning.

I gave the required documents.

She was going through all the documents.

VO: How much you are paid?
Me: xxx dollars/annum.

He has gone through all the documents very carefully. I think

he also called US to client. But as it was late night for

them. No would have lift the phone of client.

VO: He came back. You will get your passport along with visa.

Go and pay the DD.

Me: Thank you very much.
VO: Welcome.

I could not believe it becoz most of the times i am told to

come back again.

I paid the DD and now today i got the passport with visa

stamped in it.

What is think is a good documentation is very important in

the consulate. That's the first priority.

I once again Thank you all for sharing their experiences. All the Best for everyone.

H1B - 221g
Hi Guys,

i have Attended the Consulate in December, I was Given A 221G, and later i have provided the Documents Specified in 221G, Again I was Given another 221G, This Time i have Lost the Hope and Intrest Aswell, but provided the Documents and attended the Consulate(chennai) on May 24th, I was in the Consulate by 11.00AM and took 2 and Half hours to Get to the Visa Lobby, Surprisingly there was the Chief Visa officer ( Stephen) who was tipping the Applicants on the process.
some of the Tips given By him Which I have Used Sucessfully.

1. Relax( this is the Most important of ALL) Take a Deep Breath and look Cool
There is Nothing You Can Do by Feeling Tense.
but You can Do A lot by Rlaxing
( First Impression is the Best Impression)

2. be Confident( this comes with Relaxtion)

3. Smile, look at the Visa Officer and Wish Gently
dont worry even if the Visa Officer doesnt Wish you Back( they are More Busy than we Expect.)
(This Tip Does Paysoff, Really)

4.answer to the point(yes!! Just Anser to the point, if you elaborate your Answer you are giving the Visa officer a New Question and in turn jeopardisng your Chance of Getting Visa)
ex: How much is your IT Experience
Ans : 8 years.
Thats it nothing More than that, Dont Elaborate.
(Big Mouth Big Touble)

5.Show the Document What is Asked for. do not Pull All the Docuemnts and Put in Front of the VISA officer to Search.

6.Keep Smiling and look Enthusiatic

7. Check All the Clint Specific Documents and Your Current and Previous Project Details, client Contact names. ( Just Answer )

8.Keep Your Ears Open,Listen Carefully, Wait until the Visa Officer Finishes, and Answer Gently, Slowly, Clearly.( Relax, Relax)

9.Dont Let The Visa officer Repeat the Question more than Twice( This Irritates the VO) -> Check the Poit no 8 Above.

10. Relax, Relax, Relax

I Got my H1 on 24th may.

to all the Visal Applicants, I wish You all the Best, I pledge you to Relax, it will help you in every way.

if Any Help, you Can reach me on [email protected] or 9866574649 till 5th of
july.

Wife got H4 successfully
Hi,
My wife went for H4 stamping on 2nd of June to Mumbai Consulate. Based on what she told me I am posting her experience here.

She took the coupon from VFS which enabled her to wait for her interview in the comfort of VFS office. The coupon costs 150 Rs. and I would suggest you to take it. It is complete waste of time and energy waiting in line outside consulate.

Her interview was at 9.30 am. She reached VFS office by 8.30 am and waited there. Around 9.15, she was taken to consulate in VFS bus. She got direct entry into consulate and didn't have to wait outside consulte like others.

After collecting documents and giving fingerprints, she was given a token number and was told to wait in waiting lounge. Her name(not token number) was called in 30 minutes. The officer asked just two questions viz. where are you going in USA and how long you have been married. He didn't ask for any documents, marriage pics or marriage certificate. She had an interpretor(Hindi) for help.

I think it's kind of predecided whom they want to give visa. I gave her all kind of documents which includes original marriage certificate, marriage photos, original I-797(my H1 petition), few pay slips, few bank statements, my W2(tax return) of last year. None of the documents were scrutinized.

She will be joining me here soon.
I thank this site and the contributors for all the knowledge I gained. Please post your successful experiences for others to follow.
