Why doesn't anybody bother to elaborate more on the "bald guy"? i only see one liners here that say that the bald guy rejected my Visa. Can anybody post about what he asks, why he rejects etc? I'm sure there some way to get your Visa approved by the bald guy also.

L1B Visa Approved...25th June,2010,09.30 Hrs
Hi,

Just want to share my experiences for the L1B Visa Interview:

- First & most important thing is be Cool & Confident, here only many lost their control and Visa not getting approved

- Don't dare to go to the interview with empty stomach,as it creates nervousness

- This portal helped me alot for the L1B Visa preparation and i thanks alot for the coordination committee.

Interview Session went as:

After entering:

Me:Hello,Good Morning How are you?
VO: Good Morning ..I am Fine Thank You! How about you?

Me:I am doing fine .Thanks!

VO:What is your Designation?
Me:Software Engineer

VO:How long you have been with the current organization?
Me:2 Years

VO:How long you are working with the current project?
Me:18 months (Its better to say in terms of months rather than saying it in years as it creates a bigger picture)

VO:Why only you have been nominated for this?
Me:Here you have to show your experiences and qualities you have related to the current project

VO:Tell me something about your project?
Me: Provided the basic overview about my curent project. One important tips for this question, never go in depth while telling about your project and never use any technical terms while expalining to him as he will be not a technical guy and there is a rare chance i.e 1% out of 100 that the Visa Officer will be a technical guy

VO:Are you going to client location?
Me:I replied i am going to my US Branch Office.

VO: Is this first time you are being moving out of India?
Me:Yes

VO:I am approving your Visa and you will be getting it in two working days.
Me:Thank You with a smiling,as facial expression shows how confident you are.

VO:Have a Nice Travel!
Me: Thanks!

L1 VISA approved
Dear all,
It was a pleasant day yesterday. I had my VISA interview scheduled at 8.30. I reached there at 8.00. There was a long queue standing in front of me. Since the security was rearranging the queue, giving preferences to family and single ladies, I had to wait until 10.00 in the queue. Also they give preference to those who hold Lounge Pass.
Before going inside, you should have your DD, Passport and Interview letter handy. Keep all the other document in a plain plastic carry bag. Once you enter, there will be security check. One more queue inside embassy who will give back our application form to embassy along with the token number.
Later there was a queue to submit the DD. I was expecting a separate queue to submit my DD, but it wasnt the case, i was standing in general queue. During submission of DD, they were also taking thumb impression. Further I was asked to wait until my token number is called.

After waiting for approx 20 mins, my name was called. VISA Officer lady was nice.

Me: Good Morning Ma'm
VO: No reply, Can you please hand over token?
Me: Sure Ma'm (gave Token to her)
VO: So, Who Do you work for Mr. YYYY
Me: I work for YYYY & my end client is YYYY (I dont know why did I say end client!!!)
VO: How long have you been working for YYYY
Me: Its more than 3 years and 2 months
VO: Why do you want to go to US Mr. YYYY
Me: Bla bla bla......
VO: (Reading the Application Form and I797) Your VISA is approved Sir, Bla bla bla.. ( I wasnt able to understand last sentence as I was not in position to listen :-))

I wish you all, best of luck. Be prepared and face the interview confidently. I believe dressing formally, Eye contact and gestures are the key for success at US VISA interview.
Take care
Anand

L1 B Blanket - Issued Blue slip Not clearly Approvable
Hi,

Thanks immi help.
Today i had interview @ chennai consulate.
Unfortunately i hv found out immihelp site after i have submitted my Form DS 160. I won't say only luck and VO Officer are the reasons for the rejection, in my case i did few mistakes.

I have been in the queue praying to God not to go to Bald headed man's counter. And before me a couple joined and they have sent to the bald man counter.
Then i went to the 6th counter in which a lady was there.

In my application, i had entered like , Working on
Working in Java/ J2EE Profiling XX, YY, ZZ, tools.
Developing a prj specific tool using java blah blah... And monitoring server side components.

Here goes the interview questions.

VO: Which client?
ME: ZZZ
VO: How long with the clent?
ME: 4 months
VO: How long with the company?
ME: 3 years
VO: Educational qualification?
ME: BTECH IT
VO: Is this your first company?
ME: Yup.
VO: Why are you going to US?
ME: To implement the tool that i have designed and developed as the application server is located at onsite.
VO: (Looked in to the system and asked again) Tool that u developed??
ME: Yes.
VO: She is again reading my work desc in the application and looking like not ok...
She finaly said 'Sorry. Unfortunately Your visa is not clearly approvable' and gave me blue slip.

I guess the less exp with current client and started with working on java/j2EE Profiling tools made this flop.

At this point,i would like to know,
whether i can apply again for L1 Individual immediately?
In the case of the same petition, (Workdesc) will there be a chance of approval in L1 Indiv???
Also the BEP of L1B Blanket will be taken into account???

I am looking forward the guidance.
Advance thanks!!!

ALL THE BEST TO EVERY ONE!!!

L1B - approved for second time
My company asked me to come to India, instead of going for extension. I was tensed after seeing the response who took the interview yesterday. So i kept myself well prepared. I went to the fat lady and she asked me two question. Did you had your Blanket L1 earlier? Is it for the same company? No more questions and the visa was issued. Anyways, it's always better to go well prepared.

Hi All,

Thanks immihelp for providing valuable platform for sharing experiences.

I came from an MNC which is getting lot of rejections from consulate these days. I thought they might have blacklisted our company. But today it was all wrong. The VO is looking for specialized skill not any ordinary skill which is readily available in the market. Applicants may got tons of experience in the technology say Java,testing,.net, but for applying L1B you are not suitable.

Luckily,It was a pleasant day here at Chennai and I was able to set out early to consulate without any hassles. I was called in by the security and they did few security checks and allowed me in. I submitted BEP packet in a counter and they returned me back after taking few docs from it. Then I was made to wait in a fully chilled air conditioned room. I was already shivering and this AC added fire to oil. In the sideby hall I saw interviews happening, I saw many people coming out sadly. I completely avoided seeing them. Anyways the way others perform may not be same as you do. So best thing I did is turn off my sight and saw a big portrait of obama smiling at us. I just remembered his quote "Yes we can". A lady came to me asked to stand in line along with others for interview. I entered the other hall and waited for my turn. When my turn came up....

VO:whom you are working for?
ANS:<client>

VO:what tool you are using?
ANS:xyz it is a client proprietary tool.

VO:how much experience you have working on that tool?
ANS: x years

VO:how much experience with the client?
ANS: x years

She started stamping and atlast told "Sir your visa is approved. you will recieve your passport in 5 days".

Then my mind was blank for 5 seconds out of sheer happiness. I greeted a thank you and left happily.

Regards,
ZZZ YYYY
