L1B got refused under admin processing, given 221g pink slip, issued in 7 days
My interview went fine. usual questions till this one.

VO: Whats u r Indian Salary?
ME: 13 Lacs/annaum

VO: How come such high salary for 5+ exp
ME: (I should have blamed my company..but I went offensive) I am the best guy in my team and expert in my domain which i developed thru my dedication and hard work.

VO: I am not convinced
ME: Well, I work a product company and according to my company scales best performers gets paid exceptionally well

She (VO) looked not convinced and said your application has to go through admin processing and handed me 221g pink slip with a tracking number and asked to goto counter F.

I went to that counter. Filled up the application given to me with exactly same answers (that i said to VO) and came out.

My status was in "Under process" for 5 days and then on 6th day it changed to "Issued". Today I got the passport with Stamping.

My suggestion is to go offensive (Dont show off)
If you are an exceptional done bother to hold back.

All the best to you guys.

God bless you.

Thanks...

L1/L2 got rejected in chennai
I would suggest everyone to post their experience after the PAI. It would be great if you can specify the years of experience, whether you highlighted technology or domain or application knowledge while talking about your specialization. This will truely help others. Since I have highlighted my technology it rejected, now i am thinking i should highlight application knowledge instead of technical skill.

Hello Friends,
The counter which i stand one bald guy was there. he was just rejecting all the VISA's. not even one who stood in that counter got the VISA. From the crowd of 40 that i observed in different counters at max 3 or 4 got the L1 B approved. Jus imagine they are rejecting th L1 Managerial visa also..We should NOT blame our luck for this. Thanks

L1 & L2 visa approved
Dear All,

Thanks to each one of you for posting their experinces, it did help me alot in my interview yesterday.
I had applied for an L1A ( managerial cadre ) and L2 for my spouse.
The appointment time was 10:00 am, we were at the consulate gate by 9:15. Luckily it was a cloudy day, no rain though... so dint feel the heat of chennai much... :)
We got inside after they verified our passport and appointment letter at the gate.
Once you get in there would be a security check, and after which you would get into a hall where they scan your documents. There are attendents who help you with everything. And once the docuemnts are scanned you would be asked to hand over the DD and then head for the interview. There are 2 bldgs , our interview was shceduled in the 2nd bldg.
There was 1 guy before me, who got his visa approved and then it was our turn.

We: Good Morning Ma'm
VO: Good morning.
( i handed over the documents )
VO: How many years of exp do you have
Me: X yrs
VO: What are you going to do in US
Me: explained in 2 sentences ( please try to keep it to the point and avoid long explanations)
VO: Who is you client
Me: xyz
VO: How many yrs of Mangerial experince
Me: x yrs ma'm
VO: Do you have the authority to hire and fire
Me: Yes
VO: How long are you married
Me: x yrs
VO starts stamping the papers and then... " your visa is approved , you will receive the passport in a weeks time.
Me: Thank you ma'm, have a pleasant day.
VO: Thanks you too.

surprisingly not a single question to my spouse.

Well few suggestions or observations;
Please see to that you carry all the documents as directed by your visa cell. ( must say my visa cell did a good job)
I noticed few people who had come with a photograph with coloured background, and they were asked to take new snaps again. Please read through the instructions as these are basic stuffs...
Listen carefully to the VO, they only get a lil tingy when you do not understand even after they repeating the question twice...
Stand straight and do not lean or peep into the counter...
Be confident, you just have to prove your purpose of travelling, as long as you are confident that you have to be there, the there is no one stopping from that... just make your point clear to the VO
Do not carry mobile phones, cd's, credit cards etc. its a strict no. There were few of then who were carrying mobile phones and were asked to move out of the line and scrutinised seperately... well all this jus adds on to you tension... so avoid it... :)
Do not bother to look or listen to other ppls inetrview, doesnt help you in anyway... jus focus on your thghts and keep practising your own questions and asnwers...

Well these were my 2 cents... hope it would help one of you... as many did to me
Wishing all the very best!!!

Cheers,
L1-Bangalore

L1B Blanket Got Approved
Hi All,

Today I had my VISA stamped. 8:00 AM was my stamping time, and I reached the US Consulate by 7:30 AM.
First we were checked thoroughly. Advice would be dont carry mobile, wallet or any gadget with you, not even ATM debit/credit card. If required carry cash with you, as this will speed up your process.
On reaching the condulate we were asked to keep the following documents ready.
1. Passport
2. Interview Letter
3. Confirmation Letter
4. Photo as per the US standard
5. Petetion Document
6. BEP letters if applicable

As we sat down names were being called at different windows for the PA. I was called at Window number 5.

Steps to be Followed:
1. Greet the VO with a Smile
2. Wish him a God Morning
3. Dont show him that you are tensed

Interview Questions:
Me: Hello Good Morning Sir
VO: Very Good Morning

VO: Documents were already available to him, asked for my current years of Experience with Organization
Me: XX years and XX months

VO: Which Client you are working for
Me: I am working for YYYY client

VO: How many years with client
Me: XX years

VO: Describe Your Project
Me: Told about the project details. Please note dont make it too length just be specific to the point.

VO: You are going on Intra Company Transfer, and hence you should have some specific skills which others dont have. What do u have to say about it?
Me: This was an obvious Question, and I knew its now or never. Told him about tools I have worked on avoid saying about Technology.

To this the VO started writing onto the screen and then started signing the papers, after a pause of about 3 minutes, he asked me whether I am married, I replied no.

VO showed and THUMBS UP and said make merry (Still was waiting for the GOLDEN WORDS) your VISA is approved. CONGRATULATIONS

TO this I smiled back and said THANK YOU, it was nice speaking to you and left the counter.

Regards,
Anirban

My l1B gor approved on June 18th at Hyderabad Consulate
Initialy I was directed to counter 4 where I gave my documents, DDs and two photos. The lady at the counter checked my documents, DDs and returned them to me.
she also gave me the documents which they had received from my company few days before my interview. the MRV receipts, three sets of petition docs, etc.

Then I was directed to a queue to submit the DDs and get the receipt.
There was long queue at counter 1 where we have to submit the DD and take the receipt.
I had wait in the queue for more nearly 1 hr 15 min.

Then I was guided to a counter where I gave my finger print scan.

After that I was given a token and asked to wait.
After 30 min they called out my number.

The VO asked me just three questions.

1. What is your experience with ABC company.
 I answered 4 yrs 7 months.
 He repeated "4 yrs 7 months" ?
 I said "Yes"

2.What are you going to do in US.
For this I just answered that I will be executing the final phase of my project for the client YYYY on behalf of ABC(my company).

3. What is your experience with client YYYY
I told him its 1 year 11 months.

He said you visa has been approved and you will receive your passport in a weeks time.

L1B rejected :)
Hi,
My L1B got rejected from chennai on 17th..the questions asked were as expected...your clinet, your experience with company, experiences with client, ur special skills..dont know the reason..VO told i dont have the specialised skills as per L1B. I projected my 65 months of MNC experince n project experience n domain experience..but seems that was not enough..I had my interview in a counter adjacent to prescreening area, it was a big mess there...
Any way, if US, then Europe >>>>

Best wishes
