Hi All,

My Visa interview happened on 29thJuly2010 @ New Delhi Embassy.
My time was 10:15 AM and i reached arround 9:30 AM. I went ahead to Gate6 but they asked me to deposit the mobile at Gate 5.It was a huge queue at Gate 5.Finally at 10 am i reached at Gate 6. There they marked my attendance in their Paper. After that they directed me inside a hall where a lady was arranging all the necessary papers.I was waiting for 10-15 minutes there. The lady who was providing the token suddenly called me and asked are you applying for L1? Me- Yes L1B. She- Come to Me? There she has arranged my paper and provided a Token and asked me to wait for your Token and if no. flashed on screen go to the respective counter.
After nearly 20 minutes my no. flashed and i went ahead to a straight path hall. There one security personel confirmed my token no and directed me to a counter. The lady asked me Which company i am working for? me - ABC Conpany.(She was asking so many Questions that people were getting confused if this this the real VO interview.) I gave my pepers to her she stamped some information on my paper and provided additional paper showing visa for L1B and asked me to go ahead to counter 24 to pay 24000/ DD. I reached to counter 24 it was a small Queue arround 10 people were ahead to me. After 5 minutes my turn came and the officer asked my papers. He recieved the DD and punched my papers with a recieved bill of 24000. He asked me to go ahead to counter 10/11 for finger printing. I went to counter 10 there couple of person were waiting gave my finger print of 4 finger left hand, 4 finger right hand and finally 2 thumbs
together. One lady was assisting to put the finger on scanner. She asked me to wait for my number to panel interview. After 10 minutes my number came i saw one person was already standing on that counter. I waited for my turn. Once he left the VC/VO(Visa Consular) asked me to come ahead(Hand gesture).

Vo left his seat and was gone for some work. He came back in 2 minutes. He looked like a tall medium build and long face american guy.

Me: Good Morning Sir.
Vo : ( said something i thought replying to Good Morning..My bad understanding..)
VO : I am asking Why you are going to US?
ME : I am going to work on technical design and software development for my client to help them in automating XYZ using ABC properiotory Framework ***
VO : Who is your Client?
ME : **** **
VO : So Do you have any related experience ?
ME : Yes Sir, I have implemented similar framework for one of my other client PQR which is a subsidary for XYZ in UK.

ME : No Sir.
VO : But you said You have worked for PQR which is in UK.
ME : Yes sir i have worked from offshore since this client has Offshore development centre in gurgaon.
VO : So why you can't work from Offshore for this (new) client XYZ.
ME : This client XYZ doesn't have the Offshore development centre so i will be travelling to Onsite to fulfill there business needs.
VO : Ok. How long you are working for XYZ.
ME : It's a new client for Us.
VO : OK. New Client. Whats your Indian Salary arround *** per annum.
ME : Yes Sir (Told him Exactly) INR per annum.

VO : Ok i will have your passport, Visa is approved and it will courier to you in 4-5 Business days.
ME : Thank you sir have a great day ahead.
VO : Same here.(Hand gesture of Bye)

Point to be noted:
1) Keep your mobile with you..Its necessary since i found several person were waiting outside to make a call to there drivers or relative to pick them up.I helped couple of them to use my mobile..There is nothing arround 2 km area so that u can make any call. You can deposit it to Gate 5 before going to Main
gate 6 for attendance. You will save 2-3 minutes of unnecesaary walking
2) Keep your Company ID card with you but don't display it.
3) Be Patient and vigilent.
4) Answer carefully and no stories..Concentrate on VO words and maintain smile + Eye contact. Confidence is the Key.
5) You can keep your bag with you but should contain only papers.
6) If you find some one waiting on your counter where you are supposed to be please wait to finish him and then approach to counter. Its good manner and they make a note of it.

All the Best to all of You who is waiting for Interview.

L1B Stamped @ Chennai on 23-Jul-10
Hi Guys,

Thanks for all your previous post and help.
Questions to me were not diff from others so i don't want to write the same.

My PA was @9:15am. I reached consulate by 9:10am only and got in directly in front of queue as security asked me to go.

Points to Remember:
*Don't reach consulate earlier than 15mins, else you'll wasting your time.

*Follow this procedure Docs Verifcation -> DD Payment -> Visa Interview (One guy came to VO without paying the DD and he was tensed as VO was not pleased with him for this)

*Hope for the best and Believe in you. Two people's(Boy and then girl) were visa were denied by BigFatLady as everybody referred has referred as a tough one. But I was the third and mine was Approved. Point here those two are from my company. So don't let surroundings affect your hope...

*When talking always
    --be alert for VO's ques,
--be patience for VO to answer u or listen to
      you
--Look at VO face and talk with Confidence(matter a lot and makes a diff).
--Speak to VO in a normal tone and Normal speed, with your own accent
--Explain the points clearly but don't exaggerate

Finally, If you want to convince others that you're the best, you have to believe that you're the best

L1B Individual got stamped. Thanks to immihelp
I had my VISA interview at 10:45 a.m on 22nd July. My VISA petition was initiated in 2007 but I did not attend the interview till date. Petition is going to expire on 24th Nov. So I did not really sleep for about a week and was really nervous about the question I would be facing. My husband is in the US and I want to meet him.
My advise is please please go thru all the questions in this forum. We know the questions so please answer as fit.It is foolishness to say "Dont get tensed" because I was shivering from head to foot.I finished all formalities and was yelled at by an Indian woman while giving my finger prints. There will be lot of waiting and sitting before you will be called. You will be in the line when so many will be interviewed before you. so please hear what kind of questions are being asked.
Before me there were 10 ppl in the queue. And more than 5 of them were telling VO "I am the seniormost blah blah". This is a really cliched line and 3 of them got stamped 4 got rejected. Please try to use different words though u convey the same.
Another VO opened his window and 2 were interviewed by him. Third one went to the old VO and I was called by the new one. He started smiling and greeting me even before I did. He asked me the following:

VO:How many years of exp with current comp?
Me: 4 years n 10 months
VO:Who is the client
Me: Blah( he did not hear this properly. So he heard again putting his ear closer)
VO: What are you going to do in the US?
Me: I am going to convert client's business rules into technical architecture. I am going to do analysis of client systems, design and develop DW jobs.I am going to use tools like..( at this time he stopped me saying 'You are a Individual applicant. you are fine'
That is it. Afterwards I did not hear to what ever he spoke. I remember something like "courier". Not a single question as to why I did not come for interview etc.

Please be confident and look at him in the eye. I admit it is scary. But as u stand in the queue prepare yourself well, loosen your body and speak confidently.

Well, thanks to sriram for hearing my prayers. I am waiting to meet my dear husband soon.
